What would really make troodon a night terror is if venom made night vision worse. It would get worse and worse until they couldn’t see the troodons until they’re latched on, which is pretty terrifying
They also would benefit from it since they are tiny Vs most things,
So making a counter attack harder would be great for this lil terror that would probably get one shot by most things larger than a raptor

Troodons shouldn't be insany powerful, it should act more like a raccoon

I hope they give Troodon a bit more of a buff for the official release. Even 6-8 Troodons seem to struggle to take down a single mid-tier. They're such a cool dino in concept that I really want them to be competent enough that people continue to play it after release. Love these quick guides, Kouga!
Troodon can't really be buffed much, he's a super quick-to-grow dinosaur and his ability can kill anyone, i'm sure if they buffed it we would all complain about how overpowered he is! He's also meant to be challenging and group-focused dinosaur.

@@KougaArt That's a really good point. It would be difficult to balance their strength with the 30min grow. You could kill a whole pack and they'd be back before you've completely healed. We'll see how the devs handle it.

@@HelplessTenomaybe they could add more things to the venom, like making the prey's vision blurry or make the poison infected dinos have a delay on their attacks
They literally are not meant to be fighters lol.
The community definitely needed a clear guide on how to use Troodon. As a non beginner dino with special mechanics that require team play and organization it's one of the last dinos folks are gonna master

I never used to be a troodon fan but after seeing what it’s capable, I think troodon has the most advanced mechanics in the entire game so far, I will probably find myself playing as this lil guy when the update comes out :) great video

Wish the stack would just gain a +1 when others pounce. But it would be cool to cordinate and then in mass jump the prey very scary

Hope they drop the update fast and than continuous updates that really push EVRIMA/ Gateway to the next and final stages.
Next update after this one is perks and elders which will give the game a concise and clear gameplay loop. Then after that is weather which might be a pretty quick update unless they do some CRAZY weather effects. Then is a QOL pass which will likely be them switching to humans being the main aspect of production afterwards. In other words we're getting pretty close to dinosaurs being done aside from fluffing out the roster.

A floresta está silenciosa na calada da noite, nada além do som de folhas farfalhando e seus próprios passos estalando em folhas secas e galhos quebradiços. Você foi separado de seu rebanho de tenontossauros horas atrás - você está vasculhando a floresta atrás deles desde o anoitecer. Nada, nenhuma ligação quebra o silêncio mortal. Você continua pela floresta, olhando ansiosamente de um lado para o outro. Você está quase rezando para que algo - qualquer animal apareça. Você nem se importaria se fosse um compsognathus, apenas *algo*.
Conforme você se dirige cada vez mais fundo na densa floresta da selva, você ouve um chamado. Dolorosamente familiar, o chamado de outro tenontossauro. Um estrondo baixo. Você liga de volta. A troca de sons continua, seus próprios pés levando você em direção aos ruídos. Você emerge das folhas da samambaia para uma clareira. Parece uma arena, quase achatada e empoeirada, com algumas folhas ou galhos. Mas, de repente, você ouve algo que faz seus ouvidos estourarem. Um grito sinistro e lamentoso que rola por toda a floresta, acompanhado por uma miríade de passos, gorjeios e outro lamento estridente. Você está com muito medo até de fugir.
Um minúsculo dinossauro, do tamanho de um dryosaurus, sai da folhagem. Então outro... e outro... até que haja dez deles ao seu redor. Eles abrem e fecham a boca como se estivessem tentando tirar um gosto ruim. Dentes afiados como agulhas e... espuma. Gotas espumosas de cor amarela pingam de suas mandíbulas enquanto eles olham para você com olhos brancos com anéis azuis.
O pequeno líder se aproxima de você. De repente, você vê um flash de escamas e uma dor aguda e lancinante em seu rosto. O troodon se prende ao seu rosto e você sente a mesma agonia por todo o corpo. Todos os dez dinossauros se prenderam à sua pele, mordendo e cravando suas garras sob suas escamas. Você sente o veneno correndo em suas veias, até *finalmente*, os troodons se soltarem. Eles cercam você, andando pela clareira e cantando uns para os outros como pássaros. Abutres, quase.
Sua visão fica embaçada. Manchas amarelas cobrem partes dele e você tropeça. Você se sente caindo de lado e uma sensação final e lancinante de dentes minúsculos e afiados rasgando seu estômago.
Mermão, isso ai deu medo até em mim, muito triste que os trodons não podem imitar o sons de alguns dinos para atrailos

The way the devs only allowed 1 troodon to get a dinosaur to venom stage 3 makes it almost completely useless to play in a group without VC. I bet i will be more effective as a single Troodon than most uncoordinated Troodon packs
does it matter how long you bounce the target for? for example if i just want to get bleed out, or do i need to jump off right away? and what about stage 3, can like 4 troodons just pounce one target and stay on?
No, the venom is applied only on the first second, after that it's up to you when you dismount (safety reasons)

@@KougaArt I think in the pack maybe it'd be good to have a "First stack guy" + a backup and a "Second stack guy" + a backup so you're sure nobody else resets the stack. The others just feint and try to create openings for the "STACK GUYS!" xD

Wait, so if a second troodon pounces a target before the 3rd stage of venom it will reset the stage, or is that only if the second troodon doesn't wait for the cue? This wasn't quite clear to me.
if another troodon pounces BEFORE the sound, the stage will reset, this applied on every stage before the third (last one)
to summarize:
1. one troodon pounces, wait
2. one troodon pounces, wait
3. high pitch sound, everyone pounce
would love to see from the prey's perspective. can't really find any vids on it.

does venom work on boars? I'm new to the game and I coudlnt kill the boar as an adult troodon even :(
I did pounce it a few times but it did not seem to get weaker and its turnradius is like a tank i could not outflank it again

I know the hallucinating is dilos thing but it would be nice if there was a visual indicator for the victim when they were being hurt by venom. Like blurred edges or veins on the side of the screen. Or a heart beat like when you’re under water but instead of slow it’s rapid. The shaking is a neat affect but not really obvious to the player

So does the venom only amplify damage or does it also do chip damage like bleed? also, how good is troodon bleed, and how much damage does a pounce do at each stage of venom? Does venom also amplify bleed damage? Also, how much damage does the normal bite do?
1. The venom act by doing ticks of damage, each stage does more damage than the last;
2. Troodon bleed is quite good, but it's not an Omniraptor
3. Venom does not amplify external damage
4. I don't quite remember the normal bite value, I'll take a look at my notes and I'll edit this comment

Am i understand correct? For exampe, we have got an 8 troodons in group and not to ruin the hunt, in process of hunting only one troodon pounsing the prey, when other 7 troodons littrely should do nothing and just watching for the other guy gameplay until he finally end up 3d stage of venom on target
For the stage to advance it's not necessary to choose only one singular person, you can switch the players, but only ONE AT A TIME, does not need to be the same! When it hits third stage and the chirp is loud, pounce as many times as you want with as many troodons you can
So you can't work together to get the target to stage 3?
Only after stage 3 can you pounce with multiple people?
So does this mean in a group of let's say, 7 troodons, only 1 of them can pounce the target till they reach full venomous stage 3?
all troodons can push the target to the next stage, but only one at a time, you don't need to repeat the same Troodon, just don't let anyone else pounce with it!

can u show dmg of venom from prey perspective?
its really weight related, but from what i saw it can drop a full tenonto in about 15 minutes
So if i understood the venom mechanic correct it works like this. We have 3 troodons and for simplisitys sake lets name them Alvin, Simon and Theodore. Sinc only one can stack the venom untill it reaches the 3rd stage that means only Simon can pounce the first 3 times, but after the 3rd pounce and the loud call both Alvin and Theodore are allowed to pounce the target aswell.

Nope, any Troodon can pounce to stack, but don't let two troodons pounce at the same time!
For example, don't let Simon and Theodore pounce, it will just reset the current stage :/
You can have different troodons pouncing at each stage, that's not a problem ^^

It's the stress test, available only for stress testers. The update will come on Evrima branch ^^

I've heard stage 1 and/or 2 reduces night vision, is this true? Could you make a follow up video where we get to see the perspective of someone being envenomated?
Troodon venom does NOT do anything else than damage. It does not cause blurred vision, nor stamina reduction, nor anything else! It's simply damage.

Great video! I have a quick question. I tried playing last night after a couple moths off and couldn't activate night vision. Wasn't it defaulted to "N"?
In evrima the Night vision is " X "
if pressing that doesn't work, do this:
close your game
press windows + r
find The Isle > Saved > DELETE CONFIG folder
restart your game

It opens the player corpse to drop organs for you to eat ^^

Nope, the venom applies at the first second you're latched! It's different from the Omniraptor pounce

Cause the way it sounds makes it seem like even when fully envenonmed,its better to not keep latched on the prey.
@@draconinja2728 yea your supposed to spam pounce in stage 3, staying on in stage 3 is a waste of time because troodon pounce only does damage on initial impact but none for staying latched :P

No, after the 3rd stage you're free to pounce as many times you want with as many troodons you can

Troodon seems to use magic instead of venom, and the wrong steps will interfere with the singing of magic.
they really need to fix the troodons chest/armpits,,,,, you can see right through your character.

i got a question: if a dinosaur is in the envenometed stage and you pounce it again will the timer reset back to 45 seconds again?
Each additional pounce adds 0.5s into the 3rd status

@@awhyea7234 The ticks depends with how many troodons pounced and the weight of the prey youre facing, if im not wrong!
