    Jonathan, thanks for the inside look on the EV auctions and for updating your setup to use screen recordings instead of your phone camera. Much better quality and much appreciated.
    Do you have any insights why Octopus is selling off less than 1 year old cars at auctions? Many with low mileage and decent grades.

      Thanks Daniel, its not unusual for funders to get 'early returns ' on lease vehicles for a variety of reasons , drivers left the company's sal sacrifice scheme, lease holder looses job , etc etc , with the 1000's of evs leased , just a small % get returned early.

      @@JonathanPorterfieldAs a former Tesla Model 3 and Kia eNiro driver, I totally agree. Pound for pound the Kia is one of the best EVs in the real world and with Tesla opening up their charging network to other marques it’s going to make long distance travel so much easier for all.

    At 19:45 the low mileage MG4 got a provisional bid of £15800 which is a lot less than the cost of s new car. 🤔

    Great Vid quality compared to the older vids, I take it you captured this on a screen recorder, and I hope it works out for the future vids.

    Is now a good time to buy a model 3 ?

    Hi Jonathan, I've noted a few of your EV auction insights. I'm exploring Tesla Model S, old models with free supercharging. Do these come to auction, if so, does the free supercharging still apply when purchased at auction through yourself? WHat's your thought.

    • @JonathanPorterfield
      @JonathanPorterfield  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi , its increasingly rare to find a free supercharging S , most where ex lease that come off lease in around 2018/19 on 2015 /16 registered S with free superchanging.
      Any private owned S that didnt go back to Tesla in part ex kept the free supercharging if sold on .
      If part ex into tesla network they turned off free charging , then sold older S via BCA

    An enjoyable watch seeing what happens, thank you Jonathan. What does provisional mean? It looked like those cars didn't meet the cap clean price so they might decide not to sell it? Is the cap price like a reserve? And they don't wanna sell anything below cap? Thank you.

    • @JonathanPorterfield
      @JonathanPorterfield  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Mick , provisional means its not met the funders (seller) reserve, they set what they want , usually based on CAP values etc.
      All funders have their own 'agenda' , for example , if they have 50 vehicles that owe them say £600,000 then if they reach that figure , they may 'let go' any vehicles that are 'close too cap' in order to liquidate the assets, so its a phone call to the highest bidder a few hours after the sale with a 'yes' or 'we need a few £100 more' , or it will go through another sale a week later.

      Great explanation thank you@@JonathanPorterfield . Protecting their own backsides and not giving the car away well below market value. You can understand it though as they may well get cap if they relist the week after. But it was nice to see that ID4 on the other video go below cap. So looks like it is possible sometimes for us to snaffle a good price? I may be tempted to go down this route for a small cheap EV. You've certainly opened my eyes to this whole piece, so thank you, keep up the great work.

    Another dumb question, sorry. Most of these cars seemed to be 1 or 2 years old coming off lease etc. Is the warranty transferable? ie if you buy something still within warranty are you able to claim against that if you find a problem after purchase? I think the VW EV warranty is 3 years for example. Just wondering what your rights are and what protections you have if you buy something that doesn't end up looking as good as it seems. Thank you.

    • @JonathanPorterfield

      All warranties stay with all vehicles from date of registration in uk ,regardless of the number of owners , or where its bought from , so exactly the same cover if bought from main dealer OR auction.
      Ive heen selling vehicles this way since 2004 !

    So grade 1 vehicles are best condition ? Grade 2 would have carpark dents or some light scratches etc ?

      @@JonathanPorterfield ok cheers , I expect there are good and not so good within each of the grades , ie a brand new car is a grade 1 .
