Honestly, I'm fine with with Splitgate being more of an experiment and Splitgate 2 doing everything again, but better. It just needs care. Refined gameplay. Active marketing. Consumer-friendly service. Nail that, you'll have success
Just like how portal was more of an experiment and portal 2 was what valve considered a fully-fledged game
this is my first time hearing about this game and as a splatoon fan, im all for more "gimmicky" shooters as most shooters nowadays are just, bland. from what i can see this game truly has potential... though in the trailers the map design does feel a little restrictive, like on the level of splatoon 3, compared to the first 2 games. more portal-able walls could be nice (maybe with portal-like portal removers to prevent cheesing and such)
also it needs a single player campaign. there's so much potential to be done with having portals and a gun separately, shouldn't just be limited to pvp

@@claw25533 if they allow for workshopping, even if it's a third party thing with no official dev kit, and try to incorporate, implement, or even drop in the best designs, it would be awesome; i'd love to have a featured workshop ranked mode that rotates every season or something like that, to keep it fresh and interesting

@@johnsmith-fk7fw Streaming does in fact NOT ruin games. If it wasn't for streamers, a lot of games woudn't get attention. In splitgates case. not enough people could stay interested
@@crustyk1ller968 it has ruined games because before, people wouldnt just copy what their streamer said and actually play the games. now as soon as theres a patch everyone is using the same guns, or dropping games so fast because the streamer moves on (obv they have to pump new content so they drop games fast).
it has given attention to a lot of games, but game quality has dropped because it doesnt make sense to make the game really great when just 'mostly ok' will do and people will stop playing in 2 weeks anyways

@@UmbraVivens94Most people's builds won't. UE5 has a reputation of being horribly buggy, and any game associated with it, has had a slew of issues.
Unless the splitgate devs are masters of optimization, I ain't holding my breath on this.

@Game4Lord I know this is a unfair comparison but I haven't had any issues with Fortnite on ue5 other than shader compilation taking the a while.
I remember playing this when it first came out in mid 2019. It was the beta and I got an ad on RUclips for it.
I was so blown away how incredibly simple but so technical the game was. There is so much potential to be made with this game.
Lets hope the newer installment will be a bit less stiff.
i first discovered this game early june 2022, fell in love with the game. i wish i had more time to play the game though, as it is almost criminally underrated and not well known nowadays. this game has/is a blast to play and i have met alot of great people because of this game. i am really excited to see what the future holds for us.
i love the new graphics too, looks much more smooth and the portal placement seems Much more fast and instant. i can imagine people getting to new heights with the gameplay.

I worked my ass off super late trying to get the Wormhole Warriors tag from one of the battle passes, cause I wanted to have the OG shit hahaha. Man! I remember playing Snowy Helix with a perfect rectangle health bar like it was yesterday.
I was there for the first beta and the first release. When they branded 1.0 a beta and released the game a 2nd time and tried to cover up the games launch state is the day I walked about and refused to support a studio lying to their playerbase though.
I’ve been with Splitgate since 2016, I want to stay with whatever comes next!

Splitgate was my go to game since pc early access right up until I left home for the army. It was so much fun. Good job, 1047, thanks for the memories
i remember those ads in 2019.. "Halo meets Portal" its crazy how its been 4 years and i only have a 16 minute playtime on this game

the only reason i stopped playing splitgate was because i've grown up playing COD on controller and the aim curve felt similar to games like battlefield, six siege, apex, etc. and i couldn't push past it for long. gameplay was a lot of fun and was super refreshing, really looking forward to what you guys have in store!
Splitgate 2 wishlist: comment what you'd like to see in the version 2 of the game.
I'll go first
- Single/Multiplayer campaign periodically released (each paid is fine) along with the free (improved) multiplayer game we have now
- Vehicles (and modes with / without)
- Moving targets in practice area
- Game replays in-game
Hopefully this one gets VR support one day so i can actually get into it

I really hope this game gets the upgrade it fully deserves in Splitgate 2. I played this game when it first came out and stuck round for 6-9months and absolutely loved it. It just couldn’t compete with flashier, smoother , better looking games but as an Arena Shooter it was really a great game. I’m hyped for the new iteration because this game deserves a real chance. It has solid gameplay and the portaling feels great, with a better engine this game can be a classic; those of us who played it a lot know it’s value, especially in a battle royale dominated environment, it’s a nice change up, has shades of halo to it. If it had better gunplay and was just generally ‘smoother’ in its overall execution it’ll dominate. But still an amazing game for the budget and team sizes.
I thought splitgate was shutting down then I look at the comments to see that it's splitgate 2 so I can't wait to see more of this.

Can't wait for the next game, portal mechanic was the best thing ever. Allowed for such a high skill ceiling and everyone could enjoy it as it was a super strong ability- and I'd pick this over more ability based shooters like Val, the portal tech is super multidimensional without needing to be confusing like a whole slew of abilities, and so it'd be easier to keep it balanced as well
I just re fell in love with splitgate again .. its so good just as a shooter in general my type of game.
