Anyway filmmaker should react to c400 not R1 , R1 is for photographers who need video as well

Why? That's not true. The C400 is limited with AF and build out. More for broadcast not film-making. The C400 looks to be behind the C70 for AF and maybe dynamic range. So the C70 is better for filmmaking compared to the C400.

@@contentm3893 I don’t really think filmmakers are rocking AF like you guys are crying about, lol

@@PastorCory No one is crying about it. RED, Sony and others want AF in there cine line up. DJI focus pro has been added to add focus to cine cameras so you have that. Filmmakers have never had reliable AF have they? Reliable AF save time and money that any production should be wanting to have. The FX3 has reliable AF. So do some research before making assumptions. Lol.

Depends on what sort of film you’re making. Filmmakers like modularity, the R1 is definitely not ergonomic for it.

The R3 was going to be the flagship until they realized it couldn't compete with the Sony A1. Canon changed the designation. It only took Canon 3.5 years to catch up with Sony!! 😛 (A1 realeased Jan. 27th 2021)

24MP is terrible if you need to crop. #masterofnothing

The r1 is about getting the shot, no
matter what, at a sports event. You can’t say you can do that with an a1 or a z9 because they can’t hold up to low light at a sporting event. Canon is just being true to who they are and who they design these cameras for. Sony is new to this game and don’t really know what they are about, because they are just trying to wow young people with specs. Frankly, the r3 was the r1m1 and the r1 is the r1m2. But the r1 is here so it is the r1.

“Can’t hold up” is a bit of an exaggeration.

Sry, not sure how much you know outside of canon world. Probably you have never heard of A9iii. Buy/rent it and you would know what a real sport camera is. It is better than R1 in almost every aspects esp at a cheaper price. There is a reason why you see majority sport journalists use Sony camera. Even Canon photographers still use their old DSLR for their work. Canon is trying to play catch up to the two big boys but still fails after all these extra years of development. Canon is still too heavily on its DSLR market users as many havent switched to mirrorless yet as many would have chosen other brands if they did switch... Even R5M2 is better option than R1 in my opinion.

You’re probably talking about 1-5% out probably 10-30 shot bursts, bottomline its not gonna matter, all of them will have enough good shots to pick from but if you go by spec sheets rather than actually shooting sports, sure it would be a minus LMAO.
Oh yeah most sports events have enough lighting for ‘low light’ AF, don’t worry about it.
