Hi Folks. Seeing myself giving the safety briefing brought back some fantastic memories of the L7C days we ran at Rockingham. It was great to work with all the Team and Club organisers. So much so that after many years in the Instructor seat, I joined the Club and am now a 7 owner too. Keep up the enthusiasm. See you out there! Steve L

Rockingham was my first ever track day as well !
It was a great novice track. Shame its gone... but there are some great ones left.
I remember that day well! I think we were next to you in the garage (our names are on that sheet you put up!). Well done on the youtube channel, glad to see you're active in the club, and doing track days etc. We are as well, hopefully our paths will cross again the future!

Thanks for sharing! I did something similar for my first track day, though in a much less cool car haha (Honda Civic Si). Instruction was incredibly helpful and helped take the edge off as a newbie. This footage makes me want to get back out there! Thanks again.

@@Purplemeanie that would be good!! Ive on the North Coast of Northern Ireland so probably a bit impractical especially in a seven! I'd like to make some videos of my drives here along the North Coast roads etc

First off, thank you for the quality of your videos.
Secondly, may I ask you about the maintenance or those odd "things ya didn't consider" moments you may of had?
Im in the U.S. and I've never once seen a caterham outside a RUclips video. Even living by some of the best tracks in the country, they're so rare.
Thanks for the comment and apologies for the late response... maintenance is really simple on a Seven. Just a bag of spanners needed really. As for Caterham's in the US - I think the US is the biggest community of Caterhams outside the UK. There are a lot in the US, it's just the size of the country. There are owners clubs in the US though. If they're not going to a track then they're missing out! :-)

Ive thought about selling my corvette and getting one, but another challenge I've found is finding a dealership with a decent reputation. I'll keep looking and I appreciate your input on my maintenance comment.
Very good video! Why did you choose the 420R over the 620?
That’s a good question… for me the 620 is too fast. The performance isn’t at all usable on the public roads and the 420 delivers all the performance I need. Even Caterham will tell you they think the 620 is too fast. The 620 is really just a track car. Some people love it on the road, but it wasn’t for me. I’ve had a few really fast cars and they are just boring on a road until you’re going so fast that a) you’ll lose your license if you’re caught and b) kill yourself if something goes wrong. The 620’s are also difficult to run when cold and much louder on a track - meaning you often have to run a different exhaust to get under track noise limits. The 420 was the right choice for me :-)
good evening, here I am watching the video ... I really like the car ... where could you buy such a kit (do it yourself) and at what price ... and who could put it together for me ... the steering wheel should be on the left side of the vehicle .... I'm from Croatia
Hi Alen, building a Caterham from kit is just and option. You can buy the cars already built directly from Caterham Cars. They have European specification models that you should be able to purchase. The problem is there’s a very long waiting list at the moment. Thanks for watching the video. 👍🏼

Expect - company owners in 620r's to hog & bully the track wrongly thinking they are the Stig
Non Caterham only trackday:
Expect - squaddies with bowl cuts in Civics cutting everyone up wrongly thinking they are a wacing wiver
I've only done Caterham only track days and haven't experienced the 620 guys you talk about. But then seeing as I'm the Stig, they'll have trouble keeping up anyway! 🤣
