I hope you waited till the full weight of the kj was on the ground before you tightened the suspension bolts. Mainly for the rubber bushing preload. The flex joints should be fine. If you would have loosed the lower control arms. The assembly would have gone in much easier. You have to get a front alignment anyway.
Excellent video, I just bought the Moog but I will definitely buy this one, my KJ has the same lift but with spacers and blistein B8 shocks, but this boomerang definitely looks better, I'll tell you later, greetings from Mexico!
Good info. There is more than one way to cook a egg. I was trying to follow the IRO instructions. But we all know how that works. 😆 Thanks for watching.
@@TomaszbtdZiobrowski for sure! I wanted to do a SAS but now I might be interested in this IFS as I just purchased some JBA uppers. Thanks again for the advice.
Do you think if you loosened the front cradle bolts and let it drop down about an inch that you would have had an easier time getting the front end back together with the taller strut assembly?
The kk clevis will give you 3/4 inch of lift when swapped with the KJ clevis. The KK clevis is longer because the spring rate is lower on the kk springs. So when you swapped in the kk assembly. You did nothing to add lift with that set up.
exactly. kk clevis forks give bonus lift with kj coilovers. I use both, kk clevis forks and 1" ring for normal clevis lift in my crd libby. Driver side was hard to assembly but doing that second time you can do it alone :)
I'm on my 3rd set of struts. Brand new and go to store and they bottom out just going over a speed bump. Anyone else have this problem with their liberty
I hear you! Like everything else so many different terms for the same part. I call parts yard called it a shock assembly, IRO called it a strut and Jeep calls it a Coilover shock. Thanks for watching
I did not. I matched the angles with an angle finder. Match the output on the rear of the transfer case to the angle of the pinion on the rear differential. Good luck 🍀dialing yours in. Thanks for watching 👊
Adjusted the length for the correct pinion angle along with adjusted the length so the wheels and tires sits back in the center of the wheel opening with new spacing lift. Thanks for watching!
I run TJ Wrangler Moab wheels on 305/70/16 which are a little larger than recommended so I had to trim the front bumper and the inner fender pinch welds. Good luck 🍀 with your project 👊
@@MacsSpecialitiesMotorsports the ones in the dodge nitros are stamped steel. I'm about to order 2 and I'm gonna weld in 3 inch extensions. I'm not sure why someone doesn't build these instead of the lift blocks. I don't see why this wouldn't work. I'm thinking I will need different upper A arms though before I proceed with this experiment
Anyone out there reading comments Dont let your calipers hang by the brake lines
💯 Thanks for sharing 👊

All good advice. Thanks for sharing. I ordered some JBA upper control arms so more to come along with an alignment. Thanks for watching👊
Bad ass kj. What size rims and tires?
Thanks 👊 The tires are 305/16 on TJ Moab wheels!

Thanks for watching. The upper and lower control arms in the rear along with the flex joints are worth the price of the lift alone. Thanks CMAC
Svaka čast majstore posebno pozdrav za malog pomoćnika koje su dimenzije guma
We are currently rolling with DC 32" tires and Jeep TJ Moab wheels. Thanks for watching
Love this. I want mine to exactly look like this.. Wow. I would like Bilstein shocks
Yeah 👍 for the price of the kit I feel like you can’t be it and it completely transformed the Liberty into a real Jeep. Thanks for watching 👊
Here is the lift kit used in the video. www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/kj-25-premium-series-lift-kit.html
6:47 and to add to Robert's remarks: of course you can remove and put in assembled coilovers - just pull cv axle.

@@MacsSpecialitiesMotorsports yeah, sure. but I would go with bilstein shocks and ome or dobinsons springs in front, not spacers.

Not a bad idea but I wonder if the cradle would walk away from you while trying to installing the strut. Thanks for watching 👊
So u have to use kk rear shocks and it's coil springs
We used the front struts from a 2009 Jeep Liberty KK. Thanks for watching 👊
Take the CV nut off. It allows for so much more drop to put that lower bolt back in.
Great advice 👍 I could see how that would help. Thanks for sharing 👊

Good Stuff. Thanks for the info

Did you try Bilstein shocks, I know like the KJ guys like them with old man emu springs. Good luck with resolving the strut issue!
and how much lift did you get? measuring from centre of the wheel to the edge of fender?
I wish I could for you but the KJ is now front fenderless 🫢 Thanks for watching!
Their coil over shocks. Even says so in the Jeep factory manual.

Ok so did it need aligned
Oh yes for sure 👍 but I installed JBA upper controls before I got the alignment done. Thanks for watching 👊
Question, I have the iron rock upper & lower adjustable arms also. Did you have any issues with pinion angle on the rear differential?
I did not. I matched the angles with an angle finder. Match the output on the rear of the transfer case to the angle of the pinion on the rear differential. Good luck 🍀dialing yours in. Thanks for watching 👊
Whats the measurment done for the upper and lower control arms ?

After your lift what size tires did you run

Why can't you just weld a 2.5 inch extension on the lower strut assembly bracket?
The Struts forks are cast steel so that would be a tall task but it would be cool to see someone try it. Thanks for watching 👊

REAR SHOCKS?
Yeppers. The kit from IRO comes with the rear shocks. They look to be a generic brand of shocks but have been good so far. Thanks for watching.
i just used shocks for a 99 dodge dakota in the rear @@MacsSpecialitiesMotorsports
