    Hi Martin I use these but only when storing over the winter to stop flat spots like other comments they are a right pain in the butt if you are using the Alko Wheel Lock unless you jack up the van to get them in position.

      We usually put our van on axle stands over the winter, takes all the load off the tyres. Thanks for watching

      Hi Martin I used to do that but it's not allowed if your van is insured with the CAMC insurance seemingly it would take too long to get van off stands in an emergency say if in storage someone else's van caught fire for example.

    Great idea to do updates. Those seem like the perfect solution for winter storage or on gravel. Great advice and backed up by using the product. 😃👍🏻 Trev

      Hi Trev, definatly protects the tyres. Axle stands over the winter for us. Hope you are both well, cheers

    Hi Martin. Great idea with the tyre saver. We are still using axle stands for when the caravan is not being used for long periods of time. Paul and Sarah

      Hi Paul & Sarah, yes as you know we use the axle stands during the winter months. Better to take the load off the tyres, cheers

    Still in two minds about these. I replace the tyres on my van, when they are between 5 and 7 years old and they always look in good condition when they come off. Maybe, I just don't like spending money 😂. Thanks Mark

      You are always getting deliveries of stuff for your van! Helps the tyres stay in good condition. cheers

    I just lift my caravan on axle stands until the tyres are off the ground over winter

      Yes we do the same over winter. cheers

    They look good 👍 wonder if our storage yard would put them under for us 🤔 suppose its worth asking.

      They should do if you request it, worth asking the question, cheers

    In theory the tyres should work well with the product it will always keep the same shape just make sure tyres are Pumped up well

      I usually check the pressures whilst is storage every few weeks, don't want the tyre walls damaging. cheers

    I've got some of these and only use them in the winter storage when the van is not moving for a long period of time to help avoid any flat spots. In two minds if its worth it because you should change the tyres, whatever condition after 5 years and wonder if they really help or not. I'll still use them in the winter only though.

      Our van is sometimes sat for up to 7 weeks so for us worth using. Thanks for watching

    How do you line the alko wheel lock?

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  2 года назад +1

      I don’t, I have ditched the Alko lock for a Nemesis. Much easier to use.

    Hi Martin, An informative video. Do you know if there is any easy way to use these in conjunction with Alko wheel locks?

    • @Woody4796
      @Woody4796 3 года назад

      I was thinking the same, all i could think of was getting it in position then jacking the van up to rotate the wheel... pain in the a** those wheel locks

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  3 года назад

      They seem to do the job. Thanks for watching

      When I used the Alko lock I put the caravan in its bay with the Alko lock receiver in the right place then put the tyre save at the side of the wheel, moved the van forward and slid the tyresaver sideways, then reverse the van back on to them. Seemed to work but the Alko looks are a pain. Cheers
