I have a good friend that went down in a Bonanza. He was with his dad and mom. They were in between Baton Rouge and New Orleans when they lost oil pressure and made an emergency landing in between the median of I-12. The wing clipped a truck at the last minute and spun to a stop. They all survived and were very lucky. His father does not fly anymore as the plane was a total loss. He also had a bonanza but decided to sell it and get a piper cub. Something much safer. Apparently the oil filter safety wire broke and that’s what caused it to loose oil pressure.
I didn't realise that the "Dr killer" 😮 reached those sorts of speeds. Nice aeroplane, thanks for sharing. My dad went solo in 9hrs, in a Condor, so he did pretty well on a challenging tail dragger😊
Love the vtail Bonanza! I flew my friend's 1947 model, wow did that thing accelerate when the nose was dropped compared with a 172. Great video! Cheers
Just a point of information, the V35B went to a 28V electrics in late 1978. With that you got a highspeed four second gear. But the 1973 in this video looked to have a pretty quick gear, maybe a bit of fast motion photography. Nice bird. Actually the io-550 has more than 15 extra hp. A 550 is rated at 300 hp +5% to a -0%, whereas the 520 is rated at 285 +2.5%, -2.5% so the factory says the difference could be as much as 37 hp.
@@LimaFoxtrot Time your gear with a stop watch. It should be 8-9 seconds. I have had two 28V systems one in a 79 V tail and the other in a 1977 B58TC (It had a 28V system as well). Both were 4 second gears. My current 75 V-tail has a slower 8-9 second gear. One of the reasons for Beech switching to a 28V system is a small weight saving. And my 1977 T210 had a really slow gear, probably 15 seconds going up.
@@larryweitzman5163I don’t consider 8 seconds slow. I can’t imagine a situation where I need it down 4 seconds faster. Especially if you’re flying ahead of the aircraft and have your flow down.
@@LimaFoxtrot I didn't say it was slow, but slower than the 28V system. I drive a 1975 with the slower gear. I didn't say it was unsafe. Among WWII fighter gears (P-51, P-47, P-40, F4U, F6F and the slowest gear of all, the F4F, which was raised and lowered by 29 nine turns of a hand crank, it was only human powered) the 14V Bonanza is lightning quick. But with the 28V Bonanza/Baron gear, its amazing to listen to it work. But in an emergency, that 4 second gear could make a difference.
When will you lot stop saying this on every single video? It's getting quite creepy. Just because she's female, you feel you need to drool in the comments of every darn video. Just let her get on with her job already, and stop with the "You're so amazing Dakota!" in every video!
If you could find a Meyers 200 (A-D) to bookend this video that would be amazing. They just didn't make many Meyers......but they really gave the Mooney and Bonanza a run for their money.
This is one of the great civilian airplanes. It broke the mold when it came out in the 40s. It keep up fairly well, but needs a pressurized cabin and 100 more HP.
LOVE IT! I want either a V-Tail Bonanza or maybe a Cirrus SR-22T and the V-35 IS NOT THE ONLY V-Tail design the K-35 series and and the J and H-35 series do as well… 😊 I’m a bit of a Bonanza fan myself! Love it! 😍 😊 However I don’t like the Dual Yoke system I’d rather have Pass-Yoke Bonanza! ✈️ 😊
Went solo in 3hrs?? I'm pretty sure when I was doing my PPL (in a PA38), it took longer than 3hrs to teach proper takeoff technique, climbing and descending, level and steep, climbing and descending turns, stalls and recovery, spins etc, let alone a few circuits in traffic with ATC... Solo in 8.5hrs was pretty smooth in the early 90s, and that was only the bare minimums.
Well that was solo in three hours formal instruction, after 1200 hours as an observer in seat during power line inspections for the SEC (State Electricity Commission). The observers sit next to a. Commercial pilot as they fly along power lines, and mark down on a map where vegetation needs trimming etc. He would have had a lot of stick time on the sly during those two years or so.
Looking for an old playing, my dad used to own back in the late 70s Vitale Bonanza 61 Quebec anybody seen that playing around would love to get in contact with the new owner

Nice try, Dakota, but that self-absorbed man wouldn't let you be the hostess and ask the questions!! He even finished your sentences for you! The previous one was similar.... try to get the better of the next one 😊
If you have the letters MD after your name or Dr. before your name, outside the hospital setting I disregard everything you have to say as well as your opinions. Let the doctors doctor and let the pilots pilot. I don’t tell you how to perform surgery so don’t tell me how to fly!!!!

So nothing to do with the plane. That they hit a truck and walked tells you something about how strong the Bonanza is.
Dakota looks so much happier in a plane rather than a boat.
Its the only time shes free from Creepy Bobby's greasy hands.

I bought a V tail Bonanza. I’ve had it for about five years. Fortunately, though, I’m not a doctor.
I have had my F35 for 30 years now. I still love flying it. No better handling light GA plane out there.
I do miss Dakota on sailing doodles. 😊
Truly a good dude. After the low pass. " you can pull harder but i won't" Sick af but still professional with passengers.

200k plus depending on engine and avionics
