Honestly this is probably my favorite M&L so far gameplay wise Luigi isn't an inconvenience when platforming and feels his most useful in the overworld All bros moves are super solid, no bros moves get unused for me outside of green shell. Bosses in my opinion after the first two get really difficult, unlike most previous boss battles I genuinely get game overs. Also my boy Mario is in the game so it's always good.
After 40 confirmed hours in the game i only have 1 complaint i wish there was island specific battle themes the music slaps, but we only have 1 battle theme and 2 boss themes
@@waffler-yz3gw No that's true. There are character specific themes, but the battle themes were always the same. Imo they always manged to make those happy upbeat themes fit also the castles stages tho.

That said, the pacing is very slow for the first half, but by the time Bowser is brought in, the writing and pacing pick up tremendously.
For some reason, the more i hear this battle theme, i keep thinking it's the Gym Leader battle theme from Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, especially the beginning part 🤣
@@gamerpro_980 Not exactly. BIS had a different battle theme for Bowser Battles, and DT had a different battle theme in the dream world. I don't think this game only having one battle theme is a particular issue, but previous games have had more than one.
When comparing stuff a lot of things will be better or worse than another. In cases like this it's better to look at it as its own thing, and it bangs hard enough.
I was kinda expecting a clip of the ending cutscene of CTR Nitro-Fueled where Crash and Coco are doing the Crash dance. But either way, this new battle music is really catchy, and I'm really happy that Mario & Luigi are back!!
This is such a vibe, am I disappointed the voices aren’t the same, yes, but then again, this game is still peak! I can put aside my sadness of not hearing there OG voices, thanks Charles Martinez for the great voices.
It has a slow start and feels like it was made as one of those kids shows like Barney or Dora the explorer’s in some parts. But most of those issues are only on the first three or so hours. Once you get past that point it starts to pick up so I definitely recommend it.
I can understand you not liking it, since its different than a lot of the others, but superstar saga’s remastered theme is so mid- paper jam had a much better remix of that song
@@POP_TR I understand your viewpoint, and i agree that paper Jam's battle theme is great, but the unique twists and extra parts in the DX version make it a little less repetetive, which makes it better gameplay vice, when the paper jam version could be more suited to background music or ring tones. But that's just my take

I'm sure that it could come back in the next game. I mean... It's been 9 years since the last original game and under a new studio things are bound to get better.
B button during battles and actually following Mario and having you have to time your jumps over gaps and stuff instead of having him auto-pathing towards Mario and then dragging you back if you get too far from it. IDC if people think having to make both bros jump over every gap was annoying or something, I loved it.
I'm glad that the battle theme is nice, but other than that the OST really just doesn't live up to the previous entries, especially something like Bowser's Inside Story. And even that battle theme was miles ahead. The lack of Yoko Shimomura really shows

I like how it incorporates an accordion. It really gives it that pirate-y feel of exploring the high seas.
