I think paying the extra for 256 GB storage is a no brainer. In the UK the 256GB model is £50 more (£699 Vs £649). The system takes up storage before you've even started. So in reality for £50 you're actually MORE than doubling the available storage.
@@ryanwerner6137 Sure. Internal memory is miles quicker than microSD. Apps filll up storage quickly and don't update when moved to microSD. I've had microSD cards corrupt on me. Internal ROM is far more reliable. It's only £50 for in real terms more than double the storage after considering space for the OS. If you're willing to pay £649 for a premium tablet then an extra £50 is a no brainer. I have the 256GB model and use microSD too for downloads - mainly data that's not important like Audible, TV shows, Prime, RUclips etc so if the microSD card does corrupt it's no big deal as I can download it again. It also keeps the serious data I store on the ROM separate from the junk I use for entertainment.
I own the first Ipad Air and, because I can't update to the latest OS, I can't use many of the apps because they work only with latest OS. On Android, even though my Android version will be old, I will still be able to run all the apps.

Honestly I have both operating systems from Apple and Samsung. I went back to Galaxy watch 4 and S23, Android is just smoother for day to day but I wont trade in my I Pad Pro for a G Tab. Apples Ipad is a powerhouse and updates go further. Thanks
Considering the lower tier tablets upgraded to more ram/storage is 400 or 500 this is a solid deal. It looks stunning, my A7 2020 model looks a decade old in comparison.
Curious to see how this will cope with video editing once lumafusion is released. I'll be getting a tablet to use as a main computer while I head off traveling later in the year, likely this if editing is good on it!

end of software update is not the end of the world. all this tech utubers behave such a way that a device becomes useless or trash if it stops getting software updates. many ppl r still using galaxy s3,s4 wich runs on 8 years older Android version & they still run fine

I honestly think that Samsung's tablets are on another level compared to every other Android tablet out there thanks to Dex. It's Google who should step up with Android because Samsung can only do so much.
For Face unlock: once u open the cover, there is a unlock icon that will show "unlocking" THEN press any key.. it's a 2-way process, unlike ipad or any phones
If I knew about dex I wouldn’t have purchased my IPad Pro. Nice part about the IPad is iMovie and GarageBand but there are other apps that can be used on Android. I hope Apple pushes to move towards a dex type experience.
Hi E-dad! :) If we are talking about notebook kind of work and if one doesn't need S-pen for his workflow, I cannot find any argument why not to buy MacBook air M1. Its cheaper, more powerful and has full fat OS .
My first time using apple pencil was a disappointment coming from samsung pen. Even my friend who thought his apple pencil is superior was asking me if he can keep my tab for some more time😂
please suggest S6 lite tab vs s8 tab when price difference between two is 20,000/- Does S8 justify spending more onto it. Purpose is Movie watching and notes making. Does S8 tab also having palm resist feature like s6 lite. Please reply and guide
Great video. The only thing I wholeheartedly disagree with you over is the “free pen”. I think your well known love for all things base and least expensive, colored your judgement here. It’s just anecdotal, but I and several people I’ve asked never used the Apple Pencil after the initial purchase. Yes, when we bought it, we bought apps and spent time drawing and note taking….for about 2 weeks. It reminded me of being angry when Apple stopped including headphones until I thought about the 3 pair, still in their wrapper, sitting in my junk drawer. Too many people who BUY it don’t use it. Including a free Pencil would be criminal waste.
True, especially if the cost of Samsung Tablets could be more affordable and perhaps for budget models more powerful in performance if they removed the S-Pen. For example the Tab S7 FE oh has a Mid-Range Processor while the similarly priced IPad Air 5 has flagship performance
the free pen simply means: look at the value, when on the Apple side you need to buy an extremely overpriced accessory with a 80% profit margin for apple...
Lumafusion on these would make it a serious threat to the ipad for those that are into video editing. Looking forward ti reviews on that experience when it becomes available.
@@Evan_Rodgers Lumafusion isn't hard to run. You could encode 4K video on Lumafusion with an iPad Air 3. The more important part was the RAM so you could get good timeline previews without sputtering. Which the Tab S8 has plenty of. The Tab S8 ultra top trim has 16GB of RAM. It won't be as fast to encode as an M1 iPad Pro, but you'll trade it off by having a better aspect ratio for video editing, and a bigger screen overall. As long as the timeline is smooth and fast, meh. I'll trade off the slower encoding.
I love Samsung products, yet in my opinion the BEST tablet was galaxy tab S2 8.0'. It was the perfect ratio of dimensions, like a book! Pleasure to hold and read. No idea why they went back to this narrow thing again. Someone should tell them what really works.
Ok, here's the part that's bothering me. 8GB RAM 128 GB RAM... yet at the end, the M1 is much more powerful because they use M1s in everthing now. only considering samsung because of the 36 month payments vs 6 months for apple wait for microsoft stacked up ARM chip tablets? or Samsung's next TSMC chips?
In my country iPad 9th + Appple pencil 1 is equal price as Tab S8. What should i choose? I want tab for note taking and reading pdfs news etc...Thanks a lot!
Hey Gary, thanks for the videos! I’ve been an iPad Pro user since they had iPad pros - I enjoy the reliability of face unlock feature on iPad pros… I recently (last 12 months) moved away from iPhone and moved to Samsung… I found that face unlock function on my Samsung doesn’t work when I am wearing a hat - feels like 80% miss and 20% unlock. The accuracy when I’m wearing a hat is terrible… when I use my iPad Pro and use face unlock with a hat on, it works fine.
Apple reluctantly add the Apple pencil while Samsung design their tablet with S pen since, that’s already says about it, “ who need stylus “ says Tim Cook 😜
This tab is great. I use rhe larger ones. I hate windows. I like apple and have. IPad is just an entertainment device and a browsing or casual use device. This is so much better for productivity and multi tasking. Even if you are watching a RUclips video and browsing rhe web. It is a great travel device and can do much more with dex than an iPad can as a 2 in 1. The ultra has the better key board and rhe plus has rhe cell 5g. These are amazing. I also got an ultra 22 for work and use it for anything but imessage these days He's right apple neede to find a way to get imessage on these things.
I'm lost with the keyboard because I had issues with both options from Samsung and I couldn't type fast because it wouldn't register every key click... especially if you were typing in the same key in succession. Anyone else have this issue?

Internal ROM is far more reliable. It's only £50 for in real terms more than double the storage after considering space for the OS. If you're willing to pay £649 for a premium tablet then an extra £50 is a no brainer. I have the 256GB model and use microSD too for downloads - mainly data that's not important like Audible, TV shows, Prime, RUclips etc so if the microSD card does corrupt it's no big deal as I can download it again. It also keeps the serious data I store on the ROM separate from the junk I use for entertainment.
Please review the Tab S8 Plus.
Offering iPad in 64 GB is the kind of mind game I hate.
I own the first Ipad Air and, because I can't update to the latest OS, I can't use many of the apps because they work only with latest OS. On Android, even though my Android version will be old, I will still be able to run all the apps.
Exactly. Apple fools its customers. Latest updates don't have all the features. Look what it did with the stage manager.
I used to watch RUclips on my ipad mini 1. That is not possible anymore as apple disabled it.
Updates aren't always good.
I think they do that to the messaging so you will buy the apple product. And not the android.
Why can't you just get texts in your phone....don't need to on tablet
god your video is so entertaining, been thinking of getting one for school. a bit too late huh
disable stay on lockscreen untill swipe in biometrics. and delete your facial recognition and set it up again
The fact u gotta do all that is lame. Lol but that’s Samsung.
@@youngjacuzzi3676 no it kinda isn't cuz sometimes it might get unlocked when u don't want it to so you can select if it should unlock
I've been an android user basically from the start. Always had the flagship Samsung phones and then wanted a tablet, I ended up getting the galaxy z fold 3 & it's amazing, can't go back to a normal phone now. Never had a tablet but after using my phone I'm looking to get a tablet now as I do a lot emails & Microsoft word documents.
I use Samsung dex regularly but its not optimum just using a phone, can see so many benefits with the tablet.
Update I got the Tab S8+ can't fault it
Honestly I have both operating systems from Apple and Samsung. I went back to Galaxy watch 4 and S23, Android is just smoother for day to day but I wont trade in my I Pad Pro for a G Tab. Apples Ipad is a powerhouse and updates go further. Thanks
Hoping Apple Made some DEX stuff on iPadOS…. Hope
Considering the lower tier tablets upgraded to more ram/storage is 400 or 500 this is a solid deal. It looks stunning, my A7 2020 model looks a decade old in comparison.
Curious to see how this will cope with video editing once lumafusion is released. I'll be getting a tablet to use as a main computer while I head off traveling later in the year, likely this if editing is good on it!
if kinemaster and power director works great on android phones i dont see luma fusion cant. its just how luma optimized their app. kinemaster and powerd arent even optimized 100% but they worked great already
It will probably be good since Samsung directly partnered with lumafusion and advertised it for their tablets
Bought my galaxy tab s7 last july time operating it not more then 2 days.. Now its job is accumulating dusk...
end of software update is not the end of the world. all this tech utubers behave such a way that a device becomes useless or trash if it stops getting software updates. many ppl r still using galaxy s3,s4 wich runs on 8 years older Android version & they still run fine
If Samsung software ends you still can use it without any issues except update but if the software update of Iphone ends you've need to worry cause every app you use will not be available.
Wow look how dim that screen is relative to the iPad Pro tho.
Great video! Would you still recommend it? I'm on the fence about getting one (either the S8 or S8+) leaning towards the 8 because of portability. Do you happen to know if the the 8 will get Lumafusion when it finally releases?
What did u get ? I'm in the same bout as you , I'm not sure what to get too
@@verrawar7906 I ended up getting the S8. It is a great size and the screen looks great on it.
Your thumbnail game is off the flippin‘ charts 🤩
What are you talking about most reviewers have said that the keyboard feels cheaper and not as good as the magic keyboard
youd feel the same about the newer samsung phones like the s23+ or note 23+ if you tried them.
I honestly think that Samsung's tablets are on another level compared to every other Android tablet out there thanks to Dex. It's Google who should step up with Android because Samsung can only do so much.
Ok, finally the video which doesn't have that apple sided bias
Was thinking of getting the remarkable 2 boy am I glad I got this instead.
You're right about the face unlock. I have the S8+ and fails to unlock with my face about 65 percent of the time.
Same thing with my S8+. When opening the keyboard cover it just doesn't work.
Ky s6 lite face unlock is literally useless so i just draw my password everytime i open it
For Face unlock: once u open the cover, there is a unlock icon that will show "unlocking" THEN press any key.. it's a 2-way process, unlike ipad or any phones
There is a setting that goes straight to home screen after face unlock.
If I knew about dex I wouldn’t have purchased my IPad Pro. Nice part about the IPad is iMovie and GarageBand but there are other apps that can be used on Android. I hope Apple pushes to move towards a dex type experience.
7:50 That's what she said! xD
Hi E-dad! :) If we are talking about notebook kind of work and if one doesn't need S-pen for his workflow, I cannot find any argument why not to buy MacBook air M1. Its cheaper, more powerful and has full fat OS .
Do you mind sharing this wallpaper you used for the thumbnail? It looks so pretty!
When I connect my Tab s8 tablet to a 32 inch 2K monitor, what is the maximum resolution and refresh rate I can get?
The ecosystem integration is lit
Tab S8 or tab s7 plus on same price which one should i buy?
For video editing and entertainment purpose.
Apple may support the devices, but no developers do, I've fired an old Ipad up only to find not a single app will download.
Do a video about play store vs app store
If I'm correct, they dont have the same retail price between an S8 and an Ipad Pro
There's an app called superdisplay which allows low latency second screen on windows
My first time using apple pencil was a disappointment coming from samsung pen. Even my friend who thought his apple pencil is superior was asking me if he can keep my tab for some more time😂
I tried the rear camera, the image quality is quite horrible. How about you guys?
It it were possible, Albert Einstein would have scribbed his famous equations using the S-pen
please suggest S6 lite tab vs s8 tab when price difference between two is 20,000/- Does S8 justify spending more onto it.
@@typhoon_8086 that too.
Criminal waste ? I think you maybe over reacting just a bit ,
@@mikldude9376 I would be if I meant it LITERALLY.
the free pen simply means: look at the value, when on the Apple side you need to buy an extremely overpriced accessory with a 80% profit margin for apple...
Not even a word about tft lcd screen? It's not good as amoled.
Lumafusion on these would make it a serious threat to the ipad for those that are into video editing. Looking forward ti reviews on that experience when it becomes available.
Android tablets likely won’t be able to run LunaFusion properly due to anemic cpu and GPU performance on ARM chips
I use PowerDirector on my laptop, phone and tablet. I can start on one and finish on another. Not changing my video editor PowerDirector is fire.
@@Evan_Rodgers lumafusion is coming to tab s8 though
I'm gonna be using this to draw, but I don't wanna scratch the screen with my heavy hand, what type of screen protector is recommended?
A drawing / paper screen protector
I love Samsung products, yet in my opinion the BEST tablet was galaxy tab S2 8.0'. It was the perfect ratio of dimensions, like a book! Pleasure to hold and read. No idea why they went back to this narrow thing again. Someone should tell them what really works.
Can i use this with pc ? Can i screencast it on pc while doing digital art and please tell me can i make fiverr account
Android itself allows texting across ecosystems.... Apple needs to evolve.
Awesome 👌, thanks 😊
I am looking for one to but i still don t know wich once to buy...
Tablet Texts just fine. The problem is you use an iphone. It will text with any android phone. Similar to how ipad can only text if you use n iphone.
I had a samsung book, have an appointment to fix it it doesn t start...i have an appointment for monday...
My battery drains very fast. I don't get it. I have just purchased it. Is it normal?
Can you not connect to iphone via hotspot through wifi on the tablet for messeging?
Hey Gary, thanks for the videos! I’ve been an iPad Pro user since they had iPad pros - I enjoy the reliability of face unlock feature on iPad pros… I recently (last 12 months) moved away from iPhone and moved to Samsung… I found that face unlock function on my Samsung doesn’t work when I am wearing a hat - feels like 80% miss and 20% unlock. The accuracy when I’m wearing a hat is terrible… when I use my iPad Pro and use face unlock with a hat on, it works fine.
Any idea when the t-mobile models gonna release
this is the perfect android laptop
do you really get 7 years of apple updates? Becuase I swear my ipad tablet from 2013 stopped getting updates after about 4-5 years.
Love the endnote: 'Thanks for whutt?'
this guys spitting facts like an armalite
Apple reluctantly add the Apple pencil while Samsung design their tablet with S pen since, that’s already says about it, “ who need stylus “ says Tim Cook 😜
I just ordered a tab S8 it will be here on Wednesday
I preordered my S8+ and won’t get it until late April. Dumb.
I also got an ultra 22 for work and use it for anything but imessage these days
He's right apple neede to find a way to get imessage on these things.
Face recognition sucks. I have the same problem with my mid-range tab s6 lite
I'm lost with the keyboard because I had issues with both options from Samsung and I couldn't type fast because it wouldn't register every key click... especially if you were typing in the same key in succession. Anyone else have this issue?
Can I receive or make calls with Galaxy Tab S8?
How do you use DEX on the go without a trackpad?
Does the tablet s8 have a thin removable strip of film around the edges where the controls and speakers are? I can feel a thin film that maybe should or could be peeled off!
Good and you seem still alive and kicking that is good..lol
