Please know that anyone selling Acaia scales on Amazon is not an official Acaia reseller. Also, the MSRP for the Pearl is $150 (the buying option listed on Amazon is $294), and the MSRP for the Lunar is $250 (listed as $295 through that Amazon link).
Hi Tony, we did mention each scale and their average price tag in general in the video itself. Feel free to share a link of Acaia's store on Amazon if they have and we will update it accordingly.
I Recently ordered the Felicita Arc scale for my DE1XL, they did update this scale to a type-c charging port, the scale is such an amazing device, works flawlessly with my machine.
Have the SearchPean to be used with my Flair 58 - works perfect. For drip I have the Timemore black mirror - hate it (kind of).. Using the auto timer you cannot really touch anything during pouring.. stops the timer and you loose track of brewing time. I went to a Normcore - simple, reliable and good price. Still use the timemore from time to time but mainly for single cup pouring with technique that do not require stir&swirls.
I recently got the black mirror mini which is basically the searchpean with flow rate for about 35usd, just for the flow rate I think it’s pretty competitive, and unlike the nano , I can see timer, weight and flow at the same time
@@MahdiAbuHadid unless is on an unstable surface it doesn’t do anything strange, for example on the tray of my bambino I always have a 0.2gr difference
My first scale was the $10 option under the name Weightman, or something like that and it lasted two weeks. Channeling hit it just right under the buttons and it was done, lol. My second scale, the SearchPean, I have had for something like 19 months, and it has never failed me even with lots of spills and sprays. However, it is by no means perfect. The first drip feature doesn't work well if you are using a manual machine like the Flair 58. If there is any lag between the first and second drop during preinfusion it will stop the timer. The second issue is if you get a channel going and it hits the touch spots for the buttons it will also stop the time or reset the weight. It does have to hit it just right, but it happens from time to time if I am dialing in a new coffee on the bottomless, which I probably shouldn't do. Do any of the scales listed resist resetting if they get hit by channeling? I'd pay for that upgrade as it happens often enough to be a pain in workflow.
Thanks for this video. When testing the accuracy, have you tried using that 100g calibration weight on all the scales to see if they all register correctly? Would be interesting to see.
Hi therr, we will be getting one soon. We would say it is most probably identical to the MiiCoffee, which is great considering Normcore has reasonable shipping fees too. We aslo have a discount code for them if you wish to use OCS5% 🤍☕️
Thank you for this very detailed video. A lot of work ! All this is a bit expensive for non-connected scales. Is there any good equipment under 50€ / 60$?
Great video! Really helpful as my Hario scale just broke after a drop on the floor! 😅 I see a bunch of coffee dosing containers in the bottom left behind you. What should one search for to find these? Looking for something that fits with an 18-20g dose of beans for my espresso setup! 😁
Hi there, thank you for your kind words and sorry to hear about your scale. It is time for an upgrade then, either the MiiCoffee or the Varia are wonderful consideration 👌 Don't forget to benefit from our codes. We have made a video about dosing tubes, it will be ready in two weeks. However, we can tell you from now go with the Normcore tinted tubes. Normcorewares.com We also have discount code for them 👉 OCS5% Goodluck and happy new year! 🤍☕️
After watching this i ended up getting the felicita. Trying to connect it via bluetooth but its asking for a pairing code. Does anyone know it? Unfortunately, it's not in the manual.
I have the newest scale from them and I have had a great experience. I got the mini version and it fits on the tray of a gaggia classic. I would recommend, especially for the price!
Hey scale makers......We DONT use 1 scale to grind and make espresso. We have a scale for the grinder, and we LEAVE the scale at the grinder. We dont complicate things and move the scale to the drip tray. That is stupid. So we DONT use the "Smart" features that 1 scale is used for grind and extract espresso. Also, we DONT like touch screens! We need REAL buttons that respond rather softly, as scales are not heavy items. So, a sensitive enough auto start to sense a drop of espresso, and start timer automatically is ALL we need as far as "SMART". If you want to allow for LOGGING these extraction weights and times...that might be welcome!
What a wall you have behind you. That is an incredible display of coffee equipment!
Everything will be reviewed, stay tuned for the future videos ☕️🤍😊

Nice to hear that, thank you for sharing your feedback! ☕️🤍
you welcome :] where are the winners announced?@@ourcoffeeshelter
DiFluid just came out with an update of their scale. Seems like a good middle ground that works for espresso and drip.

Yes, this! I regret purchasing the black mirror for the same reason -any drip will cause it to turn off or reset.
I have the new Felicita and it has USB-C. They changed it. I thing for the price and considering you can fit 2 cups, it is the best one.
Interesting, it is a great scale for sure, we personally enjoyed using it for the last two years 👌💯

hello can u use the black mirror mini to make drip coffee
@@PERSA_Coffee yes. It always show the flow rate

thanks for the video! I've seen the Acaia Lunar scale in most barista videos!
Thank you! It is a safe choice to go with and that is why many people go for it 🤍☕️
Wow I had to pause to look at your background, that’s a heck of a collection.
Doing our best to share the knowledge and the experience with everyone ☕️🤍
I bought the search pean scale on Amazon. Email support from the manufacturer was superb.
Congratulations, glad to hear that! 🤍☕️

Hi there, we did try that, and we cannot remember if some were off by 0.1g, but it was in that range. Nothing was completely off ☕️🤍
Great vid! Any comments on how the new Normcore pocket coffee scale compares against the Varia AKU? Cheers!

Which model has the best display for somebody who doesn’t see well? Thank you for the very informative video.
Hi there, probably the Artisan Barista has the largest numbers then the Felicita Arc. Thank you for the kind words and Happy New Year!

How do you find the build quality of the Difluid microbalance?
It is really good considering the price tag ☕️🤍👌
hope u can review the eureka precisa scale same size as pearl i think
Can you take a look at the Fuego scale/Kaffia Professional mini? Have been liking it so far!
Hi which best scale from all??
Varia AKU ticks all the boxes!
Indeed!

Good luck for ever ❤
Thank you! ☕️🤍😊
what are the fastest (in response) scales for espresso?
Felicita and Acaia are the most expensive and the fastest.
Is felicita arc fit under flair 58?
Hi there, unfortunately no. Would definitely recommend either the MiiCoffee or the Normcore scales for that 🤍☕️
Best one is that i can afford 😂😢
Ps i have acaia and brewista and still missing something like flow rate featurei am considering one with that tech 😅
