    because of Dr Scholtz, when my husband was diagnosed this channel helped guide him to insist on a MRI and a guided guided biopsy, and the pet scan, he went to two urologist that did. It want to consider the guided Biopsy and MRI, my husband finally found the best hospital that has a wing for urology/oncology and he had all of the above testing, he is 76 and was diagnosed stage 4 but with the great oncologist and the right hormones and radiation he is doing FANTASTIC…. Better then we could have hoped for considering the stage of cancer he was told he had…
    Thank you to this channel, you are helping so many men deal with prostate cancer

    Thanks so much for these videos it helped me make my decisions. I realize how important it is to do your own research as my doctors did not inform me of options that were available. Possibly due to financial incentives. These videos are informative
    ,logical, and on point from everything I have researched.

      Sadly, financial considerations more often then we wish seems to be very prominent in how our treatment is done. We must teach ourselves as much as we are capable just as some kind of protection?

    Here we go with sleepless nights. I did radiation for 20 sessions, I was diagnosed with unfavorable intermediate prostate cancer , PSA as high as 14.1. After treatment it dropped to .01, 3 months later .49, 2 months later .51,,,3 months later 3.1 (YES),, 2 months later 4.24. My head is spinning 😮. Just had a pelvic CT scan, waiting on the results but what I'm seeing on this video and others this scan is useless. Also Im schedule for a skeleton scan two weeks from the pelvic scan, again another useless procedure. Im preparing for the worst. Metastasis in the lymphs and bones. New Year is bringing many challenges

    I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer at 54 years of age in 2019. PSA of 10 (fast rising) Gleason 7 (4+3) Grade 3. I had external beam radiation for 9 weeks. I chose not to do hormone therapy. My PSA reached its nadir of 0.7 2 years in. Now, I am 5 years since treatment and the last 3 PSA tests have been rising. Up to 1.38 now. Anybody had this experience? Was it a reoccurrence or just the PSA "Bounce"? I am scheduled with my former oncologist in a week but wondering what others have experienced.

    Had prostate removed four years ago I'm 66 years PSA went from 0.06 to 0.24 in that time. Had pet scan done recently says there is one small spot in the bed where the prostate was. Should I jump into radiation therapy and hormone therapy right away or should I watch my PSA level and if PSA level goes up again then reconsider radiation and hormone therapy. Another question do I have to do radiation and hormone therapy or can I do one or the other

    What about after surgery and the psa never goes down to zero but is still fairly high? Is this still considered a recurrence ?

    • @elitetrader5468
      @elitetrader5468 Год назад +1

      If the PSA was never undetectable then that's not a recurrence that's a persistently elevated PSA so salvage RT would be recommended.

  • @grapes3435
    @grapes3435 2 года назад +1

    I had a biopsy with a Gleason of 3+4. We decided to have a radical prostatectomy. Post operation it was determined to be Gleason 3+3, margins were clear, no seminal vesicle invasion, and lymph nodes were clear. There was EPE. My PSA was clear for 1.5 years but now has been slowly growing every 3 months(0.021, 0.028,0.036, 0.047) Decipher test shows low risk (0.24). On one hand Gleason 6, clear margins, and low Decipher risk. On the other hand my PSA is increasing. How worried should I be about this and what could be causing the rising PSA?

    • @robertmonroe3678
      @robertmonroe3678 Год назад +2

      Perhaps your biopsy was accurate in terms of 3+4 and your post-prostatectomy pathology read of 3+3 was inaccurate.
      Rather than vice-versa.

    • @elitetrader5468
      @elitetrader5468 Год назад

      Don't stress. Your PSA is rising super slow and your Decipher risk is low. This bodes well for you. However, this is likely to be real given you are having a consistent rise. Talk to your doctor. You could go for salvage RT now or wait until the PSA gets above 0.1. It does help to give yourself 2 years to heal from the surgery though. I was in a similar situation and just had salvage RT once my PSA crossed 0.1

    • @elitetrader5468
      @elitetrader5468 Год назад +1

      @@grapes3435 You might as well start planning for treatment now. It takes a couple weeks of planning/tests prior to starting at which point your PSA will be above 0.1. The earlier the better. Unfortunately, this is real given your consistent upward rise. Wishing you the best. This disease is horrible.
