Hi Ron,I was an engineer on rigs and ships all my life and worked mainly on EMD,s, Cats, and Wartsillas,EMD being the engine of my choice because it was easier in my view to work on.These were the larger 16 and 20 cylinder jobs, mechanical and electronic.I must say I thought the 16 cylinder was a better engine,we always had problems with 20 cylinder which always seemd to stem from rhe P pipes, an EMD Mechanic said to me once he thought it was because the engine was too long, ptting more stress on the crankshaft,he would know more than me,we ran them more than doing major work on them.Changing pumps was done as required, getting them off was as much a problem as repairing them due to location and space round the engine, getting in under the pump could be a nightmare, your in the bilge there.I liked your gear securing tool for torqueing the nut,and a purpose built bench for the pump is good also.If I remeber correct the pumps were the same but there was a right and left pump for the banks. It was 1979 I saw my first EMD,16-645-E9 and believe it or not they were white, with polished tops,on an anchor handling tug, they gleamed, and the last was in 2015,we had 10 of the 20 cylinder jobs on a drilling rig, constant problems.Oh well I dont expect to see one again.Enjoyed your video.

If they just realize they can wipe out the whole front gear train with a water pump failure.
