"the glory of RUclips is, you got to see me waste the money and you didn't have to" has never been a more accurate statement! This Channel is so underrated! Well put together videos, informative and honest! Keep up the awesome build! Glad you are going to use Rubicon parts! This thing will be SICK!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I hate to say i told ya so buddy,, IFS has to be a selectble locker ,man sorry this all happened.. yes and Rough Country lifts are bad news.. i put a Bilstein 2” lift in mine , a (2006 KJ) the 5100’s with OME springs , its been 2 years still the same height it was when i put it all together .. 👍
I did the rough country (RC) full front-rear suspension upgrade on my libby. Rear is still at same height yet the front started to sag. I will throw 1/4" spacers on top of front struts, yet I am pretty sure that it will continue to sag. Thus, my plan for this summer is purchasing OME springs and combine with RC sturts, as their spring rating is higher than RCs. I hope it will solve the issue. I wonder your SAS project on the front.
You should make some front bumpers., the one you made is nice. Have you ever weighed it? Great video, thanks for the update. I have 4” lift on my 2012 arctic ed. i went with 255/70/16” toyo open country very please with the drive
I priced a local guy to cut out pieces so I could sell a “build/weld your own” kit. When I got the price quote back it was not competitive at all with already made and available bumpers unfortunately. I was close to doing my own KK accessory line until the big price hike.
Man, I wonder if anyone makes a better spring. I really wanted this front suspension to work but at this point it’s not wise to continue with this setup.
Thank you sir for uploading these videos! I plan to buy myself a Liberty too and use it as both a wheeler and a daily car here in Europe. Your videos have been super informative and just pleasant to watch. I can't wait to see where this goes next!
I have a 2012 Jeep liberty and everything you're saying is exactly what I thought. I knew it was inevitable that I would put a straight axle under the front, independent front suspension flat out just sucks If you're using it in any off road capacity for its main purpose. I love the dimensions of the liberty it's big enough for me to sleep in while camping being 6 Foot 4 It's just the IFS IFS up front being the weak link . Keep up the great work I'm not giving up on my liberty just yet . Love the videos keep it coming.
The bad thing is, I really wanted to make this front suspension work but it’s not financially wise. You’re right, the aluminum Dana 30 and the rest of it is just too weak to really beat on. I’ll definitely keep the videos coming! Thank you!
Better springs to fix the sag in front? What year is this rig? How did you snap that winch rope, were you hoisting a heavy woman up a tree again to get her cat?
Better springs would probably fix the sag. I should’ve tried that or at least gave it a shot but the Jeep is heading a different direction now. It’s a 2012. No hoisting of large women this time, but it did have to do with a tree! Was cleaning up some trees on my property and got a little carried away!
Great video and thanks for the insights.. i have a KK 12 with the 2.5 lift from RC, BFGs ATs and 1.25 spacers. just 40K miles. getting ideas to the next mods
I've found that in the front a limited slip works great and a selectable locker in the rear has been more than enough for everything I've done. As far as getting any sort of consistency on the front end swapping over to a "coilover" setup similar to JBA works really well. In my case I had a set of adapter pucks made to convert a standard fox 2.5 adjustable coilover to thread in and work with our Clevis forks (I swapped over to a KJ cast clevis vs using the stamped KK clevis forks they're a little bit shorter and thinner which give you some more room for the CV to avoid binding) I've built this platform about as far as you can go without changing the front lower control arms or solid axle swapping the front. I'd love to send over photos and info if it would help you get ideas for your next iteration! I'm currently sitting at about 3.5inches of lift on 33's [not the happiest with a 33. 32's are more than enough] but could easily push to 4.5inches they way it's built right now.
It sounds like you’ve definitely put more time and effort into your build than I have this one! I’m currently in the process of putting a rubicon dana 44 under the front. I definitely could’ve chosen better lockers! I haven’t decided if I want to keep all my extra parts and build another KK on 31’s or 32’s as a daily driver what yet. If I decide to build another one I will definitely pester you! There’s many things I wish I would’ve thought about more and planned out better!
Hey man ! Love the videos I've started building a jk and was gonna get lockers eventually so I'm glad you made this video ill probably skip out on the front one now ! Love the build it looks awesome!
@@mitchellboyd9024 thank you! Sounds like you are on the right track for a very capable Liberty! Glad you’re staying tuned! I know uploads are slow but I am super busy this time of year at the Mill!
Awesome channel!!! I have a 2012 did the 31s and the 2.5 lift and it looks great however after a few months it started to sag :( and I have been considering more mods but you videos answered alot of day dreams of a massive lift lol I may be selling mine it's black on black 4x4 130,000miles $6000 if interested let me know and I can send you more details
Thank you! I appreciate it! From what everyone else says you have to spend good money and get good struts and springs if you don’t want the sag! How far from Ohio are you? May be interested if you’re not too far!
My 09 liberty kk has a little over 200k on it. I'm about to change the suspension out all around. Never done this before but I'm capable 💯 so my question is do you have any suggestions on brand. I'm going to go with a 2inch lift as well.
I agree!!! I’m in progress on a video at the moment! Hopefully have a video upload this month or the first week of the next month! Work has been kicking my butt!!!
That much lift will but everything in a bind. That’s pretty will what I tried to do on mine and it didn’t work too well. It was a lot of work to get it to work and it still didn’t do very good.
My liberty has the OME lift and had 245/75x16 tires Cooper Disco STT and not much else done to it. The tires have finally wore out and it was feeling rough and straining for any power. I went back to slightly smaller tires, AT style, and it is much smoother and quieter on the road. It needed to be geared down to 4.10's with the larger tires and more clearance since they were rubbing at near full turn. I would like to get a different rear and front bumpers, with swing out spare tire mount and fuel can holder on rear and receiver hitch in front for a portable winch. It probably needs a suspension freshening since it's been on for about 15 years. And strip all the gray plastic flares off and do flat fenders. Wish I had watched all the other videos you made about this but this is the first one. Mine is a 2002.
From what I understand OME seems to be about the best stuff out there for these Libertys. The cooper disco STT is a great tire! I’ve ran it on several HD trucks I’ve had and they have always wore great and lasted a while! This Liberty is getting 5.13 gears and I hope that puts the pep back in it. It’s pretty sluggish now. I plan on building a rear tire carrier for this one soon. Stay tuned for more!
Oooo I want that bumper

I think the issue is the cost to potential return That is the problem....
I find it difficult To justify the cost expenditure
I had to learn the hard way like always!
@@millwright15 right there with ya.... I'm so tired of second guessing myself which inevitably ends up damn near doubling costs....

if you do sell the bumper, ill buy it if at a reasonable price, I have an 07 so if it doesnt fit, ill make it fit :)

That's where I'm at But it's looking like custom Springs is the best Option .. It's just hard to justify Is economically
I was going to try a different spring but I decided against it. I’m ready to spend money on this project in a different direction!

Even my OME HD springs have sagged. It was perfect when first installed.
Man, I wonder if anyone makes a better spring. I really wanted this front suspension to work but at this point it’s not wise to continue with this setup.

What kind of locker should I get for the front?
I’d recommend an ARB air locker! That is, if you really want to spend the money!

I’d just go with a 2 inch spacer lift. Still keep factory ride and gain the look you’re going for.
So I have an 08 kk on the 2.5 lift. How were you able to fit 33s without rubbing
Oh, buddy. Watch the previous videos on what I did to make it happen. Too much to explain. The videos do it better justice.

Where did you get a front bumper like that for it?
I built this one. But, At The Helm (ATH) makes bumpers for the Liberty
I have a 2009 jeep Liberty I want to add lift kit 2.5 inch supreme suspension with spacers supreme suspension also 1.5 inch
What is ur opinion

Quite possibly……
Hey I have a Jeep Liberty for sale. 2008. Great condition!
What bumber do you have?
I built it, buddy! Was going to market it but steel was cheap when I built this one, now everything is outrageous.
where are you i may have intrest in the bumper
Hey have you thought about selling your bumper
Brother, at this point I’m not even sure where the bumper is.
To bad this vid 11 months old I want the bumper an I wanna do the fender but somehow a cleaner closed inner fender
Have no idea why I didn’t see this! The bumper has been “reanimated” and the fenders are going to be pretty interesting!
You defeated the purpose by taking out four-wheel drive
Well, it was 4wd. Technically still had 3 wheel drive after I broke the front axle.
