      @@omarezzar3416 Chapati is Kenyan/Tanzanian. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Tunisia had a similar style unleavened bread. Kinda like how China makes a bread the same way. In China they just adds scallions and call it a scallion pancake.

      @@omarezzar3416 nope . Indian . It’s called Roti as well as chapati in India . Chapati is from Hindi word chapta meaning flat .
      Paratha is what she is making and word comes from the Vessel used to make the dough called as Paraat and also has layers that is known as parat ( literal meaning layers )

      We also have variety of dry biscuits that are flaky and sweet to go with the chai, palwari etcs love them

    In Pakistan, it is called "partoun wala paratha"(layered paratha). It's eaten in breakfast, with hot milk tea.

      Msemen are from North Africa not Morocco, it’s very popular in Tunisia and Algeria, my Tunisian friends call them « Mlewi » but Moroccans literally appropriate every single North African speciality

    Grew up making and eating this in Ethiopia too. We call it Mellewah, topped with fried eggs, onions peppers and tomatoes it’s Fatira🤤👌🏾🤌🏾

    In Somalia 🇸🇴 we call it Chapati or Kibis and you we eat it with honey and tea as well! You can also eat it with savory dishes like curries/stews :)

      Mlwi is more "feuilleté", it has so many layers due to all the rolling, before shaping it into a circle. Also, the rolling makes it fluffier in the inside and crispy on the outside.
      That's why it is more tricky to make in comparison with the rectangular one.
      We always make Melwi in ceremonies like eid or when visitors come over.

    I’m Yemeni and my mom always makes this for us. I think someone from Morocco came to Yemen and cooked this and we have since fell in love with it lol 😂😂 (we put black seeds on the top)

    I used to live in morocco and miss the rghayef so much😭😭😭I don’t think I’d be able to do them justice on my own. I remember going to the school canteen with my friends for a morning snack and getting the delicious rghayef covered in honey and powdered sugar🤍🤍🤍

    Yum. I always feel so intimidated by making anything with dough. This looks so delicious and looks like it’s a lot of work. I’ll try it one day.
