The ABS/PSM modulator really should have been activated for each wheel circuit while the bleeding was going on. On my '09 Boxster there was quite a bit of air trapped in one or two circuits in the modulator. Getting that air out resulted in a big change in pedal feel. A very solid and linear pedal was the result.
That's normally not needed unless you change the ABS pump itself. I've always had a great pedal feel and even better after bleeding. Definitely doesn't hurt to activate the pump, but I don't have the software to do that step.
You know what they say about asking how much something costs... You're the second person asking me about the gloves...are they really not that common? You can find them at your local hardware store in the "orange nitrile glove" aisle.

Damn! Those wheels are getting flossy! What’s the hourly rate at the garage? And lastly where do I get safety orange nitrile gloves?!
