Agree to avoid kit lenses, however, I will say if you are looking for a quality kit lens deal then fujifilm is the way to go. Standard 18-55 mm F2.8-4 OIS is solid with the XS-10/XS-20 is great.

Value is subjective! It’s only worth what a person feels it’s worth. RED has been overpriced from day one. They priced their gear for the uniqueness of the offerings. Plus they needed to pay for the R&D.

According to Google, the human eye can only see between 10-14 f-stops of dynamic range. So, 18 f-stops is unrealistic.

Someone commented on my video & mentioned the URSA Mini Pro 12K, and I honestly agree that is the actual competition to the KX. C400 and FX6 are just totally different tools. 5:05 - Brandon, you just described the Ronin 4D. The 4D has all the controls on the handgrips, including focus pulling. The transmitter is intergrated as well. So they have already done this.

going to jump in on the anamorphic section... i dont see the appeal. 16x9 works great for me, everyone seems to want to do their own weird aspect ratio. and i cant stand lens flare, it isnt creative, it ruins my shots. beyond those 2 things what does anamorphic change?

Just can’t be compared to the C400. You can create pros and cons if you wish. The red have had more production cons from the day they were dropped

Every GoPro camera I ever purchased and never used. I don’t scuba dive, surf board, bike or hand glide. But I convinced myself I needed every model like I did every one of my iPhones. But now, I can use the GoPro Black 5 & 6 with my ATEM & OSEE switchers using an USB-C to HDMI cable.

I think RED was losing the Nikon/RED lawsuit and that was their out to have had to sell RED for so little.

Nikon dropped many of their lens prices this week by about 30%. Its connected and a Nikon thing not a RED thing, RED is just part of whatever Nikon is up to.

here's a roll of the dice! maybe they are discounting them as they will be obsolete as now Nikon owns them the rf mount on new models will be removed and a Nikon mount be the new standard . So they need to get rid of all the old bodies already done with canon mounts as canon wont let them use the mount anymore ?? so 2025 the new RED Z mount bodies are all released. hence why the price drop on lower ones. as high end would be using PL mount woudlnt they ?

I’m definitely buying! I love the OG Komodo but to pair it with the KX I. Full frame would be a dream. For me it’s just Indy filmmaker’s dream.

My current BH cart is $10,211 for the KX. Imma be buying next week probably. 👍🏻

People who aren’t in the industry couldn’t care less about this it’s still very expensive and it’s only the brain it’s worthless without the accessories and it’s still a red camera

I have an fx30 Sony 18-105 Len but I just bought the sirui cine lens set.

I'm certified in After Effects, but I love Fusion and I stuck with Davinci Resolve because of it. I love the workflow of Davinci Resolve and Fusion. I was using it before it blew up. In fact, I was using it when folks claimed it wasn't a "real" NLE. Davinci has hella bugs, but the I enjoy the node flow in Fusion.

@jarrell You skipped over the Ursa 12k in BMD lineup. I cant wait until BMD puts the original Ursa 12k sensor into a smaller camera body like the Pyxis but with an L mount, so we are about to utilize a focal reducer & you should know what that means.

If you’re actually using KX to make $$ the price drop should not be an issue if you previously brought one.

Nikon just clearing inventory for a new Nikon Red camera with their own mount. I am sure this is to clear inventory.
