    I’ve been dealing with SVS for 13 years, and have purchased and recommended a number of systems throughout the years. My PB12-Plus subwoofers are still going strong, and I just purchased a 2.1 satellite + SB1000 Pro system for my office. I’ve contacted their customer service for everything from product service to speaker placement to speaker recommendations and even amplifier recommendations. They’ve always gone above and beyond my expectations, and I cannot stress enough how important, and how great SVS’s service has been.

    I’ve had SVS speakers over 15 years and I can attest to their excellent customer service. Aside from the excellent sound quality, one of the reasons I gravitate towards them. I’m ordering another setup - a 2.1 satellite system for my desk this week.

    I’ve had my Polk Audio 11t standing speakers for 47 years and they are still in Showroom condition. And now they’re being used as my front stage along with Polk Center. The rear wides are also Polks. This year I added the SVS Elevation Primes for the front height Atmos. Will be adding another pair of them as the rear Heights along with the rear surrounds Prime Bookshelf. Will it affect the speaker timbre. And will be replacing the two Velodyne Subwoofer for the SVS SB-1000.

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  2 года назад +1

      With most of your ear-level speakers being Polk, I don't think you'll notice much of a difference in timbre, since Atmos effects are a little more subtle and atmospheric, typically. You'll most likely notice timbre differences between fronts and center, or front soundstage and surrounds.

I was leaning towards the Costco 5.0.2 Klipsch speakers (I found them on Amazon prime for 100 more than Costco) then came across these. It sounds like you really know your stuff, if you wouldn’t mind giving your expert opinion with around 3k to spend reciever included with today’s availability which system would you recommend me looking into? I cannot think of any situation where you wouldn't be better off with another speaker on the channel these satellites occupy. I have old Audiosource LS-200 speakers that can produce low frequencies that these SVS satellites cannot. They lack frequencies that are in the vocal range and still directional, so you will have an impacted center channel for dialog. I guess you will have to put the sub right under your TV.

    I’m between this and maybe upgrading later with height speakers or the Costco Klipsch Referece Dolby atmos package. What do you think is the better option in reference to sound quality. My ceiling height is 9’ and room is around 12’x20’. Thanks!

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  3 года назад +1

      The SVS 5.1 package sounds more neutral than Klipsch, but if you like to have a slightly brighter sound (dialog a bit more clear in the higher frequencies, a little more sizzle) then go with the Klipsch.
      Klipsch might fill your space a little better with those tower speakers, but knowing you have an excellent subwoofer with the SVS package is also something to consider, since the Costco Klipsch package doesn’t come with a subwoofer at all.
      Customer service is also incredible with SVS. So deciding to upgrade your system over time with SVS is so easy. They are so accommodating. Klipsch is a big corporation, so the personal customer service experience is far inferior to SVS. Just something to think about in the long run. 😀🙌

    Hello Ealan, Thanks for this great review. Need your recommendations. Would you recommend this SVS 5.1 system over the new Klipsch Cinema 5.1.4 which i got it for $499 last week from costco ? I did not setup yet as I'm looking out for 9.2 ch receiver for the Klipsch Cinema 5.1.4 . Is the extra money for SVS worth it or the Klipsch Cinema 5.1.4 is a better value for $499? Pls advise. I'm new to AV/Home theater system. I'm getting my first home theatre system for my basement which is getting finished. I'm your subscriber and have been following all your recent videos on the Home theater system. Thanks for your time.

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  2 года назад +1

      Here’s my take on the subject: The 5.1.4 Cinema system is a better value, ESPECIALLY since you got it for the $499 sale price. It’s a great baseline system to start you off on a home theater journey.
      That being said, SVS has incredible customer service. So upgrading speakers over time will be SUCH an easier experience going with them. And they have the best subwoofers in their class.
      So if you enjoy finding deals on your own and like to be independent with your home theater decisions, stick with the Klipsch route.
      If you want to become part of a family, and even be able to seek advice from their staff (along with great speakers, of course), go with SVS. Make sense? 😁

      If it’s a cheap upgrade you’re looking for, that Klipsch system is a steal! You’ll be spending around $1,000 for the SVS system (although the speakers are a bit superior). Out of the 3 they sell, the Yamaha is probably #1 since it’s the newest and is 8K ready, so it’s more future proof. Then I’d say Denon is #2 since it’s a very “smart” receiver, although I’ve personally been disappointed with video switching glitches with Denons. I have a 9 channel Onkyo receiver, so I’m sure the 7 channel Costco sells is great! But it is the oldest model of the bunch and could use some updated bells and whistles. I currently have Studio Acoustics SA1.8T towers, a Studio Acoustics centre speaker and 2 random small satelite speakers as surrounds and an old sony receiver from the 90s. I would like to upgrade to a Denon AVC-X4700H, Klipsch RP-8000F towers, Klipsch RP-504c Center speaker, Klipsch RP-502s surround speakers and an SVS PB 1000 Pro subwoofer. Now I was going to use the Klipsch Reference Theatre Pack Satelite speakers as Front and Rear Height speakers for atmos as i found a place selling the speakers individually however now that I have seen this video I wonder which ones you would recommend for my purpose, the Klipsch or the SVS satelites?

      Hi! Well, that is going to be an incredible system, especially with those RP-8000F towers.
      For height channels, I’d honestly go for some SVS Prime Elevations since they’re meant to be height channels, being angled slightly. And they have some nice mounting brackets that cost extra, but are worth it since it’s not some third party cheap bracket.
      I know that Klipsch system will be insanely cool, but if you get SVS Prime Elevations and a PB-1000 Pro sub, you might consider getting an SVS Ultra surround system so your speakers are all timbre-matched, all being the same brand. They’re Ultra towers are on par with the RP-8000F, in my opinion. Just something to consider, since SVS is a great company to deal with. Very personal and really care about your home theater needs. 🙌

      @@ealanosborne thanks for your response, i don't know if I'll be able to afford the elevation speakers, what I'm already getting is going to cost me around $10k (i live in Australia) and that's with some things on sale and also excluding speaker wire and other things that may be needed. Also this is for my bedroom lmao. I know this is incredibly overkill for that but I'm 20 years old and still live at home with my parents but i would probably move out in the next few years and I'll be able to take all this with me and then it can be appropriately setup in my living room. The Klipsch Satellite speakers are being sold for $250AUD each so if i buy 4 it will cost me $1000, i assume the SVS Elevations would cost significantly more haha. At the moment I'm just interested in the satellites as they can be mounted on a bracket and angled down towards me also and then in the future maybe after i move out i can get the elevations. I'm not too concerned with everything being timbre matched as I've never experienced a system with 100% matching speakers. So just out of the klipsch and svs satellites, which do you feel would sound best as height speakers?

      @@AydinHuss Ohhhhh, okay. Didn’t realize you were speaking to me from down under. 😀 I do think the SVS speakers will sound better than the Klipsch, but if it’s going to cost a lot, having Klipsch satellites as your height channels will still be a good way to go. I don’t think you’d be disappointed with either option, so it just depends on your budget. 🙌

    What AV receiver do you recommend with this system?

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  3 года назад +1

      Denon AVR-S750H or Yamaha RX-V6A or Sony STR-DH790. All of which are 7 channels, so you have the option of adding 2 more channels later, if you wanna go 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos someday. 😀👍

      Most definitely. Most conventional 5 channel or 7 channel receivers will go perfect with a system like this that has small satellites speakers with big sound. 🙌

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  2 года назад +1

      You just use one of the satellites as a center channel. But no horizontal-shaped center channel, like you might be used to. Although SVS also does sell that type of center channel, which you could substitute in. 👍

    Hey Ealan, with a budget of around 1,000 would a soundbar like the nakamichi shockwafe 7.2 soundbar be a better value than a budget home theater build? I'm having a hard time finding a speaker+Receiver bundle that has tons of value. Thanks for the help!

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  3 года назад +1

      I will personally take wired speakers+receiver over a soundbar any day. Yes, it’s more work to set up, but worth it in the end, since it’s a wider, more discrete soundstage. You’ll get more power and more reliability, too. 👍
