Spending the summer in Huntington this year so I went I got myself a rod and reel to fish out of Centerport and cold spring harbor and surrounding areas. I’ve spent the last few days with no luck trying to catch a fluke. Awesome to see recent uploaded videos with the same ideas in mind. Hope you have a great rest of your summer and will be tuned in for the latest videos!
@@Bsprecksfishing I appreciate it! I’ve been having a good run past few days and have finally caught a couple fluke (undersized) but it’s what I was after! After losing a couple hi/low fluke rigs with a 1 oz weight I’ve switched over to using 1/4 oz jig head (various colors) paired with the white and pink tail gulps. I got some live bait squid and clams and prepped some to go baggies but haven’t bothered using any with the success I’m on gulp right now. Learning a lot as I go and it’s been a lot of work but nothing great comes easy! Thanks for the recent videos as they are always a blast to watch and learn from and keep updated on the word around town.
Thanks for the motivation. I haven't had a hit in weeks and brought my rods inside for a little bit while I focus on other activities. It's good to be outside no matter what, though.
It snapped 40 pound line? Now I see why nobody has anything nice to say about them! LOL But you did have us all HOOKED with anticipation! Next month the Crabs will be worth keeping. Make a nice red sauce with them!
Hi Brian! Yep yesterday was a mixed bag for us on my brother’s boat. We started out shadowing the charter boats on the east side by the lighthouse and then did a long drift from the bridge to Democrat. Couple of short flatties, bunch of robins, couple of dogs, decent size porgy and a baby black. Wasn’t a great day. Was texting a mate on the Gillen and said they weren’t doing much better. It was blowing too hard to run the inlet.

Can u post ur pole and reel and stuff?
Rod is a 10’ tica surge, I believe, with a tsunami saltx 6000 and 40lb powerpro superslick
What do you do after you catch the ray
I broke that one off, can’t land it on the pier
@@Bsprecksfishing same
How do you like the tsunami saltx reel? I have the same one
It’s fine, I use it as a chunking reel
Haven’t really tested out the fully sealed claim
Thanks for watching!
No Dogfish this morning?
Saw one guy get one
Thanks for watching!
What was that ? You left me in suspense! I know it wasn’t a damn crab, lol.
You could see it surface at one point, a roughtail stingray. Then it broke me off
Do you think you would have been able to pull that ray over the railing? Looked like a good size.
@@jenniferbrennan2413 I couldn’t even lift it off the sea floor when it dug in, that’s how my 40lb line snapped
nice! I was at smiths point this morning. It was rough out there
@@jny78 yeah, hard south wind
