Certo...ma nel 1980 gli atleti erano ancora allenati e provenienti dalla precedente scuola itf...l'impostazione era quella! Oggi è diverso...è un altra cosa e si combatte i modo completamente diverso!
tae kwon do is great with it variation of kicks and spinning kicks. Timing, balance and speed is so crucial in tae kwon do. This version combine with boxing and or judo for grappling makes it effective.
The flexibility, speed, power, balance and how clean their kicks are is completely different from the competition of today. Its like watching the contact of Kendo vs Fencing with the foil.
Im pretty sure this is the 1985 World Championships. The last year they competed without helmets. The next year, 1986 they had introduced helmets, like in the '86 Seoul Asian Games
1985 7th world championships ,actually I fought in the featherweight division for Australia in this tournament as a 21 year old..3 years later new olympic rules everyone had to wear protective gear or they wouldn't allow teakwondo in the Olympics in 1988.😊
back then it was just kick the opponent and hope you score, nowadays its thinking about how you can score and the best way to win. there isn't much different between so called "old school" and "new school"
good old days. the dislikes are mostly from nowadays wtf tkd style, afraid to get direct kick to the face. who always protest to the referee why he dont get any points, who always annoys the official to ask video replay system, who always hands up everytime he think he get points. boring dancing & fencing gaining score called martial arts. bring back my good old days! bring back my 18yrs of waste & my 3rd kukkiwon dan training wtf tkd, before they change the gameplay & rules
the finals: 1) - 83 kg: Metin Şahin (Turkey) vs S-korea. 2)-64 kg: Ahmet Ercan (Turkey) vs S. Korea. 3) +83 kg: Zahidi (Iran) vs S. Korea. Friends from my generation.
are you sure about that? i don't know about non korean fighters you mentioned, but those korean fighters, i think the first one was chung kook hyun (welter weight -76kg), second one, i'm not sure. The third one is Park Bong Gwon (lightweight -70kg), park bong gwon won gold on 88 olympic. Later yrs, he appeared a lot at international events, coaching those times. It used to be different weight division back then.
I did TKD from 2000 to 2015. Since then I did judo and other martial arts. Most people say that this is more fight-y or real than current TKD. I just want to remember you that any form of striking sparring that has no punches to the face is not realistic. Any of this guys, as hard and tough as they are, would last 30 seconds against a trained boxer. Said that, it is undeniable that this looks more entertaining than leg fencing.
The Sanshou Sanda of Wushu Which is *ONE OF KUNG FU'S CATEGORIES* ALWAYS REQUIRES TO WEAR A HELMET EVEN IN THE PROFESINAL BOUT OF SANSHOU SANDA NUMB NUTS
imagine leg fencing with one of these guys while they are waiting to slice you in half with just one kick, and then ref stops the fight to check on camera to see if it was 2 or 3 points. Wtf today is pointless, maybe sport for girls, i dont have anything against that. Old school tkd had a martial art element wich made it serious, guys could spar with thai boxers and kyokushin fighters with little adjustment and not get beat up. Imagine todays tkd black belts sparing with thai boxers, better not. Sorry for bad english.
No helmet, hands up for guard, using punches like a real fight. If only we still do this, no one will say TKD is just a sport
Ok....but It's taekwondo itf.😉👍
The true taekwondo is military taekwondo(is a boxe,kick...) a true martial art and not « just a sport ».
@@mariopagani9280 No this is WT, ITF has a different dobok ,and they don't have a chestplate.

my best time, i miss those days
Old school Taekwondo. When men fought like men. This is true Taekwondo. Today a sport. Back in the day it was combat.
The shame of 2021 Taekwondo brought me here. LONG LIVE THESE REAL LEGENDS! One day there sport will return. To there glory days
Yeah its just so boring see how they just mark points, nothing exciting
@@PopularVisualWave i Agree, I wish I could start my own Taekwondo tournaments. This is just ridiculous how they allowed this to happen.
That's why I do itf
@@Neighbour1 what part the ban?
Thet's the real Taekwondo no fancy kicks. I love it!

1980 This was when i used to compete in TKD. I don't really recognize the sport today. I recognise it, I just wish I didn't...
Esas si eran peleas, la vieja escuela era lo mejor

Yes, a combination with Judo is great.

As an ITF Taekwondo athlete, I would really love to spar with any WT athletes that utilized old school sparring style.
O melhor taekwondo praticado de todos os tempos, diferente dos de hoje
@0:48 very clever
front ax kick to block back kick, another front ax kick
then back round house hook to the head
very clever!
Esto es taekwondo de hombres sin casco a pelo y dando duro... Yo competí en los 80, era del montón, pero me apasiona el combate...

You're right, also look at the weight class - goes to 76 kg.
Yes, 1985. We see Jeong Kook Hyun (Welter), Park Bong Kwon (Light) and Han Jae Ku (Feather). These were the giants of the 80s.
That's what I was thinking, because back in 1980 they couldn't do this shit.
Very nice uploading.
Thanks a lot
