      Took like 12 hours for 3 different people to sort through, it was a TON of work but we were able to make profit as well as take books home

      I’m glad you enjoyed the video , we definitely didn’t expect to find so many runs and key issues still being there. In hindsight I wish I would have gotten forever people 1

      @@purplerube1038 for sure, I’m grateful I was able to document all of it. Have you seen the pt.2 where we drafted the top books?

      @@purplerube1038 awesome, much appreciated- it’s going to be later in the year but I’m in the process of learning to press comics so once I think I get it down a little well send a bunch from this collection to be graded and see how well we actually did

    9.5 is a 9.8 limited cgc run

      I’m familiar with the red label 9.5s but I’ve never seen a asm 300 in one

      Some were rough shape but quite a lot of them were still fairly high grade (like the NM daredevil and wolverine books)

    How much did you pay for it

    • @valorcomicservices
      @valorcomicservices  3 года назад +1

      On this endeavor we ended up paying 2,250 for the contents of the storage locker. We split it 3 ways at $750 each. After it was said and done we had our draft where we took home comics (I brought home close to 30) and the we all profited $800

    There could be a 9.5 can't there?

    • @valorcomicservices
      @valorcomicservices  3 года назад

      There are some 9.5s but they were promotional items from a convention quite a while ago and have a red label from CGC. A asm 300 in a 9.5? Never has happened

    Not to preach, but I've known some good folks who lost track of their storage rentals or fell on tough times and lost their entire collections to this practice. Lawfully, it's fine but personally, it's a tiny bit scummy raiding someone's life work(unless they're dead and the family is strapped for cash). Just the harsh reality of flipping.

      Really not sure how to respond to this one bud. Someone bought the locker, then reached out saying hey we have a bunch of comics - come look at it. From there was just business

      Comic collecting breeds greed and scams

    • @essaywhu

      If these guys didn’t buy it, someone else would have. If the original owner is still alive and cared about the collection they would have payed for their storage rental. If they didn’t have the money for rent, they could have sold some of this stuff on eBay or something. I have a feeling this collection was inherited and then forgotten in this locker. I really think it would be unlikely that the original owner would have done this with their collection. They had to know at least a little about what they had. Nobody buys 6000 books and doesn’t know anything about their value.

      If I had my current set up then, this video would have just been voice over and just been showing the books, the 2nd video with our draft shows some of the bigger books we were able to get out of the lot.
