Thanks for another great video! I love watching these.
Mato, glad you're back. I was suffering from Mato withdrawal.
What a beautiful move, that queen sacrifice was unexpected for me. Thanks for the video.
the queen was deflected from defending f6
Wonderful! She is another genius like Judit!
KIITOS!! THANK YOU!!

Check my channel
Great Queen sacrifice, didn't see that knight would deliver the death blow.
incredible
These Polgars are pure dynamite! Especially Judit...
I thought that it was obvious that rook takes bishop is the best move... and then, queen sucrifice shocked me sso much.
She is amazing
"hie, this is Mato"..this is killer
At 3:50 could white take the bishop sacrificing the rook?, then:
1: queen takes rook and queen takes knight leading to checkmate
2: knight takes rook and queen takes queen with same results
right?
Yeah exactly what I'm thinking aswell
I am also curious why not Rd7, the only thing coming into my mind is black queen keeping white king in check - needlessly prolonging the game.
this is exactly what I thought as well
The Queen sacrifice was a badass variation and it definitely was a beautiful way to end the game, but the game was done pretty much after rook e7.all the same we can learn from both variations, credit to Mato for the good work.
If you take the bishop, the black queen can just go to c8 or e8, and you end up having to sacrifice the queen anyway. Her way is actually quickest.
Somewhat unrelated, but I need to ask: Is there a posibility to get Laszlo Polgar's book "Bring up genius" in English?
At 3:43 Ne4 was still possible.
Back must play Qxe7 then Qxb8+ Be8 Qxe8+ Qxe8 Nf6 mate.
White still sacrifices the Queen in this variation
Mato; please can I suggest an "amateur series" for us lousy players where you might commentate our best game so we can show it off? It's not a bad idea and I'd pay you for your analysis/service ...and your personality. :D -Murph
I'd like to see a match between Susan and Judit.
I have to spend my monatas on school material instead. College is just around corner. Both literally and figuratively, I live very close.
thats amazing
is rook takes bishop winning at 3:40? That's the move i'd play. I guess it's not as spectacular, but it looks like it's also winning, or am I wrong?
hm. queen f6 check is possible. may be it will be a perpetual check then.
thilo28ful Yeah, I see that. I still think that white has the advantage and can get out of a perpetual, but the move Susan played was much better.
yeah i thought the same ... and it's really winning ... after check in f6 ... king to g1 .. and after check in d4 , king to h1 .. and checks end ...
And what is with queen c8 ?
then queen b7 ...
it would be longer but in the game was the best move ...
LOL Polgar played like Tal -- sacrifice Bishop, Queen, ... and win.
Should remember this variation with Qh4 check
instead of queen sacrifice what about rook takes bishop on d7 i think it is a killer move too
At 3:05 wasn't the best move Qa5?
not sure, black could play Qh4 or Qf6 with check. I think the idea of the rook move is blocking the queen for going to those squares, giving perpetual check
Qh4+ wins the bishop on h6. Then white can only equalise after Re8+, Kg7, Rxh8, Kxh8, Qd8+, Kg7 and Qxb8. As the other guy said, the rook blocks off that check, preventing black from winning the bishop and more importantly clearing an escape route for their king.
3:19 the rook is a taboo 😂😂😂. Mato u r the best!
lol 😄
I'm interested in that program, but is she any good at teaching? Is there an interview that I could see that would showcase her teaching style?
Yeah, she is a great teacher too!
Susan Polgar is one of the most sought after, if not the most sought after trainer in the world. She is a FIDE Senior trainer with decades of experience coaching the US collegiate team and they win the championships every single year.

She's known for it. Her and her husband have produced an awful lot of chess videos.
Can someone explain why the queen sacrifice was necessary?
because after bd7 if white doesn't take the knight black queen takes the rook and there is no checkmate if white follows up taking the knight because black queen can block the mate on e8.. forcing the queen to take white queen makes check mate unavoidable
I think that if white goes directly into Ne4, then black can capture the rook which both attacks the night and defends e6 so the knight can't go there. By doing the sacrifice, black is forced to vacate the d8 square and thus won't be able to get to the knight in time.
If Black plays ... B-f5, then N-e4 is met by ... BxN and there is no checkmate by White. But when White plays QxN, then Black must play ... QxQ or White mates (QxQ #). So Black plays ... QxQ, and Black cannot play ... B-f5, which allows N-e4 and mate. Thus QxN confronts Black with two threats of checkmate -- via QxQ# or via N-e4, then N-f6#. Black can't stop both threats.
It was not necessary, rook takes bishop is just as deadly. but that offers black a way to lay check and take white bishop, extending the game. for far too many moves. Better to look for faster and more precise ways to play chess. The queen sacrifice was the fastest, and most spectacular way to checkmate.
Yeah, Rxd7 Qh4+ is variation I was focusing on. Thanks for the explanation
RxB was also winning; after Qf6+ , Ke2 and there are no more checks.
Qe5+
Iodine KOTH Yes, but the king moves to the queen-size.
doesn't matter where the white king moves. black queen takes the bishop and white will have a problem mating black king, but still white is winning in material (taking the knight with check)
Hey mato, im early so i hope you read this 😄
4:27 Was laughing too much than i should have
to lose against a woman
