I got a double jaw surgery 2 weeks ago. I am still swollen but already so happy with the result! Thank you for sharing your experience! I watched your videos before I had my surgery, and they helped a lot for me to prepare mentally. The first 6 days after the surgery was challenging but from day 7 it got a lot better and my recovery has been very smooth since then! So happy to see you being happy with the result! You look so pretty and confident :)

Thank you so much for your videos. I am 51 years old and started my braces journey 2 weeks before my 50th birthday. I never had any trouble breathing or chewing but my teeth are badly off to the left and I too have my canine tooth that was above the rest of my teeth. They attempted to use a pallatal expander that failed because my suture line on the roof of my mouth was off center as well. So now my only options for straight centered teeth is to have at least my upper jaw shifted. If I want an even bottom jaw then it would be double jaw surgery as I also have one side longer than the other. It is such a daunting thought to have the surgery but your videos and others I have seen has given me hope. So thank you for posting your journey.

    ah you look absolutely awesome!
i’m coming up on 2mos for double jaw surgery & what i’m struggling w the most is trying to get used to my smile/face bc it’s not my perception of ‘me’
i’m doing exercises and can open a bit, but it’s still super stiff and don’t really like the look (mind over matter currently bc surgery went great). i keep saying that it’s temporary and at 2 months there’s still minimal swelling, and that it will change as time goes by but that’s the hardest thing to go by right now.
how’d you go about that? did you feel like you didn’t recognize yourself at all? even minor alterations can really affect someone’s look so i’m just curious

    Hi Kait,
Iam on week 4 pos op. I noticed my face is slightly asymmetrical. The left half numbs more than the right half and the left side of my lip is pulling down a little bit. Not sure if it's normal. My surgeon said because it's more swollen on the left.

So, I didn’t get to watch your whole vid cause my internet keeps cutting you out (I’ll keep trying). I left you a comment several months ago about me also have double jaw surgery (TMJ w/braces while in dental school & back in the early 90s, it wasn’t covered by insurance cause they considered it “cosmetic”). Yeah, right, it’s cosmetic when you click while eating 🤔! Anyway, just wondering if you had PT for yours? Like opening your mouth with you fingers. Man, that’s some pain. But I fear after 25+ yrs I might have to have it again, the jaw pain & headaches are back. TMI? I know, sorry. 😬Anyhow Cait, I wish you a speedy recovery & that you don’t have to experience any more pain down the line. Take care & I’ll still be watching even if I don’t comment a lot. Oh my God. Lets see. Knocked my two front teeth out when I was 10. Had a removable plate for 10 years. Then I made some money and went for it and had braces top and bottom, lip bumpers, rubber bands, braces and a permanent bridge put in. Then had caps on my 6 front lower teeth. Took about 18 months. What an ordeal. My teeth are nowhere near as good as yours but still presentable. Congratulations. They did a great job for you.
