It's about DAMN time! This phone is SO close to being my dream phone. Soft back, IR blaster, 3.5 jack, EVEN Bluetooth 5.0, NOT the size of a U.S. American History book, are the greatest highlights I'm looking for while trying to move from an LG V20. The ONLY thing keeping me from throwing money at it the bell is that 4GB of R.A.M. & the USB-c 2.0. 😵 I'd rather have no camera module at all these days, to keep most of those specs while upgrading the USB-c to 3.x, the ram to 6GB+, and add NFC (convenient for more wireless earbuds). SOO close indeed! Still SUPER awesome.
Man, the V20 is one of my all-time favorite phones, but for what you just said, the POCO X3 NFC might interest you if you want to stay in the same family.
@@SoldierKnowsBest 'preciate the recommendation. It looks flagship on paper, but it's multiple steps further in the wrong direction for my preferences. IR blast is gone, still USB-c 2.0, too much camera going on (i prefer keeping a dedicated Sony on-body at all times), and it's n HDR capable unit. Don't get me wrong, prices aren't the issue, my hope is that a company will think of those few that want the simplest of simplicities from the mid-90's but with a sprinkle of modern. The Poco M3 is closest I've seen in the past 5+ years. Something like a Google P5 without ANY cameras & a QHD screen w/ no high refresh-rate would be my ABSOLUTE jam!
I’m digging the leather casing. I’d have to get a case that covers the name tho. I prefer a minimalist look. I’d totally jump on this if it were 5G compatible!
Great honest review. This is phone is taking some criticism for it being very laggy, even though the specs are hitting well above its price point. Poco just rolled out an update that appears to have helped. As budget phones go, I think it's by far one the best overall deals out there. Maybe The Motorola G8 Power can compare, but can't think of anymore.

Extra screen? It doesnt even block your view of anything would u rather it cover the whole top end and it put your notifications in the spot where it would have been your viewing area? You sound pretty dumb to me lol
@@900bz I watch a lot of videos when I'm travelling, or when I can't sleep. A notch out of the viewing area is incredibly frustrating. Equally frustrating is the black space where video could be, were there no notch. You sound pretty short-sighted to me.
@@NorthernScrub its literally extra screen tho and in videos ur not looking at the corners for the most part u can also zoom it out so the whole video shows they thought of these things

If they could put 4K30, that’s is a great idea. I know it’s $129 but 4K is not hard on 48megapixel camera sensor. It’s just software.

That lag has been solved by the latest software update. It's smooth now, as my friend who bought it told me.
