Sadly no camera released before the R1 and R5ii will have an update to give it the extra tracking features, That needs the new AI chip. I think a lot of eople forget that this shots raw 14bit an 30fps, its quick! Also, Canon are targeting their core market with this body. Id love to see prices of used R5/R3 come down tremdously, but I might just sell my R7 for the pending R7ii, even though the R3 is calling me. Also I thnk you underestimate how many users will record video on the R1. From what I can see over the internet, the R3 is a impressive video tool, now Canon adding more cinema features, the form factor alone makes sense. Oh I cant wait to pick up the RF-S Dual 3.9 to capture the kids!! Cheers

I own the r3 and I have to say the r1 is quite disappointing, right now in the UK you can get an r3 for around 3-4 grand which is nearly HALF of the r1s asking price of 7 grand, definitely not worth it

Honest question why do you want to upgrade your new r3 against an R1. As a non pro? Wouldnt it be more wisen o upgrade the lenses for lighter ones?

I said I wouldn't upgrade for a couple of years until they are cheaper on the second hand market, it's not something I would ever need but it's something that would be nice to own one day and see what it's like

Le r1 est vraiment très cher j’ai l’impression qu’il est un peu bridé par canon avec seulement 24 millions de pixels .Personnellement j’ai un r6 et je regarde pour un r3 en occasion . ( je ne suis pas pro )
