Brother i just started my research for a camera that is good enough for streaming and could be use for photography and videos (i'm not the use of the second part but my wife) and i didn't have any idea of what she was saying ... like millimeters, crop sensors and all that technical stuff (dj here so audio is my thing). Your video just helped me a lot to understand what she meant without generating a fight at home!

@@BeaPhotographerlessons I am getting the Canon R7 on preorder. No idea when it will come, but from all the research I've done this week, I feel I'd be kicking myself if I didn't take advantage of something with new specs coming out at the time I was looking. It seems to have lots of promise. I am no impressed with the Canon website at all though, I am gambling that they will make good rf-s lenses (else I coulda just got a 90d and saved $) , and no idea when it will arrive. I might be waiting months. We shall see how it turns out! I will spend some time learning PS and LR with my cellphone pictures in the meanwhile.

Hey Blake what are you taking pictures of? You could probably use F/8 and yes this is where BOTH ISO and shutter speed come into play.

For my Tamron 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC, I assume the aperture changes based on how zoomed in I am? Also, what does the "Di II VC mean"?

    • @BeaPhotographerlessons
      @BeaPhotographerlessons  4 месяца назад

That’s right! Aperture changes as you zoom. “VC” stands for Vibration compensation which means that it helps to keep the lens steady internally when you are zoomed in.

is there a SINGLE ... VIDEO ANYWHERE ONLINE THAT CAN EVER... ACTUALLY, SHARE WHAT THE UNITS OF LENGTH ACTUALLY MEAN!!!!!!!! Explain Physics, science, the MEANING!!! Without using the same word in the definition! YES, I surmised that the notation of: X mm - Y mm
Means that the DASH "-" Implies ON THE EXTREME OF ONE END WILL BE ONE of the two 'Values' (what you've NOT explained) and the Other "End" will bee the other Value ... at the other "end" or stop of rotation!
Which is all you have clarified here!
I HOPE NO ONE NEEDED YOU TO SAY THAT?
But since this is the Main Video that shows up when I Google this issue and it shares nothing ...
CAN ANYONE ACTUALLY EXPLAIN - What a UNIT OF DISTANCE IS DOING THERE!?
It's like... Holy crap!! I had hope in humanity that the amount of photographers meant there was a good set of the population that had basic understandings of some fundamentals of physics and optics... Yeah, NOT THE CASE!
So: No wonder there are so many photographers! They NEVER GET TO THE CORE UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT THEY EVEN WORK WITH!!! Just gut feelings after dealing with what one lense will do to another the basic trends by comparison to higher or smaller numbers granting different properties...
BUT CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THAT ____mm UNIT OF LENTH, ACTUALLY, REFERS TO?? It must MEAN something!
And as a scientist using the metric system: I CAN TELL YOU just by how short those distances are IT IS NOT ANY FORM OF DISTANCE FROM THE LENS
(Like being where the object becomes in focus) NOT WITH HOW SHORT THOSE DISTANCES WOULD ALL BE!
    - SO, WHAT IS IT!!??
It's like someone wanting to understand the difference in radio wave form of AM / FM radio
    - and you saying / explaining it as follows:
"AM is when you turn the button to AM & FM is when you turn it to FM - Like Yeaaaahhh! " **
** In the voice of Justin Long the actor playing the "Doctor" from the Movie Idiocracy! ** Lol!
Really though, that's all I can think of when I see videos like this! NO EXPLANATION AT ALL as I search for ANYONE that can ACTUALY UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE EXPLAINING AT ALL!
I'm sure you Explained F well as... who can't
    - Didn't watch that far though. Stopped before the Aperture Section as you already passed the "__mm" explanation section - Seemingly NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN!? I mean is it the distance between lenses inside the (I will use the word 'Device' instead of Lens when talking about the entire enclosure of all optics of what's being called the "camera Lens" which connects onto it - AS a lens in physics is an optically significant structure that interacts with light (defracts, or otherwise changes the path of light within the transparent medium!) i.e. the Glass lens pieces inside this Camera 'Lens')
So inside this 'Device' maybe this is a measure of the various glass structures sliding towards or away from one another?
With a Minimum distance between them as the Smallest "__mm" separation between them, up to the MAX distance or rather the LARGER NUMBER of mm of distance?
    As between those internal components?
    ------------------
So, is it Distances between internal lenses?
    ------------------
AS: THAT could make sense and THOSE are unit of lengths that COULD BE CONTAINED INSIDE THESE Camera Lenses / "Devices"!
So, Is that what it means?
IDK!! --- NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN IT!
IT's A TOTAL EDUCATED GUESS UNTILL I CAN FIND ANYONE THAT CAN EXPLAIN IT AND KNOW WHATS GOING ON!!!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Sorry for the frustration but...
You must admit... objectively you never did remotely explain what the "__ mm - __ mm" means on a Camera Lens!
    ------------------------------------------------
SO PLEASE - NOTICE RUclips - Nothing hateful here at all!
SO, HEY*** THIS IS NOT A NEGATIVE COMMENT***
It is quite Literally just a FACTUAL observation about what was displayed within the video content!
I Hope I can discover what these numbers (Millimeter based units of Distance) actually mean somewhere on RUclips!
