Rubber Exposing rubber to rubbing alcohol infrequently can cause discoloration and deterioration, but prolonged use of isopropyl alcohol will wear down and eventually destroy it. Ensure the longevity of rubber by keeping it away from rubbing alcohol.
Maybe. Tires are synthetic rubber (butadiene, styrene , polyisobutylene polymers) mixed with natural rubber and highly resistant to chemical aggression... But the main thing it's that people that need to use rubbing alcohol doesn't care because they use solvent based tire dressing anyway .
I've always cleaned the tyre walls properly just to be professional...I have now started using tyre wax that doesn't sling and you get a nice matt or satin finish..
Good info. And you're right, I'm sure people will freak the heck out about using either of those products to clean the tires. Tires catch a lot of grief through their lives. That's such a small amount and evaporates so fast, it shouldn't be an issue. Especially if you protect them right afterwards.
Great information, thank you. I use an APC such as Optimum Power Clean or Super Clean. Your method probably works well where water usage is restricted.
I didn’t watch the video but I sure hope you aren’t using that bottle of alcohol on the rubber sidewalls which is 100% guaranteed to cause minor or worse cracking in the rubber. DO NOT use alcohol guys.
This is off the topic of tire dress, but I wanted to ask what is your experience in DIY ceramic coating on vehicles, including wheels? I'm considering buying a kit of ceramic coating at home for all my vehicles (2010 Chevy Corvette Z06, 2012 Harley Davidson Street Glide, and 2018 Nissan Titan Platinum crew cab truck). The Vette and Harley would most likely need some sort of correction for swirl marks in the paint , but not sure if the ceramic coating would solve for this? Thank you for your feedback!
Pro detailer here DIY kits are great but stick to the major brands as quality does differ widely. Carpro cquartz original/UK and Gtech CSL are both great options. They won’t fill in scratches or swirls so whatever is there will need to be corrected. If you’re happy with how the paint looks then feel free to install with no correction. You should get a dedicated wheel ceramic such as Gtech wheel armor. Follow the directions and you will be fine. Prep work is HUGE so make sure the car is properly decontaminated (iron x, thorough claying). Don’t forget a panel prep to wipe down the car. I always wipe down the car twice with panel wipe. Go around the car once with a light mist. Wipe everything, then redo it again.
@@EnYourMom thank you very much for the detailed feedback with product recommendations! I definitely will be getting the swirl marks treated before going through the ceramic process. Thank you again!
Great explanation you give on cleaning to the highest a perfect clean tire! 👍🏼
Take a shot every time he says “foul”. Lol.
Great video sir.

That video was WAY longer than it needed to be.

I use Mineral spirits to clean tire dressing build-up. Acetone is good too!
Great video and very informative. I’ve been a subscriber for years! Thanks!
I love watching Auto Fetish Detail videos and CSi Shine products are Superior to anything on the market. I only use CSi Clear Coat solutions products.
Great tips. I just would not want acetone to come near my clear coat.
Great video
What do you think of Tommy's Express Carwash?

Why dont you guys put out videos with off the shelf products that the average person can readily get. Why is it always some off brand exotic product.
Ironic....I am known for using very common products that are not from the detailing industry. Perhaps watch more of my vids.
Question: How long(approximately) does it last. Obviously, it's dependent upon conditions and temperatures specially living in Puerto Rico.
