"Take your hands out of your pockets son." Cloughie actually said this to Trevor Francis when he was receiving a player's award. The movie is like the author of the book describes his own work: a portrait not a picture of the man. I haven't read the book but this movie does capture the character of the man. His no nonsense approach was often seen during tv interviews/ news clips.
Misrepresentation of why cough left, he actually left after a 1-0 defeat to man utd when a director questioned Peter Taylor's role at the club, clings and Taylor who felt undermined then resigned after they felt their positions and working relationship with Longson had become untenable
Actually it was Bradley one of the board wanted to lower Peter Taylor's wages n Brian Clough said that was it , we not staying and that Bradley became the next Derby County Chairman and he bought in Tommy Docherty after Mckay was sacked and Tommy Docherty ruined the Derby County team 1978 sold all the best players bar Mcfarland.
@D He won all those inter cities fairs cups and the league titles and the FA cup you melt, Brian Clough was a jealous little bellend of the legend Don Revie, seriously you should see the honours he's won with Leeds in the 60s and early 70s.
The Leeds players clearly didn't justify themselves to the fans, putting in s**t performances because they didn't like the manager. Hypocrites. Disgusting the way Clough was treated
brian clough was a big mouth yes but what he said was true he was a fucking lion no man will ever fill brians boots he was the best fottball manager in the fucking world .you know why because he had that middlesbrough accent and attitute he didnt give a fuck .he new what he was doing MIDDLESBROUGH PEOPLE are all the same .....crazy in some way and they dont take shit of anyone r i p brian SIMPLEY THE BEST
Theres a tremendous statue outside of Derbys ground. Clough and Taylor with the league trophy. I'm not a Derby fan or Forest fan but I grew up when they took those sides to unimaginable heights. The first time I saw it I stood and stared at that statue for half an hour.
@@DonWan47 with a lot more money to spend. Plus clough took a team from the 2nd division, won the first division as a newly promoted side and then to back to back European cups
@@hijazlander in the cup winners cup. Not the European cup/champions league . Clough won Division 1 as a newly promoted side then won back to back European cups. That's more impressive

His cough left when he bought some lozenges
Was a great player and as hard as a coffin nail though. Something you dont see in the modern game

@D Don Revie clear of Brian Clough
@D inter cities fairs cups is a European Cup you fucking weapon.
@D The Leeds honours list is far more appealing than Forests surely.

Fuck off Brian Clough hated Leeds with a passion, he hated the fans, the players, everything about them.
Remember the 3 day weeks and power cuts!

Perhaps it’s because Middlesbrough is such a shithole
Casting was great in this, except for the actor who was supposed to be John Giles.
Do you want to play cricket with shoaib Akhtar ... uncle mickey sam
Even with a full squad, Derby would have never beaten Juventus, the best Italian team back then-which says a lot.
IRL they had a full team, but lost due to ref corruption
Wtf was going on with Jimmy Hills beard ?
