    The Timemore Black Mirror Coffee Scale is a great option for those looking for a full featured brew scale, at a reasonable price point. It includes great features such as a timer, auto mode, a rechargeable battery, and good water resistance. Timemore has been making coffee tools for a while now, and this scale is another great addition to their lineup. It can be used for espresso, or pour over styles of brewing, as well as simply serve as a kitchen scale.

    I cannot imagine doing espresso without weighing it. It makes a huge difference in being able to pull a shot and the proper amount of extraction, as you said.
    Also agree that a scale with 0.1 g is plenty accurate - but I struggled with a less accurate one that one goes to 1.0 g for some time and it's just not good enough.

    Also, the new shooting style gives the video a far better flair!

    One thing I've not heard anyone evaluate is just how fast the scale is. I have a budget scale and can mostly live with it, but it doesn't update too fast as I pour, which means I often overshoot my final water weight. (I'm also using a typical kettle with no gooseneck, which doesn't help.)

    As usual, great video with such a stylized yet banging out the needed and necessary facts. Love this channel! Wish you did more than coffee related stuff. You should consider more of a Consumer Reports style channel, based around a guy's life (or woman's) meaning - just things you find in your home. Easier said than done, I know. I just think you offer more information in 5 minutes than most in 10 min. And, I like the presentation layer.

      @@LifestyleLab_ That's good to read. As far as the coffee geeks, of which I am one, just continue your coffee line of reviews / updates / informatics while dropping videos of the alternative subjects. This is an utterly saturated RUclipsr genre and while great production, timely editing, and sought after products set the masters apart from the pack, it still leaves a large flock to choose from, so stick with what sets you apart. What sets you apart? IMHO, it is your engineers mind and approach. You get to the point without long interludes into stuff I don't care about. You don't wax eloquent on status quo of anything. You are to the point and offer, when necessary, grids, charts, whatever (your video on espresso time on the Breville with the bullseye pie chart is far and away the best on the internet - Breville or not).
      You seem like a distant cousin in style and prose to James Hoffman but James does wax eloquent too much about things I don't care about. Plus, he is not particularly descriptive on his ups and downs to a particular product. This is where you pull out of his draft and take the lead. Those are my thoughts and I'm sticking to them!
      Hope this helps my man.

    It would have been nice to see some quantitative testing performed. Often when a bunch of features are added to any product, it is done to mask the quality of the primary function and justify a higher selling price. The only thing we get from your video is the scale has advertised 0.1g resolution, not accuracy (how fine of a scale, not how close the result is compared to the real mass) and we know nothing about its repeatability. This is the one thing that bothers me soooo much about the scale I am going to replace, it will be consistent over the course of 5 measurements or so then magically report up to 0.6g off, which is maddening when you are trying to dial in a new bean. As we know, controlling your inputs matters the most with brewing espresso and the scale is a part of that foundation.

    TLDR; Product lasted 5 months, customer service does not even reply.
    I purchased the Timemore Pro scale. Living in Germany, there is basically no customer service for this product. I would never buy Timemore again.

    The Timemore is a piece of junk that stopped working after 4 months and required the purchase of more than $100 of calibration weights to fix.

    • @LifestyleLab_
      @LifestyleLab_  Год назад

      What calibration weights are you buying for $100???

    • @nternalPractice
      @nternalPractice Год назад

      @@LifestyleLab_ Price it out yourself. You need 20g, 100g, 500g, 1kg and 2kg. I decided it wasn't worth the cost. My hario scales haven't given me a moment of trouble after 10 years of use. The Timemore, on the other hand, is garbage and someone should tell people that, if you accidentally hit a button while it's charging, the calibration gets scrambled and it becomes unusable.

      Hmm can’t say I’ve had that issue, I even use mine while plugged in 🤷🏻‍♂️
      With that being said, that calibration routine is absurd if you actually need 5 different weights….

    Garbage scale. Bought one, the buttons would go unresponsive for no reason, exchanged it for another one and it started out ok. Same thing happened though and I can press all over and it never detects my finger. I sent a video to the company and never heard back. When it worked it was fine, but it's not reliable at all and support is non-existent.
