I am proud to say that at the "Critical Move" I had the idea of sacrificing two bishops!
...of course I might have read the title of the video first.....
Drink a shot everytime you hear:
Hi it's Mato
RESIGNED
CRITICAL POSITION
Ignore the threat
BLECK
Can you spot it?
Mato is awesome this is just something i like to predict besides the moves. Proud subscriber.
***** "How would you continue? " :D
Killa Move!!
Monsta Knight!
Bleck played a move and white resigned.....
I came here just to see a Killa move ...
+Dusan Plavsic The Killa move or Tequila move?
I thought it was aquila move
tarrasch for best sadist of the year 1914
one of the most beautiful check mates that I have seen in your minatures so fare. I just memorized this game because it is so beautiful. :) Even if Tarrasch has spent one hour on the next move, just to be able to see like so many moves ahead… Respect :)
"Hi this is Mato, in this video I will show you a very spectacular chess game" Best opening line for Chess channels on RUclips. Iconic! Can you see the killa move?
I like how Tarrasch arranged the mate like a cross, really fits the whole "torture" theory
you are awesome mato..i developed interest recently in chess because of playing it on my mobile, but i now i have downloaded few books and your videos are really great for learning to play better. keep it going.
This is my best video to date. So explicit and riddled with so much humour. Thank you Mato!! I learn so much from your channel.
What an legendary masterpiece by Siegbert Tarrasch.....
This game was also in the book I was reading. I could NOT understand the sacrifices at first, and I always look up to your videos and you have ALL of those games! Thank you very much master :)
Great game Mato. One of your best videos yet. Thank you.
I've begun to click "like" on MatoJelic's videos straight away, before watching the thing, because I might forget at the end, because I've seen enough of these now to know that it is highly unlikely that I'm going to end up not liking the video.
I find these videos to be of just the right length, and just the right level of analysis for me, and I enjoy trying to find the Killah moves! :)
What an instructional game it is! Thank you Mato Jelic for the selection and presentation.
another amazing game from the most amazing chess channel on youtube! mad props to Mato for being one of the worlds best chess commentators!
Thank you very much, Mato! Some weeks ago I asked you to make a video about that game and now it's there! You can't imagine how happy I am! Many thanks again!
the game plays itself sometimes, if one looks it over well. hard to believe that last move could have been seen much ahead of time. brilliant
Thank you Mato. This was really nice game and nice commentary. Enjoyed this video a lot!
When i started watching your videos i didn't see a single 'killa move' , this game i saw them all.
Keep it up Mato!
One of your best yet. Thanks Mato
Lol Mato is so funny..."not the strrrongest move on earth"
'some people say tarrasch wanted to torture his opponent.... for longer' this just made my day..
cool video MatoJelic
"Taking king to no man's land for execution"! I lov the expression 😁👏
Again an excelent video Mato. Very nice game between 2 "enemy" players: Tarrasch was a (probably "the") major figure of traditional chess (e.g. Tarrasch's rule: place rooks behind passed pawns), and on the other hand Nimzowitsch is a major figure of the hypermodern revolution int the 1920s (for example Nimzo-Indian opening is named after him), which refuted Tarrasch's dogmatic teachings... successfully, despite this game ;)
I agree that this is one of your best videos!
i hve downloaded almost all your videos. its really good. keep up the good work..
One of the fun things about this game is that in the end position, after Black has made four sacrifices (including the original pawn) material is equal on both sides but the white king is dead on the wrong side of the board.
thank u very much Matojelic.. very good games.. i loved all of those in this category till 35 i am pretty sure i will love the remaing ones too :D.
Once again, thanks Mato. In the Mammoth book of Greatest Chess Games this is rated in the 3rd group, equal 11th-21st. But it's really helpful and enjoyable to watch your video.
I agree, simply the best and most talented
Great video, thanks Mato!! Tarrasch was a genius!!
Wow this was a very fun video mato :)
Love you dude, cheers
Hi Mato, I love your videos and would love to see more analysis of these old classics! I would love to see Tarrasch vs Lasker game four of their championship I think where Lasker made a very unorthodox move bringing his rook off the back rank quite early.
I agree with your choice. Nothing better than classical colors :)
Thanks Mato, this was a very beautiful game!
MATO u are the best man! I love your videos!
And what a game!
Chess, a mental torture.
Very enjoyable!!
They do not play like that any more. The competition is very big and puts pressure on the players. They want to be careful and take no risk.
to je odlična igra ... hvala mato
I found the move in 10 seconds where taraasch took 1 hour
!!!! thank you mato for being such a good teacher!!!
Great Video as always :P. Keep it up Mato
Thanks again Master Mato.
If we could request a video on the short game in your book where Nimzovisch defeats his opponent in 12 moves with the Ruy Lopez that would be most excellent !!!!!!!!!!!
Bb5# is the reason why we play chess, boys.
This is really one of my favorite chess games, it has almost everything as you have said, including a "pure mate" - albeit brutal - with three active pieces. And I am also pretty sure that at the 19th move Tarrasch was inspired by another game with double bishop sacrifices, the game between Lasker and Bauer played in 1889. Thanks and have a nice week!
Engin???
Gracias!! excelentes videos
pinning nothing!hahaha
indeed you're a great instructor. and I like the way you pronounce opening (like oypening) :P
Thank you for your comment
you are a really good teacher 'Mato'
The lifetime scores of Nimzovitch vs Tarrasch is N 5 , T 2, D 2, with the Tarrasch wins occurring in the earlier games and the Nimzovitch wins occurring more often in the later games. Nimzovitch stumbled in the beginning until he found his footing as he showed himself the better player. Let’s see some Nimzovitch wins.
One of the best games I've seen!
Great post Mato!
Thank you
"War is coming, we might as well sac our bishops now!"
From what I've read Nimzowitsch and Tarrasch absolutely hated each other and never missed an opportunity to put the needle in. In this case it's more like a sledgehammer!
Mato must have the highest rating in enjoyable Chess commentary - 2900+ !
What's amazing about this game, Tarrasch definitely saw the quick win, but went for the excruciating alternative just to rub it in.
mato...u r simply awsome
I can see board and pieces better when I use board and colors that I am currently using.
In short it is more eye(for my eyes) pleasing.
Nimzowitsch has really a tough chess life, this game is brutal !
I remember him been also humiliated by capablanca, been killed with the principles discribed is his own book.
That game was outrageous!
I get so excited when he says killa moob
Elegant.
Wow. Stunning. How was Tarrasch able to see so deeply? Just lots and lots of practise? Must be something else.
Patience anyone with 1 hour and a bit of chess knowledge can do great things on hard positions
+Johan Echeverria ''anyone''
Tarrasch is one of my top 3 players
hey mato, the person who disliked this video is a loser and got absolutely thrashed by you in a chess game. I love your videos. keep going!
Amazing game , thanks Mato
Need to master these double bishop sacs.
If you wanna see some very nice sacrifices by Nimzovich check out the game:NN vs Nimzowistch,Lund 1921.
Lovely game. Thank you.
I like saying Taraschhhh
"No-man's-land for execution!" I love all the Mato-isms spawning from down under!
very nice played!
very good game and commentary
It's like watching a Rocky Balboa fight.
I possibly would have considered the move pawn to d4 when I was at black position, but i must say, that i accidently spoiled it beacause first: I wouldn't knew all the variations and second, i accidently skipped to a part where i already saw the d4 pawn was captured! :(, my computer hung himself up, but my chess intuition would have probably saif the same,... the goal was to make white bishop free and destroying a little of king's pawn structure making white king more vulnurable!
great video thanks
Beautiful
1:58 "Lining black rook with the queen"
Man there are 8 square and 7 of them are full with pieces. But I love you Mato.
Prospektus Vys And two of those pieces were removed within the next three moves. X-ray attacks can be very effective when pieces start moving.
"..some people said that Tarrasch wanted to torture his opponent for longer"
[ahem...because he was hypermodern :) ]
Also very famous is to sacrifice a piece for gaining more control over the board, i was very happy when I saw it leads to the two bishop sacrifices, also I was looking for that at begining when d4 wasn't played, always scratching my beard and wondering if i can still pull it up after d4 (like d5 was always on my way) ;_; sorry pawn I didn't wanted to offend you!! Of course d Pawn, I will make you my 2nd Queen next time !!! Well... that sounds strange, doesn't it?
I love how you say "castle"
beautiful game
Awesome game!
awesome game i really liked it
what a sadistic game!
Great game!
incredible tarrash is sick
Best move in history in my opinion was Owen's Defense... Boy! What a killing move... Too bad I try and try and no one fells for it...
well done sir!
man....what a game!
Fire on board (deep words)
Very good game.
I didn't put this into any analysis software, but at 8:39, is black really winning? White still has plenty of compensation for the queen after Bishop C3. Yes, black is a little bit ahead, but white will still have 2 rooks, a bishop and 3 pawns (after Queen takes A2).
"..pinning nothing!"
haha..you made me snarf yo.
This guy is the uberdude
Thank you Mato :)
great game
Although I have not seen the game to the end, but @ 0:36, I prefer Knight to g5 instead of castle
check.... ma...teeeee..... nice narrative XD
amazing !
