    Hey guys,
    My name is Danny Hartsell and my wife Katie and I live here in Alabama near Lay Lake. I’ve been involved in fishing and hunting since I was a kid and used to camp out a lot. When I’m not working at the fire station I teach on the water training classes on Humminbird electronics. Katie and I run a small side business called electronic fisherman.
    Now that you know a little bit more about us I’ll explain why I’m contacting y’all.
    We are both getting closer to retiring and we have rekindled the desire to get back into camping, especially since we have 4 grandkids now. We are planning on purchasing a Freespirit high country rooftop tent for my truck this week. We are super excited and have been planning and watching every camping video that we can. This evening we came across your videos and thought they were awesome !!!Lol, we spent our Saturday night watching Where We Wild videos for almost 4 hours. You guys do a great job and Katie and I really loved your video content. We are fired up to get going with our new camping adventures and we wanted to say thank you to you guys. If your travels ever bring you to Alabama, please contact me and we’ll show y’all some southern hospitality and take you fishing. Some of those big swim baits would work here as well lol. Thanks again for the videos. Feel free to contact me sometime if you’d like to talk fishing. Danny 205-965-5758

      I’ve actually got a little over 2 years left until retirement from the fire department. When we get our new camping setup, I send you guys some pics. Thanks again for all your hard work in providing informative videos. Be safe, Danny and Katie

    ive been just boiling water in a stainless steel or aluminum coffee pot with the grounds just in the water.. after it boils for about 10 min, i use a cold water in a bottle to spray around the inside edges ( i poke a hole in the lid for control) which knocks all the grounds down.. pour slowly.. no grounds in mug .. real "cowboy coffee"... ands its smoooth

      @WhereWeWild 1st few times it is.. after that its just as fast as a French press.. (if I have electricity available I use a kettle and French press)

    Do you have to preheat the glass on the FP so it doesn't crack?

    • @WhereWeWild
      @WhereWeWild  Год назад

      No I think they are made to withstand the hot water. We’ve used this one many times over the years and that’s never been an issue even on the coldest of days. They also have all stainless steel ones too, which are nice. We linked some decent ones in the description 😊🤙🏽

      Do you have to preheat your coffee pot. It's the same thing. The coffee pot even sits on a hot plate. Are you trolling. Gotta be. 🤦🤨

    Does your French press have plastic parts?

    • @WhereWeWild
      @WhereWeWild  Год назад +1

      The lid on this one is. I prefer our stainless steel one personally, but this one you can see through the glass which was better for showing how it works. 😊 We linked stainless steel ones in the description 🤙🏽

      The problem with the French press, although it does make the best coffee, it's a hassle to clean; particularly while camping.

    • @WhereWeWild
      @WhereWeWild  Год назад +1

      @@jeffreyrozier2943 Ahhh it’s not so bad. 😊 You just scoop or dump the majority of the grinds out into the garbage and rinse off the rest. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Like washing any other dish. Most campgrounds we’ve been too have water stations and even sinks within a very short walk away, but if not we just use whatever water we have for our dishes.

    • @jeffreyrozier2943
      @jeffreyrozier2943 Год назад

      @@WhereWeWild yeah, you're probably right.
      The French press is my favorite, but I don't even like cleaning it at home. I figured cleaning it at a camp site is even a bigger headache.
      I usually just do a pour over with filter while camping.
      But French press makes the best cofffee.

    • @WhereWeWild
      @WhereWeWild  Год назад +1

      @@jeffreyrozier2943 It’s just one of those little things that can really make you feel much more at home. 😊 So many things that we take for granted at home become much more difficult when camping so anytime you can have something kind of cross over and be the same or as good as you have it at home is really nice mentally and allows you to relax a bit more if that makes sense. 😊🤙🏽
