Fair to midland for me is the pinnacle of music. I've never heard a better front man. His vocals and lyricism is unmatched. He's clever and his range know no bounds. He is the great Darroh Sudderth.
Johnny from Nothing More got that vocal technique from Darroh. Lol FTM was a big influence for those guys. It's good to see people reacting to their music!
Towards the end of your discussion you discuss Nothing More. Nothing More toured with Fair To Midland for a bit I believe. FTM I believe may have had a little influence. The singer did the throat tapping as well.
I was digging in the yard this summer and going through discover weekly and "Greener grass" came up.. Its was like coming home to your best friend and he isnt home.. but his superhot stepmom tell you to wait by their pool. She comes, wearing only a bikini bottom and gives you a glass of jack n´ coke and ask if you want to help her with the sun lotion.. then the sister shows up and with her 3 hot friends wants the same. And we know where this is going.. Long story short. On your way out your friend gives you a high five and his dad hands you $1000 for taking care of the wife..
so have you given a good listen to the albums Arrows & Anchors and InterFundaStifle? SO MANY amazing songs. seriously, as much as you like this albums (Fables), i like BOTH those albums even more, for how far afield they get musically...and how trippy, in the case of Inter. great songs to check out: from InterFundaStifle (bad production, BRILLIANT songs)--Orphan Anthem 86, Abigail, When the Bough Breaks/Quince (amazing album closer), and Granny Niblo. from Arrows: Whiskey & Ritalin, Uh-Oh, Musical Chairs, The Greener Grass (another great closer...they're good at that), Short-Haired Tornado, Rikki Tikki Tavi...oh, and Say When from Fables is yet another amazing closer. Fables From a Mayfly manages to straddle middle ground between InterFundaStifle's trippiness and Arrows' heavier and slightly proggy influences. annoying that they did NOT re-record Inter, though, because those songs i mention BEG FOR IT.

Still to this day, one of my favorite bands!!!!
Same dude. I'd give anything to get them back.
My favorite band since I found them. This is constantly on repeat in my presence
Best and most underrated band in the world! Been a huge supporter of theirs since 2000s! All of their work is untouchable!
This is one of my favorite songs from high school 😂
Heck yeah dude this whole album is a masterpiece. So is their second album!
Walls of Jericho | Kyla Cries Cologne
Awesome ones from FTM too!
The whole album is a masterpiece. Best album of all time imo
i agree every song is a 10, and the 2nd album is amazing too
Wow this takes me back
Walls of Jericho has to be my favorite song from this album, maybe my favorite song as a whole :D
What I Tell You Three Times Is True - Each song has three choruses
Caught em on tour with Chevelle for this album. Intense show, I loved it
I never even realized, thats genius
@@Beyond_Himself beyond that, notice that Fair to Midland is a bastardization of a cliche...and so is almost every one of their song titles.
Vibrato is totally real.

That's interesting!
I was lucky enough to see these guys live many times while they were still together. I wish I could experience them live again.
They were also extremely nice people
That's what I've heard. Man, I'm very jealous.
Same
Best live band i have ever seen...
So jealous.

Yeah I have all their albums framed. I adore this band. It's such a tragedy that they ended so early.
Have you heard Carbon Copy Silver Lining? That album is my favorite. So many good songs that are in desperate need of a re-record
