It shouldn't be using a 4G63. Someone either forgot the X ditched the old and brought in better technology with the 4B11T. Either that or whoever put it through tech got away with murder during inspection. Group N is known as the "showroom class." They are meant to be as close to stock OEM vehicles as can be. There are a few rare exceptions and most of them aren't even performance parts, more just changes to ensure it goes from a near OEM showroom car to a car that can survive the harsh conditions of rally. It's stuff like steel wheels so the stock BBS wheels don't shatter after a nice big pothole, and upgraded suspension so you don't break a control arm after the very first jump that type of stuff. I mean they were so strict with the rules they required all the interior trim had to remain in the car, including the rear seat up until recently. One of the more 'advanced' things they did allow was changing of gear ratios and final drive ratios, as long as they followed the homologated ruleset for said ratios. Group A is what you're looking for if you want cars that "look" like a given car, but are completely tricked out with the best mods you can buy.
@@USDM_Jesus not worth it. 4B11 makes just as much power, is just as reliable and with better valve tech ...heads flow far better than the 4G too. Better volumetric efficiency. And let's not even mention how inferior the 4G transmissions were to the transmission in the X.
@@USDM_Jesus вы серъёзно? Но какой в этом смысл, менять более современную, совершенную деталь, на устаревшую? К тому же регламент ралли запрещает такие изменения в заводской конструкции. Помимо этого пришлось бы перестраивать всю машину. Couple hundred pounds but, the X handles better, brakes better, responds to mods better and has a more linear powerband...and let's not forget SAWC. The chassis is far better than any of the previous gens. Mine is 500whp, sleeved+built shortblock with forged internals, turbo upgrade, cams, upgraded valves and springs in the head, fuel system, E85 tuned, twin clutch clutch.. its not like just any Evo 8/9 is gonna pass me just because they're a bit lighter.
So sad they'll never make another one, great cars, great history in racing.
They announced in June they're making an 11!!!!! From the president himself!

The holy grail of the group N in rally! Best sound, best performance, best handeling.

I would immediately get the cops called on me if my Evo had antilag like this
Since when do group n cars have antilag 🤣🤣
if only it was 4g63
Its wouldn’t surprise me if they decided to use it instead of the 4b11T
