Primo Victoria, Latin for Victory First, was Sabaton's debut album in 2005, and this single is a fan favorite...still played in the last 3 songs of every concert! Its a song best enjoyed live, bc the entire audience goes nuts! (**Read the description b4 you play their videos, K! You'll be less confused!) To learn more about Primo Victoria and D-Day...go to The Sabaton History Channel... the band understands that not everyone knows military history...so they made short educational episodes... maybe react to one or 2? Would draw a new audience...
Oh I see thanks for explaining. Yes this has been mentioned. My problem is I don’t have the time 😅. Now I know that sounds silly or maybe an excuse however my life is so rammed I’m currently struggling to keep up with dropping new releases. But I should really take 5 mins before recording to get a better understanding of their songs. Thanks Amy

D-Day, which took place on June 6, 1944, was the code name for the Allied invasion of Normandy in France during World War II. It was one of the largest amphibious invasions in history and marked the beginning of an extensive offensive by the Allies against Nazi Germany in Western Europe. The invasion involved a massive landing of troops from the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other Allied nations, who landed on five beaches in Normandy known as Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword. D-Day was critical for establishing a stronghold in Europe, which later led to the liberation of France and ultimately the defeat of Nazi Germany. The operation was carefully planned and involved extensive logistical and military preparations, including false information to mislead the German military about the invasion site. D-Day is considered a turning point in the war and had significant consequences for the outcome of the conflict.
Technically the term D-Day can be used when talking about any military operation (as in, "D-Day for this operation is in two weeks"), referring to the day the operation is set to start. However, the arguably most famous D-Day in history - and the one most non-military people refer to when they just say "D-Day" - is the one referred to in this song: The D-Day of Operation Overlord, which was the code name for the Allies' plan to invade the parts of northern France held by Germany at the time, and retake it. It was a major turning point in World War 2, but the initial landing on the beaches of Normandy was an insane feat from the Allies, since the Germans had fortifications all along the coast. Many soldiers literally stepped off their launching boats straight into machine gun fire on the beaches, and it was tricky to get tanks and other heavy support equipment onto the shore from the fleet's transport ships, so the conditions were literally hellish at first. But in the end it paid off, and the Allies strted driving the Germans back, which is why Operation Overlord and the D-Day of June 6 1944 are considered so important. Primo Victoria is (slightly grammatically incorrect) latin, menaing "first victory".
Great explanation! Makes more sense now to the video and make me enjoy the song even more so. This is what the channel is about. People talking in the comment section teaching each other and building a family based, educational and supportive community. Thank you for teaching me new information 😊
At the bottom of the description field of every Sabaton video, they have a short description of the event the song is about. It's usually no more than one or two sentences. Good information to be armed with before listening to the song.
The original D Day was when the allied Forces UK and Americans stirmed the beaches of Normandy France and freed the French from Hitler in WW2. Great reaction. No shirts rule! You are amazing KaiReem let's go! ❤️
D-day was code word for the strategy & date of day to free France from the Nazi occupation it became one of the most icon events in WW2 so when the general public hears the word D-day they automatically thinking of the day in June that Allied forces begun their operation to defeat the Nazi troops in France
apparently they called it D day to comfuse the germans to try to crack the "code" it was called day day. fun unecessery thing to know
How interesting 🤔
