Excellent reaction, and wonderful choice for a first Sabaton song since this was their original war themed song. The lead vocalist is Joakim Broden, one of the founding members of the band. He actually joined the band as the keyboardist and had no intention of singing. But he was one of the few band members who had written some songs, which he was asked to sing so the others could hear the melodies. Since they had no singer at that time, they asked him to become the lead singer "until they could find one." As Joakim explains it, "they never did...lazy bastards."

Sabaton is a Swedish band with a loooong list of history based music.
Sabaton also has an award winning history channel that gives background to over 100 if their songs (not music award, academic, aimed at education of the public) .
Sabaton videos are often have dedictions and/or messages at the end, perhaps not always but, watching to the very end is frequently well worth it.
Animated STORY videos (short history lessons with music videos in them)
    No bullets fly
    Night witches
    Lady of the dark
    Red baron
    first soldier
    Epic videos.
Bismark, about the sinking of the ship
    Defence of Moscow, self explained.
Christmas truce, about the spontaneous truce in some parts of the western front during Christmas 1914
40:1, about polish soldiers, badly outnumbered (just under 750 in all) facing 42 000 germans, they where BADLY outgunned desperately defending against the German invasion 1939 (with odds actually close to 55:1 they held for 3 DAYS when ammunition and supplies ran out.
Uprising, the Warsaw Uprising against the nazi germans during 1944.
To hell and back, they tell the story of Audie Murphy (highly decorated) and his struggle AFTER the war, so about PTSD and drug addiction that returning soldiers can face.
Fields of verdun, the 300+ day long battle fought there.
Price of a mile, about the battle of Passchendaele
Screaming Eagles, about the battle of the bulge
    Live performances
    40:1 from poland
    Uprising from poland
En livstid I krig live from Göteborg Sweden (in Swedish but there are subtitles) , very heavy again, about thoughts of a young man going to war.
these are just some, there are plenty more.😢

Best Metalband in the world!!! The vocalist is Joakim Brodén. The band comes from the city of Falun in Sweden. They have their own Metalfestival "Sabaton Open Air"....and even their own History channel , where the band together with a skilled historian tell the story behind the events in the song.
Sabaton is actually pronounced "Saabaton" witha different sound to the letter "A" than you pronounced it 🙂
Please react to more from them! ...For exemple to one of their songs at the allready legendary performance on the Polish Woodstock Festival in 2012. ..When more than 500 000 of their fans were watching in the crowd!
Try for ex, their songs "´Ghost Division" or "Uprising".....you will not regret it ;-)

    - Sabaton is pronounce "sah-bah-ton". It's an old (french?) word for the armour covering a knight's boot.
    - Primo Victoria was their first big hit if I recall correctly
    - The lead singer's name is Joakim Brodem. He originally joined to be the band's keyboardist, and was asked to sing 'until the hired a lead singer'. As he jokes ":And they still haven't hired anyone." 😋
    - Sabaton has a RUclips channel called Sabaton History where they team up with a historian to discuss the facts behind their songs.
    - You may want to look up the Yarnhub animated videos for several of Sabaton's songs, where they include some of the historical background of the songs.

Great reaction:) Maria and the other posters are making great suggestions for Sabaton songs. Personally, I also like watching the live performances, especially from Houston Texas 2022. First, there is a tribute to WW1 American soldiers, "Dough Boys." Very touching, as they came from all walks of life to arrive and end the war in 1918. Sabaton Concert in Houston TX 10/1/22

D-Day, which took place on June 6, 1944, was the code name for the Allied invasion of Normandy in France during World War II. It was one of the largest amphibious invasions in history and marked the beginning of an extensive offensive by the Allies against Nazi Germany in Western Europe.
The invasion involved a massive landing of troops from the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other Allied nations, who landed on five beaches in Normandy known as Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword. D-Day was critical for establishing a stronghold in Europe, which later led to the liberation of France and ultimately the defeat of Nazi Germany.
The operation was carefully planned and involved extensive logistical and military preparations, including false information to mislead the German military about the invasion site. D-Day is considered a turning point in the war and had significant consequences for the outcome of the conflict.

Thank you for checking out a great band! Sabaton is pronounced Saab-uh-Ton (Saab rhymes with stab).
Next try one of the band's *animated story videos*... for No Bullets Fly or Night Witches!

Really good reaction. If you keep on this path you will find some really amazing music and videos.
A couple of must see is for example 'En livstid i krig' live from the Great Tour in Gothenburg, its in Swedish but use the subs. Another great song is 'No bullets fly' the animated story video.
    ... just for starters....

Joakim Brodén, the vocalist, has a baritone voice which is unusual in metal but works well getting the stories across.

tide turned actually in battle of Kursk but nobody care...as it was soviet union. I find it quite usa center in all media and what ppl remember. Fact: germany took out more soldiers on western front than usa, britain and france combined. They took way more soviets than they lost. Just by most effective they win...ideology. not so great. Who won the ww2 was soviet with financial support of usa. That was major contribution of ww2 from uda. ww1 was about 0.

Naturally you leave out the fact Stalin and Hitler were allies until 1941, a fact that made early German success much easier. Add in the TWO betrayals of Poland by the Soviet Union, the incarceration of Allied fliers in prisoner of war camps by Stalin, and the refusal of the Soviet Union to declare war on Japan until the very end and you have the old saying, "with allies like this who needs enemies". American aid to the Soviet Union (never paid back BTW) through Murmansk keep the Soviet war effort alive. American industrial might won WW2. As far as WW1, I suggest you read some actual history of the war, especially the fact that without American intervention in 1918 the stalemate would have gone on much longer.

Actually, it was the Battle of Stalingrad and not Kursk due to the fact that the Soviet Red Army managed to encircle and destroy one of the best Division in the German army as well as having Friedrich Paulus taken prisoner. Kursk as just another turning point but not a major one since the German Army after Stalingrad can no longer advance thanks to British and American Lend Lease and aid.
Additionally, you’re leaving out the fact that the North African Campaign was also a turning point and if the British lost North Africa they could’ve threatened the Soviet Union through the Caucasus from Turkey, Iraq and Iran.
Also the fact that you said that the US had zero contribution in World War 1 is downright wrong especially when the Entente was close to breaking since Russia was pulled out of the war and it was thanks to the U.S. that they were able to hold the line and fight on.
