@@pop-comics I caught the video on a RUclips recommendation, and wanted to jump in and say the same thing CuttingEdgeComics did above. That Ghost Rider 28 lot is a find, and pretty hot right now.
@@pop-comics Nice! What's funny about that book is that even I (as a speculating 14 year old) bought 2 copies of that book off the newsstand thinking they might be worth something some day. :D
Yeah anything in a bag, foil cover, glow in the dark or any other gimmick speculators use to buy a giant pile of back then. I actually did not know the value had spiked so much recently.
Sweet. Love these videos. I'm always intrigued at the kind of stuff a comic book store gets from people walking in and hoping to sell a collection. In this case, it's pretty clear the the person who originally bought all of these was the kind of collector that propped up the industry in the early 90's. Pretty impressive how some books that were worthless a while ago, can jump in value.
You did extremely well with that bin picking up Spawn #1 and ASM #161. I couldn’t tell if 161 was 2nd print, 1st print has white background and is worth more, 2nd is darker and less value. Can’t wait to see other bins you purchased!
Great video!!! I've been waiting for you to drop a comic video!!!! You're hands down one of my favorite creators who got me into making my own channel. I have less than 20 subscribers, but that's a start and I'm happy about it. I hope you make lots more comic videos on this channel!
Looks about right. Buy 10X each of the gimmick Holo/Foil covers, but ony ONE copy of the first Carnage issue that actually ended up becoming the most valuable of the bunch! lol
That box of comics brought back memories of buying them off racks at grocery stores, book stores and comic stores, hoping they’d “skyrocket “ in value😅 But, I was always mostly interested in great artwork and the story. There was a glut of books back then and so many shiny covers!! Great video!
@@pop-comics I think Silver Surfer #50 was one of the first embossed covers of the ‘90s, if not the first. That was cool! But then, you got every Marvel comic having embossed or hologram covers - from Silver Sable to Quasar!! 😩
You know what, some of stuff you think is dollar bin junk some day turns out to be keys. You can never tell these days. If a character suddenly is used in the MCU, that dollar bin book is suddenly valuable. So just declaring everything that has no value in the present as junk may be premature.
Yeah its crazy these days how many cheap books all of the sudden gain value because of a key appearance etc. I am very slow to sell most of the time so I do catch a ton of upticks on things.
This whole collection looks like it belonged to someone who didn't read comics but just skimmed through the "Hot Prospects" section of Wizard every month and bought what they told him to buy.
It happened very often in that era, I use to buy collections like this about 10 years ago all the time for super cheap. Its been a while since I bought one but it looked very familiar lol Its like I have seen this collection many times before. Crazy thing is some of these books have value now which is crazy to me. Luckily as I have purchased more boxes of comics from him there is some variety in the older books which is awesome.
My newsstand edition of Amazing Spiderman 361 also has that extra orangish margin from the back cover getting larger bottom left corner. Off center printing I guess but it's common on that issue. Cover is still perfectly even all around.
@@pop-comics Ya when I saw mine I looked at some on eBay and saw several with same printing. Not sure if it's a ding or not for grading, but I don't think so.
I'm one of those guys with a bunch of 90s stuff looking to get rid of. I'm moving out of state. Want to sell it all, including anime figures, posters, etc. Even have 'undergrounds' back to the 60s. Just don't want to piece them out.
@@pop-comics I know I spent too much in those days, but all are bagged and boarded. Extensive Dave Stevens stuff (many signed) Cry for Dawn collection, about 20 short boxes, I also have like new original concert tees, each with ticket stubs ?

It was so highly mover printed and so many kept in high grade not sure it will ever be an expensive grail, but it will always be an important key issue.
Infinity War #1 has a little value, not as much as Infinity Gauntlet, but a few books. Hopefully he has a stack of ASM 365. That's the one of those Spidey hologram covers that still sells more around $10-15
Cool a new comic channel, I am new to comic collecting as a hobby and investor so I am totally subbing I have a question, which websites do you usually use to learn or keep track of comic book prices? I use CLZ comics but are there any other recommendations? also if you don't mind me asking what do you usually do with the loads of comics?

does cgc care about the wrap not being straight like on that asm 361?
I believe the wrap being off does not effect the grade unlike trading cards where a off center card makes it impossible to get a gem mint 10 etc.
