I loved Brian Clough as a kid. Made me fall in love with football.

Brilliant - I loved Cloughie! 😂😂I fear the game will never see the likes of him again 😑

I grew up in Bridgford, very close to the City Ground. Cloughies non footballing son, Simon, used to (and still does) own a newsagents on Central Avenue. Cloughie used to help out in the shop, on a Tuesday afternoon I think, and one afternoon he caught me looking at a top shelf magazine. He stood behind me and bellowed, "Son..... does your mother know you look at those magazines?!" Never ran so fast in my life.

Good teachers are the ones that keep you grounded. They don’t need to tell you how appreciated you are.

Legend of the game. A tragedy that the addiction to the drink robbed him and all of us of what might have been his best years. RIP.

Tbh without the drink I don't think you'd have most of these stories

I am the nephew of a old first division footballer (1980s) and as a kid I had the privilege of going to the players Lounge after games, I was about 9/10 at this time and my uncle team had Some all mighty battles with forest anyway I’d always go and sit down close to mr clough and just listen I even sat down on the long chair right where he was standing one time and he spoke to me and I told him who my uncle is but he knew why I was sitting there, I was just in the presence of a god and I just wanted to see what gods did 🤷🏽‍♂️ I wasn’t disappointed
