u should also see this song being performed at the machine shop in 2011... he is hanging by the stage ceiling by his legs and swinging back and forth singing above the crowd...i liked it also
If life was fair and based on talent only, these guys would have been one of the biggest bands in the world. Those that know, know, but the masses were denied here. Still tough to accept
What a rarity these guys are; especially the singer. Poetic lyrics, makes me feel like I'm back in medieval Scotland frolicking in some dark forest. Amazing, and I mean amazing vocal range. Whole band is one of a kind.
Im glad i got to see them at least once before they broke up....so sad this band had such great potential to become HUGE!!!! Edit: Still blasting their music in 2022
Their vocalist has so much fucking energy. My favorite part of their live performances is when he spazzes out during a breakdown. It’s fucking amazing cause you don’t sperg-out like that if the music doesn’t mean something powerful to you. So by him getting like that, for me, just highlights how much of his whole being he put into writing, creating, recording, and performing their music. He’s a showman that’s for damn sure and more bands should like to Fair to Midland as an influence on how you should preform live. The whole band is pumped, the sound equipment is balanced nearly perfectly(there’s nothing worse than a live concert where you can’t hear the vocalist AT ALL! I hate when the venue’s sound techs don’t balance the amps and mics and you can’t hear anything put the drums and guitars), and their playing their fucking asses off, like their lives depended on . Like as if they were to screw up; the moment they step of the stage be executed. I am so beyond disappointed that I never had, or ever will, see them live. I would have been up against the stage or balls deep in the pit.
I was literally AT this very show. They had to carry Andrew off the stage at the end because that magical 'human' being could.not.fucking.move. absolutely one of the best shows I've ever seen, and by far my favorite band live. I feel privileged to have seen them from the start and grow and blossom into the magic they were. If your soul could Ejaculate....well..thats what these guys did all over the audience.
One of the most underrated and unique bands you'll ever see. I wish they were still around. Ill never forget i got to see them in nyc during their last tour, and after their show i ripped a poster of the show off the wall and snuck backstage to get Darroh to sign it but instead i found him passed out face down on a bench with throw up all over, so i settled for taking a picture next to his unconscious body lmaooo
wow 2007! i was watching this song Live at the machine shop but it was 2011 and the singer is hanging by his legs upside down and swinging back and forth singing
Look at the ride this band took these folks on.. fuckin quiet and no reaction to jumping that’s the sign of a great band… best lead singer ever that no one has heard of… this was the best he sounded life sucks they fell apart so fast
One of the best versions of this song on RUclips (I actually like it better than the studio cut) Thanks for uploading, please keep it on here! I listen to it daily
i gotta see these guys again. i discovered them when they were opening for flyleaf. as soon as darroh sung the first chorus of their first song and hit all those high notes, they had me as a fan.
Love the part Darroh is improvising... and the throat singing is awesome. Such an underexposed band.. they deserve to be millionaires, not these cookie-cut "musicians" who all sound the same
@nickguitarfreak17 I've cried at this part before. There's just so much emotion in it. And the way the music bubbles up behind him... It gives me goosebumps.
@GrandRiffAuto73 A lot of the songs on their first record, a couple of seconds of it in Vice/Versa, Amarillo Sleeps on my Pillow, Rikki Tikki Tavi. Those are the main ones where they become prominent, some others have them but kinda in the backround, like Golden Parachutes
Quite literally zero disrespect to whoever you are referencing, but no one will ever be close or even closest to Darroh, that man is of another god damn universe.
2024 still listening…..leave a thumbs up
This will forever be my favorite performance of any song ever. 10+ years later and i come back to this once a week
yes pls. same here.
u should also see this song being performed at the machine shop in 2011... he is hanging by the stage ceiling by his legs and swinging back and forth singing above the crowd...i liked it also
Agreed
If life was fair and based on talent only, these guys would have been one of the biggest bands in the world. Those that know, know, but the masses were denied here. Still tough to accept
Yep
those high notes in this version of the song are absolutely magical. Wow. I always find myself coming back to this recording
Because this is the only good recording of this song.
Magic is the absolute best word here. And no one had to tell ya lol. Magic.
This is quite possibly the best live performance by any band ever in the history of music.
Queen at Live-aid
Gabriel Nunes this and then that for sure lol
Motörhead overkill 2004
Oh give me a break...
have u seen villagers of the ioannina city? they are great as well!

I knew a big time producer in LA that said there was no reason they shouldn't have blown up. He tried to sign them before they went to serjical strike
Same bro, same

Their willingness to play clean just makes them seem so much heavier when they are playing heavy, I still cant stop coming back to these guys
Damn. Clean vocals, growls, AND overtone singing?
Darroh Sudderth is a GOD.
He's a whale
Magic man only sometimes when ever he does it right.

The highs to throat singing is the best. I swear on it
Look at the ride this band took these folks on.. fuckin quiet and no reaction to jumping that’s the sign of a great band… best lead singer ever that no one has heard of… this was the best he sounded life sucks they fell apart so fast
I'm stunned speechless, omfg
I can't believe this band is not together
This performance is just...mind-blowing...
These guys were ahead of their time. And time may not have caught up to them yet
the outro is absolutely orgasmic, it's a shame it's not on the CD version...it's the most epic thing ever
Anybody just watch?
Feel that tingle running down your spine? Your hair standing on end?
That's your soul.
When the drop... The high notes.. The voice... The chills that follow
Darroh's vocal range is just....omg. I think I might marry him.
he is also gorgeous af
I'm jealous of everyone at this show... I've seen them live several times... but holy shit... this is an amazing performance
Imma play some Fair to Midland for new years #2023
those high notes goddamm
The last 2:40 of this is amazing. Great live improv and energy. One of the most under rated bands of the decade. Great job!!
Incredible.
Darroh is fucking crazy! It's amazing.
Sweet baby Jesus. That was absolutely ridiculous in the best possible meaning of the word! 😮
LOVE this energy! Wish I could've been there.
One of the best versions of this song on RUclips (I actually like it better than the studio cut)
Thanks for uploading, please keep it on here! I listen to it daily
Holy shit! So awesome!
I come back to this video year after year. Thank you for recording it and putting it up. Performance of a lifetime
I keep coming back. I hate the way the band ended. I want more. We all want more.
@ 4:25 makes me remember when bands used to make you feel the music...
i bet like 90% of those people don't realize how lucky they are to be there
best live band iv seen. ever.
4:20 literal goosebumps...
i gotta see these guys again. i discovered them when they were opening for flyleaf. as soon as darroh sung the first chorus of their first song and hit all those high notes, they had me as a fan.
1 of the best bands and songs of all time
PLEASE COME BAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Holy shit
+Spicy Carpets I second that sentiment. Holy. Shit.
No one could possibly match the energy of Darroh.
him and mike patton....total vocal gods...
I love bands that have enough energy to jump around and go all crazy! Great song! Great performance!
Love!!
4:10 chills just go down my spine every time
singers voice is something else!! it goes high then low!!
Love the part Darroh is improvising... and the throat singing is awesome. Such an underexposed band.. they deserve to be millionaires, not these cookie-cut "musicians" who all sound the same
@nickguitarfreak17
I've cried at this part before. There's just so much emotion in it. And the way the music bubbles up behind him... It gives me goosebumps.
this sends chills down my spine
Saw them at Rams Head live in Baltimore, it was magical!
God that overtone is perfect.
haha, that was awesome i screamed out loud watching by myself when he jumped. favorited.
That break!!!!!!
Would of been an awesome show to watch..
Just sent fucking shivers down my spine.
Probably said this before, but 4:20 on...my God. This is what music is all about. The end.
Three cheers for throat singing!
The closest we have to him at this point is justin from tallah.
Quite literally zero disrespect to whoever you are referencing, but no one will ever be close or even closest to Darroh, that man is of another god damn universe.
@@danjohns4003 This is Justin covering this song. You should check it out ruclips.net/video/VSkAFiCBxfY/видео.html
As far as technique, Jonny Hawkins of Nothing More does the same vibrato
Holy!!!!!
I fucking love these guys!
Well Rikki Tikki Tavi off the new album (Arrows and Anchors) has a lot of what you call "gritty deep vocals". Check it out!
@II97 Totally agreed!!! Before I saw them live I thought there were two singers
4:14
Gawd they end the absolute fuck out of this song.
holy friggin canoly!
After listening to this version, I almost can’t listen to the album version. This song was meant to have the crowd sing part of it.
Love the random dude jumping on stage haha
Are there any more videos of other songs from this performance??
3:13
@StickanOfSweden I call Roskilde Festival 2011! I would shit my pants if they were on the list :D
Jesus plays Drums in Fair to Midland.. very understandable. \m/\m/
Brett Keane tribute video.
where does that voice come from
@GrandRiffAuto73 no prob
badass security guard man
Nebula that is funny. That was me. Dude pissed me off that he kept trying to get on stage. Don’t screw with FTM.
FTM was way too far ahead of their time to be appreciated like they deserved.
