An animated description of fractures of the 5th metatarsal base, including Jones fractures, and an explanation for why they don't heal as well as other fractures.
I got this same fracture in 2010 playing soccer as a 17 year old I was just given a walking boot.I'm now 29 and noticed every now and then my old fracture with ache throb
I didn't realize I fractured my 5th metatarsal. So it healed incorrectly over time and now the outside of my foot looks like a boomerang. Definitely hurts after a long day of work probably due to arthritis that it caused over the past 2 years.
It was a watershed moment. The fracture in the head region can be problematic due to limited blood supply. The wrist’s scaphoid bone is a bit similar in the fact of its high percentage of articulation surface is limited in blood vessels accessible area. Trade offs for incredible range of motion joints. They will heal but require special attention to immobilization techniques.
Hey I got avulsion fracture. How is your feet now. Can you run now after a year? how much time it took to heal? And what was your treatment cast or surgery?
@@iberianlion1459 I think you have to take care of that leg afterwards. As the bone not gets as stronger as before. I less than 9 month in I got fracture on the same spot, and this time the impact was very less as compared to first avulsion injury.
