Secondly, he starts by cutting it in half, which would make a perfect flat surface to cut through the correct axis, but then he proceeds to cut through the same axis by holding it up on it’s edge, which as he implies, isn’t very safe. Look at his fingers at 0:32, perfectly positioned to be sliced off in the event that the knife slips. He also makes a pretty big deal of getting rid of the stems. Imo the simplest way to do it is to slice the whole thing across its vertical axis and get rid of the first slice with the stem on it. Ps. @@_G.C na when you cut it vertically you’re creating a cross section which has the solid branches in it, there’s at least a better chance it’ll stay in tact, and if it doesn’t it’ll at least have some of the solid centre in it. The way he does it, you’re going to have slices that are just donuts with goo in the middle, like the one on the left at 0:35, and some slices that are just completely solid.
I followed this step by step and it was probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had but that’s probably because I don’t eat sandwiches that often

Balogna is typically made from an assortment of meats. Most American brands (to my knowledge) use chicken and pork, thus making it the perfect candidate for the meat on the sandwich. TLDR: me thinks the sandvich uses balogna.
