Here’s a tip I haven’t seen before: set the enemy color to green. You’ll never get confused and green is the easiest color for humans to see and stands out in this game. Very easy to spot enemies from any distance
Honestly it's surprising that many players don't utilize the portals, I think playing Portal helped me because I knew how to think with portals beforehand when I started playing.
Adding on for tips spam tapping jetpack gives a little more distance due to the initial boost, smg spread isn't as bad the reticle makes it seem, and like you said hot swapping weapons is super fast and great for games likes shotty and snipers.
one thing that I've found is that the distortion effect the grenades cause when they explode can actually sometimes trip up an enemy that wasn't expecting you to throw one at them, giving you just enough extra time to kill 'em. So if you think it might work, go for it, but I'd say only do that when you have more than one grenade.
there is actually a tip that I would like to share - Always set up a portal at your team spawn point so you can quickly get out of critical situations.
Recently upgraded my PC and decided to play more games like this as opposed to warzone 24/7. I'm absolutely loving it, it's like I've gone back to the 90s/00s where games were actually fun to me.
@@cooldawg2009 in team fortress 2, the soldier has a melee weapon called the market Gardner that almost instakills anything with one hit, but only after he rocket jumps by shooting a rocket at his feet
Watching this makes me feel better for just being a camping bugger sitting in some remote location, trying to kill via portals. I'm learning atm but I've noticed that many I can't usually beat head to head, just won't even realize someone is killing them through those funky red ovals. But for real, I've been learning to use portals in ways that allow me to both have a safe space, and a way to get free shots. It's not too effective, depends on awareness, but I've also had myself sometimes having one portal on one side of the map against a high wall, and the same with another portal. I just go to the other portal when I get shot and close it, then reopen it. Really, I've been doing that a ton, there's a few good spots in Club Silo where you can place your portals in a way that you almost always have shot access to certain areas. I live in my portals. On average I die maybe 3 times per game, even if I don't get many kills, so long as I don't die often, I consider that a success. Only level 23 also, K/D overall is 0.83, I'm not fantastic, aim is kinda garbo, reaction time can easily be better, but portals really make it easier. Also I have a theory that any head-clicking scripts and aimbot/assist don't work with portals. I've also made sure to place my shooting portal a bit higher so I can crouch behind it, giving myself a bit of cover with the portal wall. Also been intentionally sticking with spawning weapons for practice, I ignore power weapons (unless they're on the floor next to me obviously). Tbh I love this game, just today, I had like 5 games where, thanks to these tips I just naturally learned and picked up on (tho not all of 'em, like tripping enemy players up with portals, I bet you could do real easy kills that way! Never thought to do that), I basically averaged 6-30 kills, it was great. Also: Great thing about portal fishing (it's what I call it) is that if the enemy shoots you through your portal, you can just cancel your portal and live, it's just not easy because my instinct tells me from 100% of other games that moving away is easier, faster and more efficient, when it's 100% not. Nice vid, thanks for the tips. Tbh I'm nowhere near pro enough to enter that new tournament (tho I honestly would like to be) but I'm having fun with it and am kinda having some explosive improvement lately, I don't even recognize my own ability, not to brag or anything) Thank you for reading my Tedx Article, have a nice day, You.
Btw you can teleport odd ball if it's underneath a blue floor this helps when the odd ball is dropped and just out of reach and it can make for a quick steal.
Despite being a diamond myself and already knowing some os this stuff without someone telling me, I did learn some stuff. The jet pack has gotten me killed more times then I like to admit, and I straight up didn’t know that higher speed means more melee damage. Glad to see this game getting the live it deserves.
Tip 51, you can crouch down to the edges of portals, the glowing bit, and still shoot through it. Since people will often spray the upper part to middle of the portal, I'll be safer.
Here's 2 tricks I use 1. In oddball, if the ball is on a bottom floor portal that looks like this 1:46, put a portal where you spawn and put a portal under the oddball to get the lead, i think Atlantis is the only map that an oddball is under a portal. 2. If you have the BFB or the Oddball and a enemy is chasing you, hide behind a corner and wait for the enemy to appear for an easy kill.
A headshot with a battle rifle and a melee is an instant kill. Even if you miss the head the melee lunge will line you up with the enemy and you can instantly hit another burst.
Great video lot's of helpful tips. I knew the bfb had a lunge effect, but I didn't when you had to aim to the side, nor that you could tell from how it opens up. I had vague intuition that it's better to aim to the side but I din't know why.
My FAVORITE mode so far is oddball, its so fun just running arround with the oddball, its like manhunt but u got jetpacks and portals which adds more advantage, especially stadium, u can get away fast
All the good games when they were released they stayed around at least 100k viewers on twitch then started to grow up and mentain the hype (apex, valorant). Meanwhile our lovely Splitgate stays with at 3k-ish average , sometimes going to 8k.
I love splitgate, just to make myself understood, im just question marking that im not sure if it will grow up that much. Even R6 siege a 19$ game has aorund 10kish viewers average and last night they had over 90k on e-sport events
Tip for using Sniper, Shotgun, and Rocket Launchers. Quick swap after shooting for better fire rate(preferably to another strong single shot weapon). This saved me a lot of times when coming up against two people in Team Shotty Sniper game mode. Another tip (tho i'm not sure about this one). A quicker way of taking out an enemy is going for 2 Carbine shots then swapping to AR to get the remaining 40 hp. (please correct me if i'm wrong on this one)
The momentum trick with melees to make them one tap was something I discovered on my own and realized that it seems as if almost no one knows about it and I often got called a hacker when I would use it with a few other portal placement strats in showdown and on mostly on simulation golf and this was how I would dominate the first few rounds of showdown until the enemy caught on to where I was coming from and I would get shot out of the air
i am so overall daunted after seeing this, because i just started yesterday, i have 4 games on and im doing good, but seeing that there is already pro players makes it seem so much more challenging than i thought. i need to practice
Tips I have: Learn to quick swap in shorty sniper Can be very good Weapons physical recoil when mid air, so you can jump, use all your jetpack and shoot down right after to have the highest jump possible
#51 When shooting through your own portal, place it so that your head will be poking through at the very bottom instead of it at the middle, where enemies can get the red reticle easily
Tip: Whenever u have a shotgun even though if u aim away try to aim slightly away cuz the shotgun has a spread so dont aim to forever when u are using the shotgun
I’m a fairly above average player I used all of these when I got started these definitely help especially when you get good with them make sure to try them all out to their full extent if your struggling to climb ranks
