I've been using the tab s7 plus for about 2 years now and I have to say that it's a really good tablet. Battery life is great even after 2 years of heavy usage. I only need to charge it every other day, if I end up watching hours of youtube/netflix I might need to charge it everyday. But for productivity it lasts a really long time. It charges very fast (about an hour and a half) and chargers are durable and pretty cheap, so you can replace them. I'm mentioning that because I had a hard time paying for apple chargers in the past. S pen is great and to me feels more comfortable than the apple pen. Samsung notes is a free app that has most of the features you'll ever need, but it is true that there aren't enough apps on android right now and if you want to use a specific app like good notes, then I suggest an ipad. Widgets are amazing, interactive and with the new update (smart widgets) you can save space on your homescreen. Watching content on it is fantastic due to the aspect ratio (lass black bars on top and bottom of the screen). Camera placement is better for video calls in my opinion, but the video quality isn't mind blowing. Screen quality is very good. The one downside for me is the lack of accessories, I did buy the official Samsung book cover but when I travel I do need something more protective than that, 3rd party cases are hard to find, Samsung doesn't sell tip replacements (not sure if they do now but when my tip broke I couldn't find one made by Samsung). I recommend the Lammy EMR tips, there are two different types one that is made out of plastic that works great with paperlike screen protector, the other one has a soft tip and is similar to the one that comes with the spen. I imagine that with the s8 line, Samsung has improved on all of these, so the experience must be even better. This comment is probably messy, so excuse my mistakes and lack of commas. Well, here is a genuine students perspective: Do NOT buy a galaxy tab s8 done... Because - why would you? If money is no concern .. get what you want. But that is hardly a "students" perspective, because money must always balance usefulness. Do you NEED an up-to-date tablet? really? If you take notes, use it for a quick text, annotations, screen-write and a brainstorming .. you do not need it. Get a S6 lite, a Xiaoxin p11 or an old surface pro 7 or 8. All of those options cost you less than 25000 ISK (something like 200 $) - there is no need for a latest Apple or Samsung device .. unless your "need" is to show that you can. In terms of usefulness .. the S8 (i actually use the big one) is by NO means superior to any other tablet that allows the use of a good stylus. ... except for gaming. (and the Ultra for size - which is only matched by the Galaxy view, which is garbage) If gaming is your focus - get a Switch If working with and in texts is your thing - get an older iPad (and i really dislike Apple) - or an older S6 lite (goes for 25000-30000 ISK) If drawing, painting and graphics are your thing - get a Wacom Cintiq (for Students i would suggest the Entry "Wacom One" - which is around 30000 new) if writing AND drawing is your thing .. get a used Microsoft Surface (preferably 7 if you have to turn every penny - or 8 if you can afford it .. because the battery life of the 7 is poor and the 8 is good) - Especially the Surface pro makes sharing with an actual PC much easier. My advice to students .. differentiate between what you NEED and what you WANT. Two very different things.

Very helpful! Thanks! I am really in doubt of replacing my Surface Pro with an S8 or an S8+. I notice I hardly ever use the SP as tablet on the couch. So that would verify going for the S8. However I am worried I will be disappointed with the smaller size when using it for productivity. Can you shed any light on that?
Well s8 ultra is a 14.6 inch screen and it's amazing
@@JCE_Productions , however, the S8 ultra has never been on the table as an option. Either the 8 or the 8+. If someone can shed some light on that....
Nah the normal s8 is perfectly fine for productivity, the "smaller size" is not a deal breaker for most people.
@@danielkaye2615 Thanks! I will check it out in a store. Hopefully they have a keyboard with it as well. I'd really like to test that too
