Just got back home yesterday from my first ever trip to Morocco. It was an unforgettable experience, and I’m already missing my morning mint tea! This video makes me reminisce on the awesome time I had, and I can’t wait to try to make this for myself. Shukran bezaaf!
So excited to be able to make this at home! Thank you so much. It’s supposed to snow this weekend so I’m going to go out and get everything so I can make Moroccan tea at home and watch the snow fall
This brought back some memories of a visit to Morocco, sitting and drinking mint tea while bartering over a price for a hand made lamp which we still have hanging in the hall.
Managed to source some Gunpowder Tea and decided to give this a go. This brought back memories of drinking Moroccan tea in Medinah, SA. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Will be making lots more of this and of course trying to perfect it
May I ask where you live??? because I am from the U.S.A so I suppose I am a tad spoiled because I can source gun powder tea easily and even source it easily from reputable websites. Keep in mind I am from Southern California where we have a vast majority of culture here which means we have a variety of markets catering from Arabic to Jewish to everything in between which is why I can easily source stuff..
I've always thought the idea of having sugar with mint tea or green tea was just absolutely wrong. But now I've learnt about Moroccan mint tea, I am willing to have my mind changed. I must try this tea! Thanks for the video.
Thank you for this! For several years I have been trying to copy the mint tea that I had in Morocco without success. I did not realize that one had to use the gunpowder tea, plus mint. I watched several other RUclips videos that did not mention this. I made followed your instructions and it was delicious.
i need that tea pot lol. omg i have some gun powder green tea and i remember buying it to make moroccan tea and i remember why so bitter! thank you for letting me know that that’s the normal taste. i can’t wait to try this
Gun powder tea is very low quality and mass produced, maybe try a different seller. But otherwise, follow the above advice and use maybe 80°c water rather than boiling, 100°c, water
Thank you so much, your easy to follow, well explained method is the easiest way for anyone interested in authentic Moroccan mint tea and culture. Thx 😊
I remember when my moroccan family would make me tea, and they would always pour it into the glasses, and then put it back into the pot and keep poring over and over and I would grow so impatient😂
Hi i'm from indonesia. I'm very curious about the taste of Moroccan mint tea so I really want to make it. I found your video and it looks so easy to copy. I just need to buy the ingredients and Insyaallah I will make it then I will come back here for the results.
Must admit all I do is put my fresh mint in a cup top with hot water and leave a few minutes - lovely and refreshing.. So much better than tea bags - This recipe sounds lovely though...
I'd love an explanation and/or demo of why Moroccans pour the from very high, then pour it back into the pot to pour again. Is there a Darija/Arabic name for the men who wander the beach to make and serve tea to order?
Pouring back and forth is to mix the sugar evenly in the pot, and when you pour from high it’s too get oxygenation of the tea, it helps for the digestion
ASAWRWB New to the channel. Curious: Why do you “wash the leaves” after “the spirit,” vs the other way around? Seems counterintuitive, what am I missing? Thanks in advance
Hi I'm reading a travelstory of Morocco now , "mint tea" , that one of my favorite writer of Iran written it. I read about mint tea in this book so I wanna know how it make so I search in RUclips and found your video. Thank you for the video now I know how make mint tea in house😁
Hi! Love your video, have watched it many times to follow along and make the tea. I have a similar tea pot and rewatching your video this is the first time I noticed the plastic piece on the lid to protect your fingers while pouring. Which is great. What is that piece called/ where did you buy yours?

Do you use a strainer or basket to put the tea leaves in?
As a Moroccan, we put the tea leaves directly in the tea pot without using a strainer or basket

Do you have to use the spirit for the tea?
Shalom. Finally a well explained recipe. Did it and enjoyed it. Thanks!!
Have you ever used honey in place of the sugar? Does it ruin the taste?
Respect.
Hello, I have a question: why do you make the concentrate first and wash after - wouldn't that imply that the washing isn't necessary?
I was wondering about the spirit and wash too since all my tea drinking it never happens..
Couscoussssssss 😋
I would love to see more vegan recipes and more Recipes like this!
