As a Texas fan, I’m so excited for the rematch in December - these two teams are both so clearly in the top 10 and should run the table, and that game should essentially be a quarterfinal playoff game. This felt like the OU/Texas games of the mid-2000’s. Hats off to OU, Gabriel is forreal and that defense is no joke. Let’s keep pissing off Yormark and give him the finger on our way out lmao

Instant Classic! I also love the fact I can watch OU play a close game and not assume we're going to lose it . Last 9-10 years it's felt like if we didn't manage to score 40+ points we'd probably lose just because we knew for a fact that whoever we were playing was going to. The team as a whole played great today. They stayed focused and hungry even during the brief periods were they were behind, no let down or quit in them. I also loved how the O and D lines played, not perfect but very much improved from the beginning of the season. If they just keep focusing on the game they're playing next and keep doing their individual jobs in the system they're going to be very happy where they end up come bowl season.

Oklahoma is starting to play as ONE. The whole team is giving it all. Tawee is RB1, he's a DUDE. Our RB is starting to see the backs of our OL when they hit the hole. DG is set in granite as a legend at OU. Prayers for our wounded.

Ecstatic for the win. But this game was kinda strange, the more that I think about it.
We won the turnover battle. 2 interceptions and 1 fumble.. But Quinn Ewers managed to throw something like 31 for 37. That's a crazy high percentage completion. It's surprising to look at that completion percentage and think that we did much defensively.
It felt like we struggled more moving the ball than they did. But they scored 23 offensively, and we scored 34 offensively.

I knew we were gonna be in control most of the game when Texas was pulling out fake punts and going for it on fourth down so early in the game

I was never a DG hater, I love his heart, attitude and leadership! But I said time and time again I didn’t know if he could win us a game. He changed my mind the week before against Iowa State, he played with some Baker like swagger and had that eye of the tiger even getting the team fired up! He brought it again against Texas but on another level I didn’t know he had in him! He is so much better than we realize because we are worried about stars. DG is the only QB who could have got us through this rebuild and not only get us thought it but has us at 6-0!

Did anyone else hear whistles during OU plays that sounded like the official's whistles? I thought I was hearing things, but my husband heard them as well.

There was a play where Ja'Tavion Sanders went in motion from right to left to block the edge and Ethan Downs just absolutely moved him like it was nothing to get to Ewers. On the replay I realized who Downs moved so easily and I was going wild. The 3 turnovers by Texas weren't even bad plays on their end, they were ALL forced by OU. Pass stepped in front of by Wiliiams, the blowup by Bowman for the INT catch by Dolby and the helmet on the ball by Bowen when Ewers had it. Texas missed the opportunity to pick DG in the end zone early in the 2nd when it was tied 7-7 for a touchback or possible pick 6, but OU got a FG out of that drive.

My biggest concern was the secondary giving up so many yards through the air. Granted the defense tightened up in the red zone, but hope they tighten up that coverage in the weeks to come.

Dillion looked like a qb making his 44th start in the same offense
Quinn looked like he was a qb making his 14th start in second offense lol Quinn made critical errors that cost Texas the game.

We knew Texas was tougher, stronger, and improved- the win at Tuscaloosa proved that. We were pretty sure that OU was better. We all knew that building a culture, identity and talent pool takes a couple of years- and Texas had a year head start. I knew we would close the gap, but it happened so much faster than I expected. My big takeaway was that OU was that physical, that focused, that talented- AND THEY STILL HAVE SO MUCH ROOM TO GROW. Texas wants us again in December, but at this rate of growth- I can't imagine how much better OU will be in two months.

The OU defense was great, they created 3 turnovers and only gave up 527 yards of total offense. Quinn Ewers was 31-37, at one point in the game Ewers went 19-19, that OU defense was all over him.
