Fun fact - the girl Maleficent picks up, playing 3/4-year old Aurora, is Angelina's real daughter. They couldn't get any other kiddies to do the part because they started crying when they saw Angelina in her costume, so they asked if she could get her daughter to do it, since she was the proper age and looked the part. I think that just adds more to the scene.

Little fact about her discovering the wings are gone: Angelina Jolie said the scene was one giant metaphor for being violated. The drugging, the pain, realizing what happened, it's all right there.

Here's some interesting research I found on the actual story:
Apparently the spinning wheel is a metaphor for growing up.
The Curse was essentially Maleficent saying, "She will be given the chance to grow up."
By burning them, the king was saying, "She will NEVER grow up!"
Us meeting Stefan as a kid and him being kind of alright at first is I think supposed to make the point that attackers and abusers can be anyone, even ppl we thought were cool, even ourselves if we let ourselves feel entitled like that, so we’ve gotta look out for these behaviors

Sorry, but the 2nd one is absolutly not as good as this one. It's weird and unnecessary. Disney should've just settled for one Maleficent movie that's actually good.

I love this version of Maleficent. I always hated and despised Maleficent from sleeping beauty but seeing her backstory and all in this movie made me not hate or despise her and to actually thinking she alright I mean yes, she still did a wrong thing, but it was out of hurt. Not that it makes what she did okay but still. I also love the relationship between her and Aurora. It's like a type of mother daughter relationship and I love that. And she realizes the Aurora isn't really the one she's actually mad at and wants to take away the curse. Love your videos! You do such an amazing job!
The best Disney live-action remake! I really wish Disney had done with the others that they did with this one and just told a different story. But at least we have Maleficent !!

I think the reason she took care of the baby was because she (at least in her mind) wanted her to survive long enough for the curse to be fulfilled.

As well as Stefan being a victim of his environment, and then Aurora being a victim of someone else’s feud. All in balance on how the real world works, no hero’s or villains just circumstances and decisions and outcomes
@@LS13. yeah but you can clearly see who's more in the wrong here, which is Stefan. He's a victim of his environment but his environment allowed him to have a choice. Maleficent had a choice too but it's more understandable as to why she did what she did because of what happened to her. It doesn't make sense for Stefan to do what he did because he wanted to become a king. He manipulated her and used the bond and love they had for each other to get close and chop off her wings instead of killing her because.. he clearly knew what he was doing was wrong but still decided to do it anyway because he is selfish and cared about his own desires. Being fucked up to someone because they did you dirty is reasonable in a sense but doing something fucked up to a innocent person (while even knowing it's fucked up) simply for your own selfish reasoning.. is fucked up. He chose to be a bitch and lied to her and took her wings, a woman he used to care for and date simply to be a king because he knew he had the advantage for knowing her and because he didn't want anyone else to become king.

I think at first, Maleficent's plan was to have Stephen suffer the fact that Aurora will fall under the curse, which drove Stephen mad, which did became his down fall

I missed watching your reactions,I had a blast and laughed af as always,and I had to watch this reaction asap I saw the notification,Maleficient is one of my fav movies,and among my fav Disney's live-actions,it hits hard,and has it all: Angelina Jolie,a fantasy world,cool fantastic creatures,sick battles,a skin-changer crow that turns into badass wolf and dragon,and a lot of emotions.
The mother-daughter relationship between Aurora and Maleficient is top-notch,and she isn't even her real mom,and it's one of the best I've seen in movies,because,seeing Maleficient crying over a forever asleep Aurora breaks my heart every time,and when her kiss is the one that works,my heart is one piece again

This movie shows there are no good guys or hero’s. As there are no villains. Everyone is circumstance to their environment and their choices are influenced. Stefan got influenced by his poor upbringing, which influenced malefícents wrath, then in return influencing Stefan to go mad because he was so in fear and basically had a daughter he never actually knew…. In the end everyone is just a victim. But it also shows maleficents influenced change to good by aurora, showing there are still good things, all in balance. Great movie.

I mean... Stefan is very clearly the villain. Just because someone has A reason for doing something, doesn't mean it's a good or justified reason nor does that mean they're a victim

I mean Maleficent kinda did it to herself, her gift to Aurora was, "You will be loved by all who meet you." Kinda a stupid move honestly.
What's also cool is the scene with the little girl who walked right up to Angelina Jolie was her actual daughter, all the other little actresses were too scared and would run away, Angelina's daughter was the only one who would come near her and as we see grab the horns out of curiosity. XD It's very cute.
You should react to more movies with music.
