- We visit once again the ever spectacular Lebanese, with Jawad Slim in his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX Proto in Full Attack mode at Mreyjat Hill Climb 2022. Although using a Lancer Evo IX shell, this machine is very much a parts bin from some of the best Mitsubishi Lancer Evo parts available, with a Lancer Evo VII chassis underneath and more curiously even, using a 4B11 Engine from the Evo X. all this for over 500Hp and only 1100Kg on this monster prepared by Ajwad Azzam and tuned by Kazan Performance Tuning.

Love seeing the 4B11 in this chassis. That engine gets over shadowed and forgotten far too often. Awesome car and fantastic driving!
4B11 is great engine. But it was only installed in Evo X and Ralliart.
4G63 was available in more chassis.

@@Emira_75 it´s used for instant boost when you get on the Gas again.
So you don´t have any Turbo Lag and have 0 Boost and no Power out of the Corner :)

Incredible driving. I wonder why they chose the 4B11 instead of the 4G63. Lighter?
Lighter. The head is much more efficient. If you're limited on turbo sizing or boost for say a said class you can make more power. The difference in say rally can me a big difference in which you have to run an intake restriction.
4b11 also got dual mivec on the cams.

@@MitchChubey I haven't really looked into Mitsubishi engines so is MIVEC their take on VTEC?
@bluesrike They use MIVEC. It uses hydrolic cam advance on both the intake and exhaust cams.
VTEC is Honda. They used a secondary cam profile to increase lift and duration.
@@MitchChubey Ah I see. When I said "is MIVEC Mitsubishi's take on VTEC?" I mean in the sense that they achieve the same thing: a variable valvetrain but in this case they use different means to achieve it.

It really would, but this one we couldn´t get it from the driver. And their decision reign supreme here ;)

i just dont understand how mitsubishi lancer evo's are so "race car"-ish, compact, built for race, street, iconic, solid, idk how to say it. it's just so "at home" for racing. when i play a racing game, i always look for any evo immediately, but evo 6 with the giant headlights/bumps is my fav look.

As long as one dont mind the shortening of the engine´s life due to the use of such aggressive Anti Lag settings....
Thats Anti-Lag it keeps the turbo spinning so when he lets off the gas and goes back on the gas he doesn't have any lag!
