Michael LEMMO. One of your absolute best performances. Both in terms of song selection, tone and technical execution. But especially the fact that you didn't do Hendrix/Eddie/Zep/Guns/etc. And also because you didn't once fall into familiar lead patterns. Your execution of She Loves You, felt true notes of passion and sweetness. The guitar is beautiful, and I would love to own it. But as an old ,cancer fighting, Navy Veteran living on Social Security, that ain't happening. But one can dream.
Start from 5:45 what tone is that what effect is that? Pls someone who know???? IM newbie at guitar effect, that sound like organ or something ,i like it
Something about that maple top looks off. Look closely around 8:36 of the clip at the light reflecting off the top. The top appears to have physical ripples horizontally in parallel with the neck up and down the outer bout. It's not the burl illusion of the stain and grain, it looks like the wood wasn't planed flat or the planer worked the wood unevenly.
These are intresting, there's also the earlier Vegas models (Standard and High Roller) built a similar way with the flat top over a chambered body (more of an offset waistline body though, and the non-reverse Firebird/Trini Lopez headstock too boot!)
@jorgemaduenoaguilar581 I gigged for years with a Midtown Custom, and I never had any trouble with the richlite. It felt smoother to me, so I personally prefer it over ebony.
I love ebony too but there were no alternatives for midtown. I own a Gibson with richlite and a Parker with ebony on the fretboard. the world upside down 😂
@@bigbromiki1 well there is the ES-339, a smaller take on the 335, and it's about the same width as a Les Paul, but that has the traditional laminated top, back and sides around a center block construction. And the Midtown has a flat top.
Richlite era is approximately 2011 (after the government raid) to somewhere in 2019... however there are some real ebony fingerboards on a few limited run or custom shop guitars, as the raid didn't take all of the ebony boards away. (Raid was about whether or not Gibson was doing their due diligence acquiring/importing ebony, and other vulnerable or rare woods the correct and sustainable way. Pretty sure almost everything was returned to Gibson in 2019. This also led to Gibson trying some odd but cool guitars with maple or roasted maple fretboards, and granadillo fretboards.)

By far one of the best episodes!
What a beautiful instrument!
Very attractive instrument...Such a soothing guitar...I only watch Guitar of theDay when you are playing, Michael...You do such a terrific demo.
Michael, great episode of the Gibson Midtown Deluxe! Happy playing brother.
Great job! Beautiful guitar! Loved “She Loves You “. Thanks Jen. Byeee.
Beautiful guitar Lemmo! Awesome set! Awesome video Jen! Never disappointed! Thank you!
This Gibson is Amazing... 💯
My Gibson Midtown Custom is Number One on the menu for gigging. Great looking, and basically a Les Paul under the hood with way less weight.

What pedal got turned on at 5:44?
He is so good💪😎👍

imo Lemmo is the most versatile player ever.
Whoa, that's a pretty cool model..
Had a midtown custom. I regret ever selling it…..
The fretboard is richlite
Sound great! Is stable and beautiful
Ebony was be better? I don't know.
I had a ocean blue and i love it. Only 150 guitars. So specials

These are cool but they are just routed out bodies, not hollowbody construction like a 335. The fingerboards on there are usually richlite, not ebony.
Chambered mahogany body with a maple top is probably the best description I've heard about these.
@@joermnycbasically a les paul shaped like a 335 thats been chambered

Looks good and clearly works ..
What effect were you using for the second song you played on this video, I love the sound of that chorus pedal or?
Orleans. Nice.
Anyone know what the pedal he used on the mid pickup “she loves you” play thru??
All praise Micheal Lemmo and his Godlike Guitar Skills if only the guitars came with his skills I suck eggs at it😂
Ebony or richlite?
Fretboard is Richlite on these, not Ebony.
@@subrosablues correct, Ive never seen a single one of these advertised as ebony of the specs.

@@joermnyc no, this is 100% not ebony. All the midtown models used composite boards.
@@bigbromiki1 right, as you play it Richlite darkens due to oils in your fingers so it looks more like ebony, but it has no grain like ebony.
I play left-handed so there’s no such thing as a 339 or that which is what that is an early 339 so I got a semi hollow telecaster with P90 the bomb
Great, now the prices of Midtowns are gonna go up. I've got 4 and want more, but I can't afford it if everyone finds out how great they are.
Can you post your websute? Also, I have a friend that does design if you want to contact her her for designs, do let me know.
Yo
He is such a great guitarist. So many great musicians, where are the great bands and songs? I dont get it.
A Rolls Royce w/ burl wood appointments.
Actually that's a richlite neck.
Gees only open two and a half men ?
Plastic binding is tacky. Gibson will never be an actual lutherie company.
That, was weird....
