I liked both Sharon and Barbara but when I think of Atlantic Starr I always think of Sharon Bryant first, so sad kids today don't realize how good this was..
I was heartbroken when Sharon Bryant left😢. I loved her voice, they made several great hits when she was with the group. "Keep it Coming" & " l'Il Never Miss the Love I Never Had, lead singer David Lewis was two of my favorites. Those two songs were on their first album that was released in 1978. Also, the duet "Losin' You" with Wayne & Sharon as well on the "Straight to the Point" album that was released in 1979. Barbara Weathers was a very good fit when Sharon was replaced. In my opinion she saved the group. After Barbara left they were never the same…
Monique Randall from what I saw on unsung those brothers had big Ego's so the women they chose never lasted with them. I didn't care for them at all. They should never have let Sharon get away. Barbara was good but Sharon's voice was so cool to me. She had a gift.
In the 80's Atlantic Starr is one of the most popular group of all time back in the day! Sharon Bryant is the next Chaka Khan back in that time! Still love their music!🎶🎶🎶😊❤🎶
The group hasn’t been the same since Sharon left. They had modest hits BUT Sharon was Atlantic Starr. Wayne and David had great vocals as well. And don’t 4get the drummer Porter Carroll had nice vocals as well; love his vocals on George Howard’s Have I Ever Crossed Your Mind. Smooth track there. I missed Atlantic Star.🎶👍🏾
@@enriquetheprofessor I agree! I thought Barbera was great with them. Then when she left; she toured with Kirk Whalum; saw her @ the Keswick Theatre with Kirk and the late Wayman Tisdale. She sounded great. I always wonder what happen to her?🤨🎶🎤👍🏾
@@etpslick100 I connected with her on social media (Facebook). She was active for a few years and then suddenly, her page was deactivated around 2016 or so. I hope and pray she is doing ok.
This was the very first lineup of A.S. but according to A&M thy had let go some of the members including Sharon until she remained up to the 1983 Yours forever album, then came 1985 with As the Band Turns album to introduce Barbara Weathers.
Because of the question that the presenter asked to the trumpeter ,I would like to see the whole performance to this; 'cause I want to see him revolving his trumpet around his fingers... Which song did they perform here, just before the interview...??
It was “Circles”, which hit the soul and pop top forty singles charts of 1982!!! Brilliance was a number one soul album and was as a top two hundred pop album of Billboard magazine’s album charts of 1982!!!

When Sharon left the group I stopped listening to there music. For me she was there best female lead. Voice 4days and just an all around great stage presence.
TOTALLY ONE OF THE *** BEST SHOWS.****
The best thing that ever happened to Atlantic Starr was Sharon as far as I'm concerned. Love her.
The same here.
I agree. Best female vocalist .
Sharon is and always will be THE SOUND of Atlantic Starr.
Sharon Bryant was clearly the VOICE for Atlantic Starr. LOVE ME DWN IS MY FAV!!! Can't wait 2 c them on Unsung

Dick Clark was so gracious, the perfect interviewer. They do not come so anymore !

THE LOVELY MS. SHARON BRYANT!!!!!!!!!!
The Lovely Sharon Bryant of Atlantic Starr!
I got so lost in the interview that I failed to realize that there will be no music. RIL Dick Clark,❤
SHARON BRYANT! oh my
My favorite song by them was love me down. 1982. I wonder did they sing it next.
I knew Bill the trumpet player from NY.... I remember the day he called me to tell me he was gonna be on the train.. Wow...memories
The first leading lady of the band
the group should have stayed with her.. She was the best singer to me of this band.
Sharon Bryant looks like Angela Bofill on this interview they have the same complexion and features.
@VintageSoundsNumber1 They performed Circles.
Deception ! I've been looking for the performance; and couldn't find it
If You Don't Like Funk, Funk You ! ....yea your right man I been looking for it too ....it was up here one time now it’s gone

I think Barbara Weathers was a great co-lead vocalist for the band, and they achieved their biggest hit single with her -"Always".

The ONLY female singer of Atlantic Starr imo!!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
He said she was the only female in the group. At the time she was the only female lead vocalist before she left the group and was replaced.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dick Clark is an amazing interviewer, and he stays in control, but feels friendly. I read he was a shark,
Atlantic starr kept a fine sista that could sing ,in the group

Outlook circles

She is soooooooo fine and they are so talented.
Classic.
@sda1225 My god. Love me down! I must have burned a hole in that tape!
1982?
Yes
After seeing how fame driven and greedy David and Wayne were its hard for me to enjoy them but Sharon is my all time favorite.
You cant blame them, it was their music and song writing that put sharon bryant on the map! as you did see sharon bryant was nothing without them.
