You said "bunny hopping" and I immediately got a vision of four Roze skins bunny hopping across my screen with rail guns. It made me flinch. I still haven't played Splitgate but it's really helpful to know all of this. Feathering was key in a lot of situations in other jet pack games too. It was the finesse that could save you or help you outplay people who just held down their boost and launched themselves to their doom. Keep it up, Looch. Loving the videos.
You forgot to mention that you can also “sprint” while flying to make you move faster through the air and that bunny hopping keeps your momentum when you are moving fast

Another reason to feather the jetpack is you can cover further distances with it compared to using the entire fuel at once. Also tested out the sound of so movement mechanics and realized that you don't lose any movement speed when aiming down sight. The quietest ways to move are Bunny hopping > crouch walking > jetpack > running = walking = ads walking. One of the tool tips on the loading screen says that melee damage scales with momentum so my buddies and I immediately went to custom Olympus to test that out and had so much fun getting those Mach 5 one-shots 😂
the main point of the jetpack, especially applicable in your pantheon example, isn't to get you to a spot, it's to get enough height to get a portal angle. On that railgun location on pantheon you're better off boosting up a little, put a portal on the railgun platform then drop back through your original portal to grab rail.
It’s just the call of duty sweats finally making there way to what will now become a sweaty ttv fest. This game may have low sbmm but no multiplayer game will ever be casual and fun again sadly.
Sprinting gunplay might deserved a mention. You don't have to stop sprinting to shoot (you can sprint into a shotgun trigger pull for example). You can sprint while reloading, etc.
@@Huhbd373 Team Shotty Snipers on Oasis is my favorite for that, because I can leave a portal at spawn, shoot another portal on a high point, and snipe through the home portal. If anyone approaches, just use shotgun. If I feel outnumbered, I can step through the portal and close it, hide for a while, and then portal back to spawn; rinse and repeat.
For clarification, the home portal is at the bottom of the tall panel at spawn, and the snipe portal is at the top of one of the tall panels to either side of the map.
quick feathering is really useful if you need to race up steep ramps like on stadium. you can move quicker up the ramps by spamming the spacebar up the ramp. raced my buddy in customs to test it and it gapped him by about half a second
another movement tech with jetpacks, they start refilling before you hit the ground a lot of the time so you can get even farther by getting multiple full jetpack bursts without touching the ground.
This game just came natural to me, already got a 3.4 kd with about 60-70 matches played it’s pretty fun can’t wait to see where it goes hopefully it blows up
@@tthreat23 the map size and gameplay style doesn't allow it to be like apex. portals would still be the heavily favoured method of movement however it would simply mean you could carry momentum more effectively.

I’ve used it in a few of my games . At risk of a mag you might be able to find yourself going higher or farther!
Love the portal mechanic and the ceiling is sky high for any player who masters the portals, but the most frustrating thing in the game has to be the fact that 3 headshots are necessary to kill with a carbine, and killing people is just getting a kill and getting clapped immediately by the teamate.
1 Headshot + 2 body shots = 1 Kill (40dmg + 2*30dmg =100dmg). OR 3 body shots + 1 secondary weapon shot (Pistol/AR) = 1 Kill. You only ever need 1 headshot mixed into your normal body shots with the carbine to secure the kill. And there's no range drop off with the carbine or BR I believe.

when in a gunfight just crouch strafe a lot and you're already a hard target to hit, there's not much more you can do. also not exactly movement, but try hipfire a lot especially at close to medium range, ads-ing takes longer and makes it harder to aim which gives your opponent even the slightest advantage
Just because a film was screened at Cannes and people saw the movie doesn’t mean that when the movie is officially fully launched months later that it’s already been out. A small release to test your product does not equate to being officially released fully.

Race mode is awesome for getting to know maps and different ways to use portals
If speed gives you enough melee damage to one shot someone, that means you can market garden people and that is amazing

nice video! wanted to add a quick update: Holding shift (Or whatever sprint is on controller) will boost your jet pack :)
quick tip, it's pretty easy to hear enemy sprinting directionally, it's how I get a lot of kills, so be wary of sprinting all the time.

Good start if you’re awful at close range gun fights like me is to leave a portal in spawn and gtfo when you need too. Especially in Sniper shotguns
