Had similar for a few years now seems to help with saving tyres, do it slightly different to you, all I do is jack each wheel up and slide under, once I have connected the wheel lock, great video mate.

Nice one. We also have the compatible levelling blocks but I managed to snap the thinnest part of the tyre saver whilst positioning the van on one a while ago so my advice would be to make sure you’ve a solid, even foundation right underneath the saver we must have been over a lumpy small stone. I was surprised it snapped given how solid the plastic feels! We were on a sort of part gravel, part grass woodland pitch at Crossways at the time.

It was a while ago now but I suspect because they do feel very sturdy that I wasn’t really putting any effort into checking the ground under them. Our van is 1400kg max so assuming it was fairly well loaded a lot of weight on one bit of plastic, albeit very sturdy feeling. Thanks again for sharing :)

Hi Martin, yes we use these stops you getting flat spots in the tyres well worth the money. Also protects your tyres when on a gravel pitch 👍

Yep, you said you'r get them, and you have, nice one Martin, I am sure they are better than letting your tyres linger long on the ground/surface.
Had mine from Towsure in December, about £14(but cannot remember for sure?) a little more rounded or shaped than the Millenco one.

Hi Martin I use the Nemesis Ultra wheel lock on site and additional to the
Al-Ko’s in storage. The Nemesis is a doddle to fit. I bought it on-line for £100 need to shop around I’ve seen it for more.

How have you gotten on with these since you’ve had them, I do like the idea of it spreads the load of the tyre opposed to just one point of contact with the ground.
They have been great. If we are on hard standing pitches for a decent length of time we use them on the pitch. The only thing to consider is that the pitch needs to be level, can’t put them on the ramp!

How do these save the tyre?
It is still resting on a hard surface. 😳
I wondered that initially, they are supposed to help prevent flat spots on the tyre and protect them when on gravel or stone pitches. I have started using them when I can on sites. Thanks for comments and watching 🙂

Thanks Martin for posting this. Any update on their effectiveness? I put some wood under the steadies at the storage yard, but within a week they were covered in earwigs and woodlice, so think I will stick to plastic.
Well from what I can tell they seem to be doing the trick, I used them on stone or gravel pitches as well. Stops any sharp shines cutting into the tyres whilst on pitch for a while. Our caravan service engineer rated them so that’s good enough for me. We use a mixture of wood and bricks under the steadies on storage but have been looking at the plastic blocks.

Hi Martin was thinking of purchasing a pair of these tyre savers and was wondering how you got on with them over the time you have used them ?or is there any other product out there which you think would do a better job?stay safe during the 2nd lock down mate 👍
Hi Steven, from what I can tell they are doing the job. When I had my van serviced the mechanic rated them so that’s good enough for me. We always use them on gravel pitches these days. Thanks for comments and watching, stay safe, Martin

Id like someone to explain the science as I cant see how these or the tyre cushions work. All the caravan/car weigh and gravity is still pressing down for a long period of time on a small section of the tyre , whereas the rest of the wheel doesn't have any weight .
Wish I was a scientist! For me it stops all the stones on the storage ground sitting pushing into the tyre causing possible damage.
Have you reviewed these again after using for 1 year? Would you suggest they are worthwhile? Thanks
They seems to be doing the job. We use them if we are going to be on a hard standing pitch for a while, when we had our van serviced the mechanic said they were worth it so that’s good enough for me. cheers

A year on, are you still using them do you think they are doing a good job?
Yes we still use them. The caravan has been on axle stands since October so no weight on the tyres. I still have them under the tyres though. Our service engineer rated them so that's good enough for me. We do use them on gravel pitches which works well. Cheers

Good one Martin- did the van line up ok with the Alco ?. I usually am nudging back n forth with the remote to line up the lock and wonder how easy it is once it’s on the milenco- Thanks again 👍🏻
Hi Howard, yes it was ok, just a minor adjustment, I think putting them at the side of the wheel while the lock was on helped, and they didn’t move when moving the van on them. Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 👍
